Mini stands
I was quite impressed with the new stand considering the timescale involved in setting it up. :021:

A refreshment or two.
Didn't keep him long though. Enjoyed the company and the entertainment on Friday night, just a shame the weekend celebrations were cut short by Saturday at 2.15pm.

Good auld Gretna
Think we'll have a few more games before we can decide who's going down.

Welcome to Stepford
Royal 'we' Scotty. I'm not saying it was great today, but I have to say it was better than I expected.!!!! We did have a trust board member present at the singing section throughout the game today, just in case there were any issues we might have to deal with, but as far as I am aware everything was okay. It's an SPL ground rule that you're not allowed to stand in a seated area, and that applies to all fans. There were a number of Rangers fans ejected from the ground today and some of those for persistent standing.
-
First team to be docked points by the SPL this season ?
The police don't enforce the rules, that's the stewards job. Only when someone commits an offence or have to be ejected (following committing an offence) will the police get involved. It is an ongoing problem and one which we will never probably completely resolve, but I did see more 'away' fans thrown out today than ever before. When they stood up to celebrate the Rangers goal, they were all removed. I can't see section G from me seat, but if you can write to the club with the seat numbers they can trace the purchaser. I suggest you make formal complaints if you were offended by 'away' fans in the area you were seated.

Welcome to Stepford
I thought the Rangers fans sat down today more that usual, yes there were some standing at times, but not throughout the game as before. I believe that they now have a dedicated section of Rock Steady who follow them to all away games and also work at Ibrox for home games. This means that the stewards are better trained to deal with them and to be fair I didn't think they were too bad today. The singing was another issue and is clearly being addressed by the club/Rangers and the SPL

Welcome to Stepford
Some positives today re stewarding. They are not usually very keen to remove 'away' fans. I've heard excuses like they have paid for the seat so they are entitled to sit in it, or we've nowhere else to put them. They should quite simply be removed from the ground. When Rangers scored their first goal there were a number of fans in section A of the main stand who celebrated the goal. They were all removed by police and stewards. 15 in total I believe. There were also a few taken out of the north stand. If the fans you refer to above were abusive towards a steward, it's up to the steward to report them to the police and I agree they should have been removed not relocated. As for the singing section, we cannot let them stand throughout the game, although there was a little leniancy today towards standing for short periods. Unfortunately they didn't have much to sing about and stayed pretty quiet throughout most of the game. I hope this will be a positive exercise and we'll find the right level between supporting the team and complying with the rules of the game.

Season Ticket Sales
For a child visiting 6 times a year you would be as well getting a season ticket. Some good season ticket deals about for kids, especially if you are a centenery club member. :004:

Quite a few have moved now. With the short notice I think if we can half fill the singing section/west stand then we'll be doing well. I'll be there from 11.30am so see you there. :021: :021: :021:

Bazza to get testimonial
I think he will have a fantastic testimonial season. From what I've heard it sounds pretty good so far. I'm sure it will be well supported.

Well done to those of you who have already swapped tickets. The earlier this is done means longer to re-sell the vacated seats. I know they are being snapped up pretty quickly as we were pretty close to selling out. Please don't leave this until Saturday - for 2 reasons. 1. It will already be really busy at the stadium and 2. They won't have time to sell the other seats. If you can't get there until Saturday can you please phone and arrange in advance so that it can all be processed and ready for collection on the day. Due to the timescale I don't think we'll see a sell out, but hopefully it will be well supported. From Monday I believe that the new stand will be on sale as normal for season tickets and on a per match basis.

Okay, I have just spoken to the ticket office and here's the plan for this week only. If you are a season ticket holder, you can exchange your Match 1 ticket from your book for a seat in the new stand, this will release your seat for re-sale for this game. Please do this as soon as possible to give them a chance to sell the seats. If you can't get into the ticket office then contact them by phone and they will book a seat for you which you can pick up on Saturday in exchange for the ticket from your book. From Monday season tickets can be purchased or exchanged for the West Stand. If you are not a season ticket holder can you PM me for details of how to get a ticket. Can the drummer who spoke to Alan Savage at the Elton John concert also PM me please.

My understanding is that you will have the option to move freely for most games, but not the bigger games. I have a meeting tomorrow and will have more information then as the Supporter's Trust have been asked to help out with the implementation for this game. As far as I know at the moment if you want to be in the singing section for Saturday, then you must release your current ticket and exchange for a singing section ticket. North stand prices will apply. If you do this soon enough then the club can re sell your seat and begin to re coup the costs involved. So all we need now is some enthusiastic people to buy into this to make it a success. The logistics of changing tickets is going to be a bit of a nightmare, but hopefully it will be worth it.

work permit
I know that everyone is working hard to get this through, but yesterday I overheard someone saying I hope you get your work permit soon and his 'agent?' replied that he WILL get it. He was very confident it will happen - eventually.

I thought the banter was good yesterday. Atmosphere was good and the support behind the goal did make us chuckle a couple of times. I can see where people are coming from if they had kids asking questions. There's always 1 or 2 who just don't know when enough is enough. Personally I didn't see or hear what is being talked about above, but it sounds like at least one person was a bit OTT. Off topic I know, but as it was mentioned above I'll pick up on it. Ritchie Hart is bound to bet a bit of a hard time following recent allegations. I did laugh at some of the chants and like I say he really can't expect anything else. What I did think was a bit crazy was when we were defending a corner and RH was at the back post, the assembled gang behind the goal started their chanting. Although humerous, why try to distract him when he has an important part to play? If he had then made a mistake the same group would have been giving him pelters for that. Trying to put off the opposition goalie is a different thing and expected I'm sure - Clach game for instance was quality banter, by many of the same group. Well done guys for creating a good atmosphere, but maybe just a little more thought into what you shout and when.

The Link in the Problems
Okay I can now confirm the facts. Errea do have a factory in Romania where some of the really large orders are made. Our order is relatively small and is definitely made in Italy and the same place they make the ham. :003: The down side to that is that we no longer have the opportunity to have the problem solved along with the work permit. Unless of course we now sign a foreign player who is based in Italy. That should sort it out.
-
The Link in the Problems
Sorry - My apologies.
-
The Link in the Problems
Rings a bell, think I read that somewhere. It makes sense withholding his permit until all his aquaintances in Romania get working to get the order ready. That should hurry both things along. :024: Don't think we have done the 'what colour were we playing in yesterday' topic yet. Mmmmmm was it the new strip, but I suppose that they might have come direct from the Errea factory in ITALY and not via Romania. :029: Ouch my head hurts. :015:
