No more Merger talk

For those who are still bitter about the merger all those years ago you can now go and watch Inverness thistle and Caledonian ft again as both have teams entering the summer amateur leagues!

Inverness thistle is the old scotrail team and I'm not sure about the Caledonian one!

So now, Inverness Caledonian thistle can look forward a great and big future without all the negative talk about 2 previous highland league team! And the fans can move on too :ictscarf:

Rattle a cage and out comes the fairy tale teller. For a start the INE and diplomacy does not match, perhaps try manipulation. You entertain the "minority" in a shackled boardroom whilst you dine the majority of the "fat cats" in the Kingsmills

For obscurity that one is surely straight out of the "tall ships passing behind Tomnahurich" stable!

I am minded of a variation on a famous photo caption from a 1993 issue of LSM (the Caley fanzine) - "Right lads, what to you want do do? Keep trying to be the greatest Highland League team in history or build a Scottish Cupwinning club down the dump with Fiona Larg?"

The irony of the original caption lingers on!

The defence rests - evidently some individuals are as much INE "dependents" in the same vein as many fell for the wiles of Terry Butcher. It is also evident that some individuals simply do not understand loyalty, love and devotion to a football family nor the grief, loss and anger that follows its sad destruction. Leave those who possess those emotions to choose the path that they follow. Chastising and at times ridiculing the "faithful" by those who have no link or emotional appreciation is  as low as you can stoop. Sad but perhaps not surprising.

I recall someone used to write into the papers proposing the name Inverness Castle. The merger did result in some weird and wonderful suggestions.

Ahhh.....Inverness Caley Thistle - Inverness Castle.  That's quite clever actually.

^^ Just 'twigged!

What about Inverness Cyst - or Inverness Cattle - or Inverness Cathie or Inverness (shortened version of a female erogenous zone) - now that would be apt for the INE supporting fannies to follow
