Next Scotland boss

Two questions :

1) Who should it be?

2) Who will it be?

The BBC suggests a fanciful list of contenders including David Moyes, Billy Davies, Alex McLeish, as well as the usual suspects of Tommy Burns, Joe Jordan, Kenny Dalglish and Graeme Souness.

International management these days seems to appeal to experienced managers looking for semi-retirement (what do they do for the other 357 days a year?) and I cannot imagine any rising star managing at a high level being remotely interested. You will also get decent mid-level managers looking for a pay rise.

So managers likely to be keen would surely be Jimmy Calderwood and Jim Jefferies (and probably Ian McCall  :015: ) Not sure if Levein would want it yet, and I think Sir Alex has unfinished business.

I'll be very disappointed if they play the "continuity" card and go for Tommy Burns (who led us to a 4-1 defeat to Sweden in his only game in charge).

Will be very surprised if its not McLeish.

Good appointment, lets hope he knows where Inverness is :003:

Good Luck Eck, lets hope this is the start of a long successful era in Scottish Football

I'm actually quite encouraged by his interview... BBC link

Not exactly a huge secret that it was going to be McLeish.

I hope McLeish can be as determined in managing the national team as he was when he was playing for it. I am also happy to see 'the Bear' given a role within the setup. As I have said before, many players that played alongside big Roy both at Celtic and for Scotland have commented on the sheer determination of the man and how "motivational" he could be when roaring the side on from the back. I hope he can do that from the sidelines.

... looking at the three pictures on the bbc site .... would you argue with any of them ?
