We’ve been drawn at home to Lossiemouth on 6 August in the first round. If we win that we are at home to Strathspey on 20 August.

In recent years, we have forfeited home draws and played the games away so that may happen this season too.

image.pngFairly strong squad from the Caley Jags.

5 or 6 with 1st team games under their belt.

Bavidge, Zimba, Robbie Thompson, Strachan, Gardiner, Walker, Robertson....

Interesting to see how Chanka Zimba gets on with Alfie Bavidge and Mitchell Robertson should get a good run out at the heart of defence.

17: Jack Walker injured, replaced by Leo Walker.

18: 1-0 Robbie Thompson, great strike.

21: Mitchell Robertson heads onto post.

27: 2-0 Ben Gardiner super finish.

39: 3-0 Alfie Bavidge, another good finish.

41: 4-0 Bavidge penalty after Chanka Zimba fouled.

HT:- 4-0

51: 5-0 Jordan Alonge gets in on the action as he heads in.

56: 6-0 Alonge again, he combines with CZ before rounding keeper.

65: Subs: Kenzie Harkness, Sam Reid and Archie Kerr on Alonge, Zimba and Bavidge off.

72: Sub: Jake Rodgers on, Robbie Thompson off.

FULL TIME:- 6-0...

or 0-6 to be more correct

2 - 0 Robbie Thompson and Ben Gardiner after 27 minutes

Alfie Bavidge with both

They may have agreed to it because it's better, financially, for both teams if it draws a larger crowd at our place.

We were drawn to be the home team but in recent seasons the fixture has been reversed when that has happened. It’s quite possible most of the Strathspey players are Inverness based anyway so it suits them not to be playing in Grantown.

Bar 94 will open and a matchday bus will operate for the game against Strathspey on Wednesday.

Bar 94 will open at 1730, with last orders at 1900 (the bar must be fully vacated by 1915).

The bar reopens at full time.

A bus will leave the Bus Station for the Stadium at 1845 and return from the Stadium 10 minutes after the full time whistle.

The bus fare is £2.70 single (contactless payments or cash accepted), and Over 60 / Disabled and Under 22 Concession passes are valid, giving free travel on the service to passholders.

A Caley Jags XI will face Grantown based side Strathspey Thistle in the North of Scotland Cup 2nd Round. Inverness beat Lossiemouth 6-0 in the 1st Round with Strathspey having a bye. The sides met in pre-season with Inverness winning 4-1 in Grantown and Aaron Doran bagging the goal for the Highland League side. Strathspey have made a great start to the Highland League this season with Ryan Esson at the helm, winning four of their six opening fixtures. Young Shaun Morrison is in fine form with six goals. Calum Brown has netted three in the last two games. Daniel Whitehorn was top scorer last season, and watch out for that young guy Aaron Doran. He's a great prospect allegedly...

An excellent 3-0 win at the Black Park over Deveronvale in the Highland League with goals coming from

  • Shaun Morrison

  • Dan Whitehorn

Good attacking options without Bavidge and Zimba.

Sole, Robbie Thompson, and Alonge.

Adam MacKinnon also getting more game time in his rehab.

image.pngHaving beaten Lossiemouth 6-0 in the first round, the Caley Jags were drawn at home in Rnd2 against Strathspey Thistle who were given a bye into this round. The Highland League outfit had made their best ever start to a season winning four of their opening six games. Inverness lost their first League1 fixture on Saturday going down to Stenhousemuir which sets this game up nicely on a fine Summer evening. No Alfie Bavidge or Chanka Zimba tonight, but Adam MacKinnon, Liam Sole, Jordan Alonge and Robbie Thompson all started.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The stage was set on a fine night in the Highland capital as the game got underway. On paper, strong attacking options for the hosts with the visitors in good form and Shaun Morrison not shy in front of goal with six strikes to his name so far.
Here's 𝕏 to tell us what happened as it happened
06’ | 0-0 First chance falls to Strathspey as Shaun Morrison’s cross finds Calum Brown in the box but his shot is saved by Logan Ross.
10’ | 1-0 GOALLL! We take the lead through Robbie Thompson!
15’ | 2-0 GOALLL! We double our lead through Jordan Alonge’s header after he met Liam Sole’s cross into the box.
19’| 3-0 GOALLL! Liam Sole makes it 3-0 with a great finish inside the box.
25’ | 4-0 GOALLL! Liam Sole has his second after a good finish as Ben Gardiner found him down the left side.
31’ | 4-0 Aaron Doran sees his effort go wide after good hold up play from Shaun Morrison. Still got it, legend!
33’ | 4-0 Strathspey Thistle Sub: Dylan Lawrence on, Aaron Doran off. (We must have tired him out)
34’ | 4-0 Great save from Danny Gillan to keep out Liam Sole for his hat-trick.
40’ | 5-0 GOAL! Mitchell Robertson makes it 5-0 with a deflected effort in the box.
43’ | 6-0 GOAL! Robbie Thompson has his second with a good finish to make it 6.
HALF TIME 6-0
The second half would be about game and player management with the tie secured. This led to many substitutions as we saw out the game in front of a good crowd.
64’ | 6-0 Double ICTFC Sub: Archie Kerr and Kenzie Harkness on, Adam Mackinnon and Liam Sole off.
70’ | 6-0 ICTFC Subs: Sam Reid and Jake Rodgers on, Ben Gardiner and Sam Thompson off.
79’ | 6-0 ICTFC Sub: Gavin Thomson on, James Clark off.
FULL TIME: ICTFC 6-0 Strathspey Thistle We advance to the next round of the North of Scotland Cup thanks to goals Robbie Thompson (2), Liam Sole (2), Jordan Alonge and Mitchell Robertson. We will play Forres (A) with County at home to Clach on 3rd September.
Robert summed up: Not much to say about that second half. Useful game time for the five young subs, more good saves by Logan Ross and nearly a last minute hat trick for Robbie Thompson, and that was about that.
Duran missed in front of goal 1 on 1 and soon subbed
Enjoyable 45 from a young team.
Robbie Thompson pulling the strings but every player has played their part.
Logan Ross has had two good saves, the first at 0-0.
I hope the goals have been caught on camera for those not here as there’s been some good stuff.
