Same here. It was sair to bear, the first setback in our 15 year history. I was at all the post-split games apart from Hamilton. First we beat St Mirren away. After Rossco’s late winner we hit the bar twice. One of those going in would have meant finishing above them on goals scored. Then a 2-2 draw at Motherwell. John Sutton equalised with 11 minutes left, or we would have been safe with 2 games to go. We lost a tight game at Rugby Park due to a strike by Kevin Kyle, then on to Falkirk on the last day. So we went down on goal difference with 37 points won which I think is still a record. Still, it made 2009-10 into an epic season for us…

I remember it well, too. We were visiting my wife's family in Falkirk/Stenny. I watched the ICT game on the telly, and then got dragged to Ochilview to see Stenny take on arch-enemies Cowdenbeath in the 2nd leg of the play-off final for promotion from Division Three. 0-0 from the first leg. It was a bloody freezing day there, and since my wife's cousin was the volunteer Stenny club photographer, I had to accompany him to what was in those days the completely exposed - and empty - far side of the pitch. He handed me his old camera, and warned me that it had significant shutter lag. It was a dreadful game, with no one scoring, and serious frostbite setting in. Still at 0-0 after 120 minutes, it went to penalties. which Stenny won 5-4. I became a local hero by capturing the winning penalty going into the net past the diving keeper. By that time I had worked out the shutter lag, and IIRC I pressed the button just as the penalty taker was about to hit the ball. The picture has long gone, but they still have a report of the match online - https://www.stenhousemuirfc.com/match/stenhousemuir-fc-v-cowdenbeath-3/ However, in the summer, Livingston were demoted from the First to the Third Division after going into administration and liquidation. This resulted in Cowdenbeath being promoted as well as Stenny. So I could have stayed in the warmth and nursed my misery.
  3. Never spent that much time in his company…😂 Remember his office at Greig St. Got half an hour in there back in the Caley days but he maybe thought I was a potential investor 😇
  4. By listing the 5 games they’re already setting it up so Celtic can avoid getting hammered, and get a token punishment along with the other clubs, and they won’t get a backlash from all the paranoid jungle Jims saying their club is victimised.
  5. But of course we know that won't happen. In fact, thinking about it, I would be surprised if anyone was docked points, because they're not going to do it to Celtic, are they? And it would be grossly unfair to any smaller club to have points deducted when Celtic escape after a pitch invasion like that. Probably fines then, if anything. Of course, I could be too cynical, or too trusting. We shall see.
  6. Not specifically ICT, but it is relevent to ICT so hopefully alright posted here. For anyone interested in such things, here are the average crowds in League 1 this season, with each team's biggest and smallest crowd. Not surprisingly ICT were far and away the best supported, and also were the opponent for three of the other clubs biggest crowd. East Fife were the biggest draw to two other clubs. Despite having the lowest average Kelty were not the lowest crowd for any club when they visited. Cove were the opponent for Hamilton's biggest and smallest crowd of the season. ICT's lowest crowd was bigger than every other club's best crowd of the season. Average Largest Smallest ICT 2306 5029 v Hamilton 1792 v Peterhead Queens 1034 1413 v Montrose 495 v Stenny East Fife 739 1348 v ICT 553 v Montrose Peterhead 696 927 v Queens 479 v Alloa Alloa 615 809 v ICT 509 v Cove Montrose 587 1082 v East Fife 260 v Peterhead Stenny 544 1096 v ICT 384 v Montrose Hamilton 476 696 v Cove 238 v Cove Cove 471 695 v Peterhead 240 v Alloa Kelty 417 745 v East Fife 242 v Cove
  7. Agreed but they're all probably knackered. Part time outfit and their manager is away to Ayr. Pleased they got promotion though as they pushed us all the way.
  8. If they don't go pear shaped, then Accies will be playing in League1 again after a 4-3 win over Clyde last night giving them a 5-4 aggregate win over the Bully Wee. It has to be said that Clyde gave them a run for their money (no pun intended), but all the same in a footballing sense, that's some achievement for Accies to avoid relegation after a 21 point deduction. 👏
  9. The ground staff, left to right, Cambell Stephen, Dale Stephen Groundsman, Terry C. MacQueen, Fraser Stephen.
  10. The majority from last year will sign. They played for a virtually bankrupt club with a 5-point penalty in Division One, so I'm sure many will be delighted with a healthy Championship club.
  11. Coming away from the stenny v ict game a few weeks ago I got talking to an old stenny fan walking back to the car. ( probably a bit younger than me but he looked older 😃. O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us / To see oursels as ithers see us!" He said he hoped ict go up and stenny stay down. Your team is playing well and you have a very good manager I said, why not go up. We are happy watching the team, winning more than losing, enjoying the football. If we go up we will have to find money for the increased wages getting better players in. We have a set number who come to watch home games so where is that money coming from. Very astute I thought.
  12. I’m sure some of you will know that a Scotland fan has been walking across the USA. I see that in a town in Indiana he met a guy with a huge ICT tattoo on his chest! Hopefully link to the video works. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1923414121710772/?fs=e&s=TIeQ9V&fs=e&fs=e
  13. It's all too easy for the powers that be to simply punish the clubs with a fine or a points deduction. The problem with this is that the club, its players and the majority of the fans are the victims of this behaviour and they should not be the ones who are punished. I get that clubs have a clear responsibility to take measures to ensure the the safety of everyone in the stadium, but penalties should be considered only when clubs have failed to act upon advice from police or taken specific measures required by the footballing authorities. Clearly I can't comment on what advice the club may have been given on this occasion, but if it misjudged the position then a reprimand and warning would be far more appropriate than a penalty. Issues with Celtic are on a different scale and they have a lot of form. They need the book thrown at them. The important thing to me is that serious measures are taken against anyone who was behaving in a violent manner. There will be plenty of footage from which to identify people who should receive banning orders and the club should, by now, be able to advise the authorities of the actions taken in this regard. Moving up a division will also mean larger crowds and particularly larger away supports. Regardless of what happened in the Hamilton game, this would mean a security review was required in any case. A fine would simply mean there is less money available to spend on measures to prevent any recurrence of these problems. Name, shame and ban the thugs. They are not fans and they are not welcome at our club.
