December 23, 20195 yr Strange game. It was pretty comfortable but we needed Ridgers to bail us out a few times. Thought Coll and Jamie did well, Keatings started brightly, Doran was hungry and Trafford/Carson battled away well. Our style seems to have changed somewhat. Last season when white was on good form, we were playing direct to White to hold up and Walsh, Doran and Polworth were making runs beyond him. Now it seems with both Carson/Trafford sitting that Rooney and mchattie push up high meaning Doran storey will play a bit narrower. Means more intricate play centrally which suits Keatings but not White. Might be worth trying someone else up top if we continue this style.

For some reason white is always first pick as a striker Maybe the fact that White has been our 3rd top striker at the club in the last decade has something to do with that reason you are looking for. Only 2 to beat him is Billy McKay and Adam Rooney. Maybe just maybe thats why the manager wanted to keep him at the club despite offers for him in the summer. I feel that he is criticised far too much on this forum as imo he is a far better player than many of the posters on here give him credit for. However thats down to opinions which every one has a right to hold. Whats not in doubt is that on the the goalscoring stakes he is 3rd in the last decade at the club. Top goalscorers during last decade Current season White / Doran 6 goals 18/19 White 16 goals 17/18 Oakley 12 goals 16/17 Fisher 7 goals 15/16 Storey 13 goals 14/15 McKay 10 goals 13/14 McKay 22 goals 12/13 McKay 26 goals 11/12 Tade 9 goals 10/11 Rooney 21 goals So he is not a Rooney or a McKay obviously but for the money we can pay atm then White is a more than decent striker to have in the market we operate at this time. A very merry Christmas to you all ?

Maybe you could break that down into how many games they played and which league (as level of competition is an indicator too) then perhaps in a matrix use it to define who was the best as I doubt any would say he was our 3rd 'best'? Its hard to say he's ahead of many if any of the below who I'm pretty sure would have cigarred this league. Rooney, Mckay, Foran, Christie, Ofere, Fisher, Oakley

Rooney, Mckay, Foran, Christie, Ofere, Fisher, Oakley Valid point but the fact remains we are in the championshiph with a different budget White has been our top scorer in 2 seasons since he was here. He was Livingstons top scorer in his 2 seasons there. He was Stirling Albions top scorer in the 2 seasons he was there. Bit of a pattern there dont you think, I certainly do. Not too bad for a donkey as some posters on here like to call him. Think it would be good if the lad and all the players got some more support vocally at the games and on social media. He is our striker atm and with encouragement he could play a big part in us getting back to the top flight. Social media plays a major part in the lives of many people currently. Our players are all young men who can be encouraged or discouraged by comments from fans on social media platforms. Wouldn't it be great if our fans were the most positive in 2020. Imagine if that positivity played a part in promotion. Worth a try ? Edited December 24, 20195 yr by Gregor
