  2. Just a few thoughts a few days later Although starting brightly the ball spent more time in the air and noone in midfield seemed able to get it down and move it with pace or precision There were long periods of head tennis followed by unceremoniously booting of the ball. We seemed to be playing at a lower intensity against a team fired up. There was a lack of urgency in the passing and movement. Not sure if they thought because they played well the week before it would all just come together again because they were playing a team near the bottom of the league. There's also a tendency to shoot in areas when there are men far better placed - Storey only ever has one thought - one glaring attempt when two men free in the box. Jordan White works hard and does link up well most of the time. He doesnt win headers when people are clambering all over him but he does a fairly decent job of holdign up if the ball is at his feet...which Im guessing was the idea? He was very unlucky with that hooked shot in second half - that would have been a cracker. Basically the loss came to a couple of individual errors but could easily have been turned round if more effort had been made to pull PT out of shape. There was a lack of players willing to make runs into space and those that did get into space were ignored or let down by poor precision passing under pressure. Some of that pressure was without doubt illegal and the ref ignored it for far too long. think everyone in the stands knew PT would be fired up and ready for a scrap so not sure why we. thought we could be so passive against them. Anyway..hope that was a blip because things were looking good.

  4. tm4tj - he farmed at Balnastraid by Duthil in the 60s/70s so Carrbridge would have been local Welfare side. Also played for the Fluke post Highland League. I never saw him play apart from family picnics but believe "absolute rock" sounds about right. His uncle Scot Symon wanted him at Rangers in the 50s but he opted to stick to farming and Highland League football. Scarlet - Roshie/Stootie chronology as above. Both great players I believe. A wee bit before my time unfortunately.

  5. one positive to take is that Roddy Macgregor is starting to fit right in with the first team, you wouldn't be able to tell he was 17 if you didn't already know.

    • Relegation Statement
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.
