  1. Pretty dire 1st half (trying to pass your way out of defence isnt a wise move when opposition are closing down every ball) Improvement in the second half, with a bit more space to operate, but alas...it wasnt to be. I can see us struggling this season
  2. Tch.....its only County....easy 3 pts today
  3. Apparently...John Lennon spent many many years, searching for a home up North. I think his aunt lived up that way and he spent many happy summers as a kid there.
  4. The Tannoy in North Stand is way more audible than the horrendous speakers in the Main stand. I was at the U-20s game last night and sat in the main stand for the first time in a while and the god awful speakers near made my ears bleed. Its like the old highland League speaker set up
  5. An improvement on last season would be good. I did so well the first half of last season, sitting top or near the top for large parts....but totally fell away in the second half of the season, finnishing in Mid Table (i think)
  6. Ive signed up for both Classic and H2H :)
  7. Agree with this. Thought there was some nice footie plyed at times. I thought McNaughton had a really solid game. Looked comfortable with good distribution.
  8. I remember someone spray painted "Welcome To Dalneigh" on the wooden fence at the top of Caley Road. I know who it was that it was alleged to have done it....but his name escapes me for now. That corrugated fence, just to the side of Telford Street, with the bands name on it, hasnt deterioted in the 35 yrs or so that its been there. Looks as tho the fence was recently put up and sprayed on. Makes me smile when i pass it. A real throwback to the 80's
  9. First 8 years of my life i lived in Birnie Terrace (1970 - Jan 1979) Then moved to Caledonian Road and saw out my childhood.
  10. There had been an inquiry into the usefullness of the lights and they have decided last week to KEEP the lights, but change the timing on them, then have another think about whether they work or not in September. Farcical!!!
  11. Good luck Richie. At least we have a manager who is happy and settled with life in the highlands, so wont be looking to jump ship to the first decent job that becomes available in the central belt
  12. I take great comfort from knowing, he has gone to a club where he will win SOD ALL
  13. Im giving you a like...for the use of the word "miser"....a word, i havent witnessed in use for probably 20+ Yrs :)
  14. As a born and bred Highlander, whos perspective has somewhat changed (and softened) a lot this past few years...i kinda find myself hoping County win the final and take the Cup back up north with them. BUT, i aslo happen to fully understand Old Caley Girl and others view, about County being a rival when it comes to being a hound for the locals pound. But...at the end of the day.....when it all boils down....its a sport..and really not worth investing any ill will towards anyone. Enough of that and worse, going on elsewhere.

  16. My Uncle (Bullers) used to be the Doorman in the Thornbush Inn.....way back in its heyday!
  17. Looks like Ex Caley Legend Martin Lisle (Brownish jacket) looking on. Fab player...i think im right in saying he scored a Hatrick in his first ever game for Caley (in the HL days)
  18. I got 871st highest score this week...out of 3.6Million players!! 103 pts this week!! See what happens when i actually take an interest in managing my team, after about 20 seasons of picking my team and never going near it afterwards lol. 2nd place...Hell YEAH!!!!
  19. Them trees, up craig dunian, and heading out toword Loch Ness is one of my all time fave views. On a sunny day, seeing that wooded hillside just makes me so so happy. Its also rather beautiful, on a sunny day, heading down from asda, towards the roundabout on Dores Road. It looks amazing from any angle. Its just one of the little things in life that makes me happy :) Actually...thinking about it....it also looks beautiful after a heavy snowstrom, when the trees are covered in snow. Dont seem to happen so much these days, compared to when i was wee
  20. Not being bottom anymore kinda sucks....as i have to actually go log in to the site to find out where my team is now lol
  21. Im happy to welcome him back. Good luck to him :)
  22. jagster....apparently Cortana is a drain on power, so if you use a laptop on battery often, might be a blessing that it dont work :)
  23. I have noticed my battery life has been affected since installing windows 10. But i looked into the matter and have taken steps to improve things. In the name of science, i decided to time the battery life after making the changes. As i type, My battery is at 39% after 1hr 50mins of use. On windows 8.1, i was getting over 4 hours battery life, despite the laptop being about 2 yrs old now
