    Gretna

I, for two, was similarly pleased! :003:
  2. I find myself strangely saddened to see our once great rivals (I speak as a mortal Howden Ender of old) propping up the rest of Scottish football. Nil points from 6 games - quite tragic really. I remember being in awe of an Elgin City team who swept all opposition aside back in the 60s, and who became the only non-league team ever to reach the Scottish Cup quarter-finals. Matches against City always had an extra edge - more so than against County or Thistle, as I recall. I genuinely hope they get themselves sorted out and achieve their rightful place - fighting against Ross County to avoid relegation from Division 1!

    Gretna

Ha! Have they finally been found out? Has the "fear factor" gone? I'm sorry, but I just don't like Gretna. I was even supporting Ross County against them recently. Believe me, that really shows how much I detest them! (Historical note: Gretna 0, Dundee 4 - today)
  4. Go on, you old git, you know you want to!!! :003: If it's only 13 hours you could be back home by Sunday night!
  5. Hmmmm . . . . wonder if his wee brother played for Liverpool . . . . ?
  6. As I recall, the occupant of room 16 in Dalneigh, prior to the arrival of Mrs Davidson, was a scary wee lady called Mrs Mackintosh, not to be confused with Miss Mackintosh in the infant dept.
  7. - 1) you hate Elgin City - 2) you can remember when "penny" was the singular of "pence"
  8. Not the one on yer erse; that's for sure! :015: :015: :015:
  9. Surely the Cellic one should be on yer erse!
  10. Did nobody notice Hastings today? I thought he had an excellent game - good solid performance. Bayne certainly posed a threat when he came on, unlike Wyness, and could have nicked it at the end, although that would have been a little unjust. All in all, I don't think our 1st half performance was nearly as bad as the Radio Scotland commentary team made out, although we were pretty poor. Much better in the second half and a draw was a fair result, although, to be honest, not as fair as 2-1 to Celtic would have been, if you get my meaning! And good to see the drum section back!
  11. Gotta start winning home games. That'll draw the crowds. Maybe. :006:
  12. Sarah O's diddies were the only good thing about her!
  13. Quite agree Alex. I believe they're doing a double bill with Wishbone Ash in Perth later this year. Can't wait!!
  14. Were SAHB no' playing at the Raigmore Motel earlier this year? A colleague claims to have seen them there anyway. Wish I'd known beforehand!
  15. Welcome aussie_lad. The teams you should detest are CELTIC and RANGERS!!! All the others you are free to mildly dislike or even hate, at your discretion.

    Dods

Yeah - I'd have spelt it "heels". There is also, I think, the option of offloading him in January. I think Dods has been great for us and will be sorry to see him go. If he wants to see out his contract then hang on to him - make him captain, a role he performed brilliantly last season, and give him the opportunity to put himself in the shop window. Then at the January transfer window, consider the options and hope to **** a club other than Dundee Utd. make a decent offer for him. Otherwise release him on completion of his contract.
  17. Yeah, this is one of my pet hates too. I do a lot of driving on the North West coast and Skye and have never been able to understand the sheer ignorance of holiday-makers on single track roads who are seemingly oblivious to the increasing queue of frustrated drivers behind them. And the ones who brake at every bend on 2 track roads, crawling along, then as soon as a decent straight appears, the straight I've been waiting for because I know the road, they're off like bl00dy rockets and I can't get past! I suppose it's a holiday area and they assume everyone else is on holiday too. Ooooh they forkin annoy me!!! :008: :008: :008:
  18. May I be the first to welcome you Gerrit! There's one or two posters here based in the Emerald Isle. Just be patient - I'm sure they'll crawl out of the woodwork and stumble upon your message eventually. I'm always fascinated to see people from other countries declaring support for ICT and would be interested to know why you chose this team over any others. Welcome aboard! :003:
  19. Being fairly new to this SPL lark, we are an easy target for such predictions. It'll be a while before we become one of the safer bets for SPL survival, like Hearts, Hibs, the Old Firm and (dare I say it) Aberdeen. Saturday's match was disappointing. But I did see some flashes of our potential and certainly wouldn't condemn the team to relegation on the strength (weakness) of one poor showing!
  20. We really don't want to hang onto any player who's already decided he wants to move to another club. Persuade him his future lies with ICT, otherwise sell him for as much as we can. Then boo him whenever he plays against us! However, I fully agree with DS's stance against United's murky methods.
  21. It's been a while since we dished out a 5-goal gubbing - we used to do it quite regularly in the lower divisions. I reckon St. Mirren are probably our best bet for such a result this season. And this is our best chance yet to go TOP OF THE SPL!!! :003:
  22. While house prices in and around Inverness have nearly doubled in the last few years, during the same period the cost of building materials and labour has only gone up in line with inflation. At a guess I'd say we're talking about a period of the last 6 or 7 years. So if you've got a plot of land at a decent price, and you build your own house, then as soon as the house is complete, it's value nearly doubles. Why aren't more people doing it then? Well I guess it's not so easy for everybody to get hold of the initial capital. Be careful with the neighbours though - there's some strange people living in the hills around Loch Ness! Sorry about this boring post, but Hamish did ask a question!
  23. People who refer to their dog as "my baby". As well as being biologically unlikely, it has sinister implications of inter-breeding across the species divide. Plus it annoys the crap outa me!
