It wasn't one out of surprise, it was more to make it clear to anyone perusing this thread that there was a former player in the squad.

I've a funny feeling that Wilkie was called up but Levein said it was too soon for him (as he stated in the papers a week or so ago), so Machine was called up instead.

He'll never get anywhere near the full squad though...

Surprised a few more of the national team's fringe 'A' players aren't there e.g. Maloney, Beattie, O'Conner, Murty.... Barry (1 cap) Robson, especially since he won't be playing any first team football for a while after his  :33:

Didn't expect anyone from the Scotland set-up to even consider any ICT players, but is is interesting to note these players got in:

darren dods (utd)

broadfoot (rangers) started 3 games so far this season

naismith (rangers) dont know if he has even started 3

i know these are good players but are they match fit?

who in our squad has been better than any of them this season.there is only 1 player in our squad thats played well enough to even be considered for the B squad-don cowie.

dods is matchfit and on fire at the moment. well last week he was off the boil but apart from that hes been a rock.

wheres don cowie in this squad

dods deserves it, the only annoying thing is he deserved it last season too but offcourse nobody would have noticed then  :tic01:

  • 2 weeks later...

Craig Samson has been called up  :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Would have laughed as loud as you at the start of the season Kencar, but he has shut a lot of us doubters up with his performances, only came in as Roy was injured but some great performances and what a shot stopper.  :clapping03:

still affy surpised though

Congratulations to Mark Brown for making the big move to further is career and try and get into the Scotland fold.  Two keepers withdraw and they select a first division keeper to replace one of them.  What a step up Broonie.
