  1. In the name of sweet jeezus someone please delete this ridiculous thread. This subject was boring ten years ago and is utterly irrelevant today. How exactly will a change of name attract either gloryhunting old farm feckwits or refuseniks. Next......

  2. Our great run last season included some excellent performances, but crucially included several games where we learnt the art of not losing when playing poorly. In that sense, a point yesterday was a great outcome because far too many players were lacklustre with St Johnstone looking the best side - they put far more pressure on us when we had possession and where more inventive when they had possession. It really is important that we pick up points even when playing poorly. We are also up to 4th which is fantastic - 7 places higher than I would be happy with at the end of the season. But a big downside for me was Foran. He was generally lacklustre and only showed a bit of passion later in the game when he was pushed forward. As a captain, I saw nothing from him in encouraging the team - quite the reverse in fact. When the ball didn't break the way he might have wished he just seemed to curse his luck and give up rather than getting back into position. And later in the game a long crossfield ball was played to the excellent Shinnie who, under pressure, kept the ball in and put a firm pass to Foran who was unable to control it. Foran's reaction was to shout "what the f*ck was that" at Shinnie. He kept abusing the youngster as Shinnie shrugged and then ran back into position, meanwhile Foran was paying no attention to where the ball was. As a captain he should be encouraging the youngsters and Shinnie was actually showing a lot more enterprise and passion than Foran. Shinnie's pass was no worse than most of what Foran had contributed in the match. Foran was well out of order. I hope Terry will be letting him know in no uncertain terms what is expected of him both as a player and a captain because IMHO he fell well short on both counts yesterday.

  3. I don't know what Russell has done to upset Butcher, but why oh why does he keep getting dropped out of a winning side to make way for players with less passion. Was he carrying a niggling injury? One of lifes great mysteries I suppose...........Well Terry, over to you.

  4. i was just watching man city vs blackpool and he was the best player on the pitch by far. So can levein continue to leave him out of the starting 11 for scotland? personally i think he definatly shouldnt be left out. Hes better than caldwell and mcculoch in my opinion and will give a much more attacking mindset to the team. When he gets the ball he allways looks to play it forward. so what do you think?

  5. 4th! 4th? 4th!! Incredible. Bad luck to Aberdeen who lost today. What chance did they have though with those injuries, that weather, the referee, climate change, the Tory cuts, Spain winning the World Cup etc etc etc. It's all conspired against McGhee. You can't hold the p1ss-poor run of results against them.

  8. Who and what are Inverness Utd?? You say Highland FC is ridiculous but it aint have as ridiculous as the far too long winded and cumbersome Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club By calling ourselves Highland FC we might attract fans to home games from throughout the Highlands not just Inverness For some reason i find highlanders very negative at times and they certainly dont like change:irritated:

  9. Ok i'm not an Invernessian but i consider Inverness my home being here for the last ten years or so I know this is a touchy subject to some on here but i feel its a question that needs asked Should we continue to use ICT as our clubs name or change it completely to something else? I ask because the lack of support by Inverness football fans, i think anyone who was there yesterday realises that the attendance was very dissapointing it certainly wasn't 4882 which was reported or no where near it Why are Invernessians not following there local team in numbers? A city of the size of Inverness should attract 5000+ at the very least every home game in my opinion Yes i realise there are busses that leave town on saturday mornings for Ibrox, Parkhead and Pittodrie but i'm not sure how many but i doubt that leads to that many fans? I know from personal experience whilst out drinking that i've experienced unpleasantness and contempt from pre-merger fans when it comes to ICT, ive even been verbally abused on numerous occassions by them and also Clach supporters just because of the team i chose to follow My plan is a radical one but i personally would buy out Clach and Inverness City and continue both sides in their respective leagues but use both of them for our reserves and fringe players I feel the time is right to change the name in an attempt to get the whole of Inverness behind the team so ive started a poll with some ideas(ive still included our current title for fans that don't want change) Dougal Edited to say i voted Inverness FC
