i like your idea dougal...caley strip for home and thistle strip for away.... not sure i agree with the merger thing though, if people are hung up about it still then TS move on and get a grip. the club shouldnt be pandering to these non fans anyway...they should either be behind the club and support it fully or not at all
-
not sure im entirley behind that idea to be honest..... anything that could be used to fire up there players is a bad idea in my books and to be honest if i was ally mccoist i would have them sitting in the dressing room and tell them to listen... someone out there is taking the mick out of you you need tto go out there and stand up and be counted...show them that this team is not dead etc etc etc. it has happened time and time again that players open there mouths about an opposing team and it backfires massively

you beat me to it alex.... been discussing things at work on this matter with a jambo and have come to the following conclusions the top end types like your mcgregors etc will be put on the market to raise funds. the first time also rans on high wages will be punted on at cut price to get them of the wage bill the fringe first teamers may become the backbone the better youth not in the first team set up will step up to form part of the main playing squad the youth that would likely have fallen at the wayside anyway will be let go to free up wages again we arent going to get any of the established names coming to us and frankly i wouldnt want them...... rangers have got themselves into this mess but we are all going to pay the price

lifted from the bbc but essentially boils down to the last paragraphs http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17063322 kenny cameron been given assurances by the spl and the administrators more importantly to assure them that the money from the game will be paid within the agreed timescales

it wouldnt surprise me if they did owe us money when the list comes out it will probably contain a lot of things people will be massively surprised by.... to be honest though i find the whole affair quite sad. its saying something that this countrys league has allowed one of its two biggest clubs to get into this state. i am largely in agreement with caley d on this matter. something needs to be done and i fear it will involve some years of hurt before coming out the other side. sadly i dont think clubs like rangers and celtic are going to come out of this smelling of roses. the smaller clubs in the end will shine through this and i can see a less attractive league with respect to tv rights not far off on the horizon but there will be a desire from the fans to watch football that will support it
-
very sad that it doesnt have any effect on the league table... they are still 2nd
-
not sure on the ins and outs of it but noticed they are making murmerings about players being made redundant.... any chance andy shinnie might be able to persuade one or tow of the younger fringe players to come up our way ( geussing they would be off the books as a redundancy rather than an attempt to sell)

41 points pre split.. would be very happy with that alex.... would like to think that would see us safe too

williams sent off :(

Really hope that neil lennon tries to have a go at Terry at full time.......
-
1-0 down at half time, to be honest i happy enough with that. any points we take from the old firm are a bonus so to still be holding our own and in with a shout of a point is good in my eyes

use the link at the top or go to the bbc page...not sure why the bbc arent contractually alowed to broadcast there own coverage but this is a frequent problem

brown to score first for ict???? from a penalty....i know they are running away with the league but im pretty sure there are rues about getting players from the other team to take a penalty for you
-
was doing a little poking about and was just wondering how many points folk thought we would need to be safe? before all the smart alecs come on and start saying one more than 12th place and we should be going out to win every game and not just trying to avoid relegation. this is more along the lines of how many points do you think the relegated team will have? looking on the spl site i see we were relegated with the highest points total of 37 but i get the gut feeling that the team going down this year will be some way short of that im thinking 35 - 40 would see us comfortably safe but the team going down could be as low as about 26 ish

just a thought but how about next season trialing an entire season ticket. meaning that you pay a one off fee that gives you entrance to all the games, cup, friendly the works. would be a good start if you asked me

this is under a new thread as i could probably tie it into several that are currently running at the moment. if any of the mods want to move this to the thread thet feel most appropriate then please feel free :- i would like to respond to a few things that are running in various threads at the moment and felt this was the most appropriate way, i may even bring up a couple of new points for you all to laugh at me over :) 1. I stayed away from yesterdays came for a few reasons. a) i work 3 weekends a month just now and the wife is understandably a bit annoyed at the prospect of me spending my only saturday off away at the game for a good chunk of the day b) i unfortunately cant run to the half tank of fuel, match ticket, programme pie and drink it would cost to go right now. c) the weather yesterday was dire and i didnt fancy freezing my bits off d) i was working with my father in law on his farm to help him get some jobs done(my daughter and wife helped too before anyone points that bit out) 2. owing to a change in work patterns i have had to surrender my season ticket this year as i can ill afford to spend £300+ on a luxury item that will not get used to maximum benifit 3. i do object to the away fans behaviour and attitudes and would certainly feel that this could be a deciding factor on attending a game or not, particularly as i am looking to a suitable match to take my young daughter to for her first game now you may think that the above comments make me less of a fan than you and if you want to think that then so be it but before you judge let me add this. back in october i worked very hard with the club to conceive and organise the armed forces and veterans appreciation day, i have also been working with the cub to try to arrange a team bonding day. this is a link i am trying to forge for the good of the club and the good of the local forces. the club have been fantastic in respect of helping with this and have bent over backwards to assist. we are still looking to organise some things that will help not only the club but the the locals too. i have often endured a fair amount of **** taking from work colleagues for supporting the guys but have always come back with the same response. YOU HAVE TO SUPPORT YOUR HOME TEAM. i may not be at many matches right now but it does not mean that i am any less of a fan
