Gretna Documentary

I see the BBC are screening the first of a 2 part documentary on the rise of Gretna tonight.

Might be interesting to tune into and see what is said about Scotlands newest fairytale club though it might be hard not to want to punch Alexander in the face.

BBC 2 9pm

Follow Gretna's fairytale season from their strong links to the local community, their promotion to Division 1 and getting to the final of the Scottish Cup. Gretna have confounded their critics with their David and Goliath style successes both on and off the pitch. See Gretna living their dream.

They actually had arounf 12,500 people cheering for them that day, and they probably could have sold thousands more tickets.

Was a great day out, even for a "Neutral" fan, I know all the ones that I travelled down with from Inverness thoroughly enjoyed the day.

All the arguments about the money they are spending etc aside, Gretna have a buzz about them which is very infectious.

Because loads of Carlisle fans went to it as well as fans of other clubs to support them.

Incidentally Neil MacFarlane has just signed for Gretna on a deal worth £1,500 a week. That is more than what he was on at Aberdeen. But this is just another example of a player going to Gretna for Alexander and nothing to do with the money eh? :006:

It is simply all about the money. I doubt Alexanders actual talent as a manager.

Neil '**** off' MacFarlane to you
