I see that former world champion Jocky Wilson has died at the age of 62. Some epic matches with him and Bristow in the past.

I also remember an American commentator describing Colin Montgomerie in similar terms!!

If I had known last night of Jocky's passing I would have marked it by having a pint of vodka and coke in the Caley Club - which is probably just about the only place in Inverness where you could afford such a thing.

The pint of vodka and coke was apparently an integral part of Jocky's game.

I did of course choose those words with you in mind!

Jocky should be viewed as a victim. He was unfortunate to be born before the days of 'Diet Coke'. His life could have turned out oh so differently!

In that case, he'd have been reet petite.

Jocky was a legend, he gave height disadvantaged, more rotund athletes everywhere hope
