  1. The reality is that there is insufficient demand for products to make a permanent shop commercially viable. "Targeted" stalls within the Eastgate is about the best which can be expected. It would be an idea however to have new strips launched within the Eastgate for example instead of it being simply launched by a picture in the local newspapers.
  2. The issue is clearly complex and in many ways it is to the credit of the old firm fans (did I just say that) that they continue to support their teams (including vociferously) in large numbers albeit even they have reduced crowds. Clearly there is something or some factors which are impacting on the crowds. I can't help feel that the SPL lacks a general entertainment factor which goes beyond the standard of the football being played. Nor is it simply a financial issue though clearly this will have had some impact. If we take the game on Wednesday. There is poor weather, Man U vs Real on TV, etc before the game even starts. Prior to the game there is little to provide any entertainment or interaction with the crowd. Jud gives the teams just prior to the game and tells someone to turn off there lights (not a criticism of Jud who is just filling in) albeit with the sound level somewhat out of kilter. Half time - nothing. End of game - everyone frustrated at another few points thrown away. I'll be honest and say walking away from the ground I was left wondering why I had bothered to attend and whether TV football would have been more enjoyable/entertaining. We have had a number of people over the summer give any number of reasons for not renewing season tickets this year. Most of the reasons I would suggest are spurious and in effect they were saying that they could not be bothered and found a reason not to come back this season. Solving the above is even more complex than the reasons for the issues. The core aspect is to find something however that makes people want to come, irrespective of quality of football, league position and other factors including cost. This is what I believe is lacking and we are not alone in suffering from this. What will definitely not help is Terry trying reverse psychology. Nor will it help to pick battles with fans.
  3. Unfortunately the highlights show for the second game running Owain didn't track his man for the goal. Hopefully the lesson will be learnt
  4. I'm somewhat baffled that it is being suggested that the Manager is blameless and it is all the fault of the players (not least of all by the Manager himself!) For most of the second half we sat there as we failed to close the game out and almost expected the sucker punch. Is it the players fault that we did not make a sub earlier to replace Billy (who is having a lean spell like all strikers) and try and force a second goal? Is it the players fault that we do not seem to have an alternative on the bench to replace the front two (as Shame and Roberts never seem to get a game up front) and only seem to have taken in defensive players in January? Oswell (striker) leaves to be replaced by??? Is it the players fault that we used the same tactic which failed against Hearts and St Johnstone amongst others of replacing the creative players with 'defensive' players and we fail to close out the game? We then have our two most creative players off the park which makes it unlikely that we can try and get a winner. Yes, the players squandered a number of chances, however sometimes the manager needs to help them out. The chasing pack have closed up on us over the past three weeks and only time will tell whether we have 'peaked' for the season, however at the moment it seems as though we may be looking at a season of regrets.
  5. The evening prior to the first cup game, MacGregor and Adams both talk live on BBC Radio Scotland about how County have "different morals" to Caley as they look to have a "local" squad. So with three signings of players not even born in Scotland does this suggest that they have lost there moral integrity or are simply full of..................?
  6. "Two prime sites" being the definition of grounds with minimal opportunity for redevelopment, no parking (other than marginal on street parking which was a becoming a problem even in HIghland League days) and in the case of the Caley Park a pitch more liable to waterlogging than Dingwall. Also, where was the money coming from to change these into 6000 all-seater grounds?
  7. Caley tried the Bught prior to the ill fated Carse episode and both the locals and the Planners made it clear that this was not an option. The Western Link road will mitigate some of the impacts of traffic, however I suspect that the loss of local amenity to allow a stadium to be constructed will remain a showstopper for a considerable time.
  8. The worst that could happen would be Malpas getting the job! His managerial record's horrific! No. The worst that could happen would be Adams being offered the job
  9. I'd be more concerned as an ICT Supporter if our managers were doing such a poor job that no other clubs were interested in them!
  10. Yet the same police force stand watching Rangers fans singing sectarian songs at th final game last season and take no action??
  11. To be fair, if we had a tax dodging dad and had to live amongst peg selling interbreders we would probably be greeting too!
  12. Welcome to the world of action and consequence. What do you expect?
  13. This is the same peg seller who the night before the last game gave it large as to "how county have different morals" to that of Caley in having "local players" The same man who's father gained from the morally correct EBT at Rangers. And of course, the local lad interviewed first by Radio Scotland after the game was Rocco Quinn. So Dingwall is just outside Glasgow now?? To be fair to most County fans I've spoken to after the game, even they are cringing at the whining little................ Anyway, he should get over it. Everyone knows that the Diddy Wee Team always gets hit with a late sucker punch from the Big Team

    Crowd Stats

ICT struggling with the incomers. County struggling with the inbred. What next?
  15. The very fact that this is a big game is likely to result in a good atmosphere from both sets of fans. Over the years there has been much made about ring fencing areas for singing sections and we have even gone as far as moving season ticket holders out of their seats to create these with no discernible positive result. Without trying to be too critical, it is also disappointing that we feel the need to create atmosphere in a game such as this yet place lesser importance on achieving this in the 'smaller' games where there is probably a greater benefit in terms of lifting the players, etc. I would add that there needs to be more done by the club in trying to foster this atmosphere at home games also.
  16. If a singing section is such a great idea, why is there not more singing happening in the TCS where the place is so empty this season that anyone who wishes to sit together to sing can easy do so?
  17. Definition of a captain - someone who stands doing nothing whilst shouting at his team to "come on"!
  18. Very much a case of the back four being let down by the rest of the team. Too many players having an off day, however for 60 minutes it was obvious that something need to change and nothing came from the management team. We seem to be unable to change things in the middle of the game. Having seen Roberts several times now there seems very little to justify his selection and indeed insufficient to suggest that we should be extending his loan stay. Money could be better used on a wide midfielder I suspect. I know that we have Nick to return and Pepper is also a prospect, however it is noticiable that he has not featured as much recently.
  19. I see that they are looking to raise £2m to get to the end of the season. But then what? Even if they reduce their wage bill at the end of the season, they are still almost £50m in debt to UBIG. There is a real danger that the fans are simply throwing money away to address a short term cash flow problem whilst leaving the root cause festering away in the background.

    Crowds

I think using cost as an excuse is to simplistic, In many ways we have improved things on the park this year, however as a Match Day experience we are really poor. In effect we turn up, listen to a tinny sound system play a few tunes watch a game of football then go home. This is not really meant as a critism, however I accept that in effect it is, but what effort is made to interact with the crowd, provide some link between the club and the crowd, etc. At least when Don had control of the mic there was an attempt to get closer to the crowd and interact. At the moment the club don't seem interested in this aspect or attempting to give an overall entertainment experience. Having attended numerous games, both football and other sports, in various parts of the world, we seem to offer the least. Even simple thinks such as having a decent sound system helps build up the atmosphere. It also does not cost money for someone to stand and interact with the crowd.
  21. Costs are an interesting read for those who think the club charges too much yet believe that we should be able to compete with the rest of the SPL (even though we also have the smallest crowds)!
  22. During the second half we were discussing whether OTJ was carrying an injury. He certainly was not as mobile as the first half hour of the game, spent much of the time looking at things happening and not getting involved and lost possession much more than we are used to. When Gavin came on this changed the nature of the game. If nothing else he tends to put his foot on the ball and keep possession which was what we were needing.
  23. Things must be bad when the best that the County fans can come up with is our ground is better than your's. This will be the ground with the smallest pitch in the world (may not be a fact ), a diddy wee bus shelter for a stand because they can't count and a daft bridge as the only means of access! What next, they'll claim that they have wonderful facilities including an indoor pitch! Oh sorry, they already do that in spite of the truth that fact they don't (unless we wish to make the same claim) Fair enough, the San Siro it is not, but we'll take no lessons from the peg sellers. As an aside to all this nonsense about noise being lost, the old firm fans still seem to manage to create a truck load of noise when they come to town.
  24. Can pay on night though tickets are recommended
  25. Diagonal balls to the back of Granty will do the job. Every time Celtic did this in the game earlier this year it had the County defense under pressure. Surprised that Celtic did not use this more given how successful it was when used.
