  1. I disagree with the last sentence Alan which I don't normally do when it comes to your posts lol. The most needed area needing strengthened is RB, then imho we are finished in the transfer market. We will likely only play one up front this season again so that will be one from: Todorov, Keatings, Storey, Sutherland or Mackay so we don't need 5 unhappy strikers (to be left on the bench or reserves altogether), unless Daniel goes on loan again. We have strength in depth in all positions apart from RB so, imho, and most posters on here (that's a first, people agreeing with me on here 😂) will believe that RB is "the area needing strengthened as a priority.

I don't think he'll be a bench warmer Alan. He's a proven striker and I think he'll give him a chance to prove it at this level.

Looking forward to Shane being a star with us. Honestly, I have high hopes of him to deliver the goods!
  4. We need to see how pairings develop, But fitness permitting I’d go with Toshney and Deas with Devine and McHattie as cover. If we have a right back by then, Mckay comes into the mix too but I’d stick with Toshney and Deas. It will be interesting to see who is preferred at left back, McHattie or Harper. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised how McHattie did at centre half in the latter part of last season, and he seemed calm and unflappable. As a result, I suspect he may get the nod ahead of Harper, at least initially.
  5. From a business point of view ICT as a company wants to survive through the pandemic. However, income streams will be reduced and who knows when supporters will be allowed back into stadia. So the signing of Devine is a good piece of business. He is an experienced player and like all players will have made mistakes. He is a good buddy of Aaron's and will be known to other players such as James Vincent. He knows the club and should settle back into Inverness very quickly. He can play in a couple of positions in the back four and could have played for Northern Ireland if he had not switched allegiance to the south. So another positive signing for what will be a most unusual and uncharted season.
  6. I've looked at the club site to have a look at our squad and depth in each position and come up with a list of all players in each position so that it's easy for us to work out where needs strengthened. GK: Mark Ridgers, Cameron Mackay and Jamie McKinnon Defence: Lewis Toshney, Robbie Deas, Kevin McHattie, Brad Mackay and Cammy Harper Midfield: Sean Welsh, David Carson, Aaron Doran, James Vincent, Roddy McGregor, Shane Harkness and Lewis Hyde, Scott Allardice Forwards/Strikers: Shane Sutherland, James Keatings, Miles Storey, Nikolay Todorov and Daniel Mackay Edited to add Scott Allardice. Also, it's interesting to hear that Roddy MacGregor is a Midfielder or Forward, this quote from Robbo in P and J, "up front we have lots of options. We lost Tom Walsh and Jordan White but we have Roddy MacGregor, James Keatings, Aaron Doran, Miles Storey, Daniel Mackay and Nikolay Todorov. We've added Shane Sutherland, who has scored bundles of goals at lower league level, and we are hopeful he'll do the same here". He then goes on to talk about versatility being key to which is where he mentions Roddy "we have players like Keatings and MacGregor who are between Midfield players and forwards". If that is the case, is he saying that we won't now be after another striker and RB is now his priority, again, this quote suggests that to be the case, "We have quality in Midfield and are hoping to have around 7-8 forwards we can chop and change. It should allow us to be flexible enough if we need to change formation. If we can get a bona fide right back in, we would also have Brad McKay and Lewis Toshney who can play RB or CB. That's the sort of thing we are after". Sorry for the number of quotes by the way lol, it would be a lot more helpful if someone could post a link to the article from the back of today's (13 August) P and J.
