  1. Well that's us in the Bunkhouse at Fort Augustus, 25 miles in the pouring rain, 20 miles tomorrow then 7 on Saturday around Inverness. We would like to thank you for all your support and hope to see some of you for a pint in the Innes pre match.

  2. Yes - this is an excellent innovation. What a pity that it could not be accomplished in a Britains Got Talent manner - where we could have a panel of emminent judges (like ma good self) who can push the red X to put somebody out of their misery and the remaining trialists go to a public vote.

  3. - Fans pay £50 to emulate Jonny Hayes and have a square go with Richie Foran. First fan to last a minute going toe-to-toe with the Foranator wins a coconut. - CaleyD challenge: fans and players pay £25 each and have to read three of CaleyD's posts in a row without falling asleep. Winner gets years supply of Nytol. This challenge will require strict drug testing for Pro-Plus, cocaine and crystal meth. - Renegade XI. All the players Renegade has suggested we sign are recruited to play in a charity match against Caley Thistle. Fans flock for miles around to see how that eight foot tall Norwegian whaler works alongside Tana Umanga up front. - Ross County charity approach. We charge everyone £20 for, er, y'know, eh. Yep. - Everyone pays Johndo £10 to go a week without insinuating that he has insider information from within the club. The accuracy of Johndo's 'exclusives/windups/pish' will remain the same for this week. - Instead of TopSixNextYear putting bets on Caley winning 7-1 and Shane Sutherland to score hat-tricks, he donates all his bets for a month to the club. We now have more money than Manchester City and Ladbrokes are bankrupt. - ALternative Maryhill enters a 'Jesus and Mary Chain' look-a-like competition and wins £5 for the club. Sadly it's wasted when the result ofthe competition descends into a massive riot and everyone gets killed.

  4. Totally agree with you IHE, but the standard of coaching is vitally important at the U13 stage up, not just the U19's where I think the club feels these youngsters should be the finished article - far from it. State of the Art facilities doesn't make a player, good quailty coaching, discipline and desire does. Personally I think the SPL youth programme is too widespread ie too many age groups which means too many bit part players who will never progress to the next level. The club could coach as many players as they see fit but I would have a go at having only 2 nationally competing groups, U15 & U18. The U15 group would be filled with QUALITY 13, 14 & u15 players and the U18's with 16,17 & u18's but the important factor would be having at least 4 well qualified coaches who are paid decent part-time wages to reflect their qualifications and experience. If you run 5 or 6 teams as we do, you just cannot get enough quality coaches. I could probably bore you with my opinion all night but this club either doesn't have or just doesn't invest enough into this area - it has always been the same, no matter what spin is put on it.

  5. Cant quote the actual statistics but how many youngsters from the academies of teams across the country actually progress to the first team squad. Crewe may be the exception. IMHO the "issue" is as much about the standard of the coaching and the "discipline" rather than the facilities and the talent of the individuals.

  6. Strathspey Thistle was probably the worst place for him to go but seemingly had attitude problem which has seen him spend most of the season on the bench. Doubt if he will end up at Elgin.

  7. Almost the horses mouth??........... Would that be the horses erse?? ;-) You will always have more willing workers and individuals who will listen and are keen to learn. Make no mistake, the coaching team will know who is in each category and who deserves a chance.
