Shields as opposed to Shiels, it is confusing though
  2. Today was his first day, I met him this morning when I was down picking up tickets. :021:
  3. You are of course spot on SMEE and these corporate dinners are a good networking opportunity. On this occasion, however the tables have not been sold to the 'usual' corporates, as there wasn't even a mailing to invite them. All the tables have been sold by word of mouth within 3 days of the booking forms being printed. We were fortunate enough to be able to have a pre-booking period for fans and the uptake was very good, the other tables are at least 90% in support of Barry. No arm twisting required in any shape or form.
  4. Yes he will and Ross had his testimonial last year. I think Barry has been a great servant to ICT and thoroughly deserves his testimonial. His dinner has sold out without even being advertised so that suggests I'm not alone.
  5. You are right Proctor, but as I said I think that the social club is leased or at least managed by somebody, so the football club doesn't really benefit from these events.
  6. Mee was in attendance, just in the cheap seats. :015:
  7. Clach have their annual fundraising dinner coming up on Friday 7th March. If it is well supported they could raise ?14,000 on this night alone. I know that their players only receive a token amount for their services, and I think that the social club is leased out at the moment, but there must be some scope somewhere for improvement. I do think the board have to take a look at things very urgently. They must have agreed the cost of the rent, so the board should be budgeting accordingly. I would hate to see Clach disappear from the face of the earth, so I hope they get it sorted soon.

I don't think he expects a similar wage to Niculae, just that the gap is bridged a bit. I totally agree that he should hold out for a better deal. He has an agent who could actively seek another club for him, but I would think this would have to be in England. I'm certain that given the chance he will stay, but you have to appreciate that this will probably be his most significant contract due to his age. I hope they do try to at least make him a decent offer. The club were always going to try to get them to sign on the cheap, but don't forget the agents part in the negotiations. I'm sure they will be pushing for the best offer possible.
  9. As far as I know the team travelled down tonight, but I have also heard that the game is very much in doubt. It's the curse of the 1000th goal. :009:

Barry obviously wants to play football, but I think he'll stick it out here at least until the end of the season. A loan deal wouldn't affect his testimonial season, but a move might make it a bit difficult. Don't think he'll go on loan though, although I could be wrong.
  12. My favourite so far. :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03:
  13. :021: :021: Well done mannie, you are indeed the Mannforthejob. :clapping03:
  14. I'm definitely an old fart, but that's exactly what I think when I hear the name Ultras, hence the preference for a different name.
  15. Not sure, I probably like the Bridge end reference, but I'm not keen on the Ultras tag.
  16. We were winning 1-0 when I left, but the Mannie was compiling a bit of a report, so I'm sure he'll be along shortly with a full time report.
  17. I like the idea, but would have to agree with some others, that another name would maybe be better.
  18. :021: :021: :021: :021: I agree, I would like to see him have more time in a game. I would also be happy for him to score the 1000th goal, a fitting milestone for him in his testimonial year.
  19. I have asked people with complaints to get in touch and so far not one response. If we know where these fans were sitting in the home end, we can find out who sold the tickets and act accordingly.
  20. Most SPL clubs don't provide car parks at all. Anyway back to the main issue. I do know that the club are trying harder and harder to ensure that these seats go to 'home' fans only. It is almost impossible to stop people buying tickets. They now have their database and can see who the true fans are and the ones who only go to Rangers or Celtic games, but we have season ticket holders who supported the old firm in a previous life, maybe they use priviledged pre-sale period to buy for friends. Also heard of a Rangers and Celtic fan who share a season ticket, allowing them to buy tickets legitimately for the home end for these games. I'm guessing these would be the more discreet 'away' fans though as they do this all the time. The police are right, as in it is a stewarding issue and the police can only get involved if a criminal offence is comitted. I do believe that looking back to our first ganes against the old firm, things are improving, but we still have a problem. Alex is right though, we would not sell out if it wasn't for a some 'away' fans, so if they sit and behave and don't show colours, I don't have a huge problem. I did hear of rangers fans who came through the turnstiles in the main stand with tops and scarves on display and later were removed after a bit of an altrication in the Gents. They seemed to be of the opinion they had every right to be there. How stupid can you get. We could talk about the rights and wrongs of it all day, but where do we go from here. If you had a problem with away fans (celebrating inappropriately or being abusive), do you know the seat numbers? The club will know who bought these seats and will be able to block these sales for future games. Season ticket holders could see themselves penalised if they have bought tickets for away fans. Supporters Trust could bring this up again at our monthly meeting with the club, so if we have definite details it would help. No point moaning that they were there and nobody would deal with it. Let's get to the bottom of it for once and for all and find out where they are coming from. Taking action now, just might help for next time. e-mail: [email protected] and/or [email protected]
  21. I also drive a ford and I love the car, but the customer service side of things has been shocking
  22. I was a loyal customer of Inveralmond Motors. Found them great to deal with then Ness Motors took over and I experienced nothing but disrespect and down right arrogance. I now drive a Ford. Out of the frying pan and into the fire then. :001:
  23. You kind of answer yourself there. Unfortunately they are not depriving ICT fans of a seat as we never fill these seats any other time. It also is a sad fact that we would not sell out these games without a few 'away' fans infiltrating (spelling). If they don't show colours and don't celebrate inappropriately, then I don't have a huge problem with them being there, but if you see anything that causes you offence in anyway, report it to a steward in the first instance and they have to take some action. I do know that the club are trying their very best to sell to home fans only, but it's impossible to stop a few slipping through the net. I'm not saying it's right, but we are grateful of the increased revenue these games bring.
  24. This may just have reached the sun, but it isn't new news. Happened a wee while ago, he's already played since. Car didn't come out of it well, but he seems okay.
  25. Indeed :001: AGM had usual 'poor' AGM attendance, but you missed out on a good forum. I think this might have been one of the best. Good panel and good humour. There was one quote stands out from the rest, but Grassa still isn't speaking to me from something I posted weeks ago, so I'm not going to be the one to spill the beans. :rotflmao:
