  1. We were all well warned of these new football banning orders. I am still of the understanding that it was the police who pursued this matter and not the club. I could be wrong, but that is my understanding. As I have said elsewhere, I haven't been directly involved in this, only commenting on what I have heard.
  2. Sounded good from the confines of the sweetie rustling main stand. Well done to one and all.
  3. You may well be right, I wasn't involved, just commenting on hear say. I do know that it was the police who were determined to take the action though. The unfortunate thing is that 1 person is singled out for punishment, but that's what they do. I suspect if they had the manpower available there may be more of you in the same boat.
  4. You will be very welcome, let us know when you are heading north and we'll arrange for you to meet a few of the friendly folks from this board
  5. Stewart was banned for standing. My understanding is that he wasn't banned for standing, but for foul and abusive conduct towards the stewards and police. A big difference. At the Arbroath game the stewards didn't get involved until some fans just pushed the bounaries and were sitting and hanging over the back wall of the West Stand (I'm sure you would have noticed the boards which have been erected to avoid a repeat) It was the people who assumed the steward had an issue with them standing and became abusive towards the stewards and the police. Chants of 'If you hate the f***ing stewards clap your hands is hardly likely to enamour them. It was the police and not the stewards or the club who were annoyed at the behaviour of the fans on that night, especially the ones who ran to the gate in protest. This is the reason that the new restrictions were imposed on the West Stand. Rightly or wrongly this is the facts as far as I know them.
  6. Following pitch invasions from the away stand, there has been a small barrier built on top of the wall, not very high, but just a bit of a deterent. If the referee includes todays incident in his report, the club will be reported and probably fined. I'm not sure that everyone realises that the club can be fined for their fans behaviour. Will that 1 fan who jumped the wall still feel like it was the right thing to do if he costs the club thousands of pounds?
  7. Caff for me please

  10. I was working, but I was on a break when it was at it's worst. Parked on Castle Wynd we were able to pop up to the Castle where there was a clear view. Don't expect there will be much left of it today. The ariel platform had finished before I came home about midnight. They were pumping the water from the river by Ness Bank Church.

I suspect they chose an away game to utilise the stadium when they have no hospitality to move out first. I agree with you CaleyD, but I suspect they underestimated the away support for the Gretna game. I'm planning Gretna and I know a few others who are going too. This is over and above the regulars who go to most away games. (Bus should definitely be a goer for this one) I think they have priced it for the fans market, so it is a shame that it clashes with such a big game for us. I won't be missing the game to attend the event, although I would have gone if I was here. It is good to see that they are trying something different though.

I noticed that too and pointed it out. I'm sure it will sell out regardless as it's reasonably priced and as it's at the stadium they can't accomodate very high numbers anyway.

There is indeed a new Rangers shop in the Eastgate Centre. It is run by JJB and JJB also have extensive Rangers sections in both shops.
  14. ICT will win on Saturday. :015:
  15. I think Fraser is a great keeper and has a really good future in the game. Criticism about him not coming off his line seems a common theme. This was never the case before, he was more of a Jimmy Calder type goalie who gave us some heart stopping moments outside the box. We now have a full time goal keeping coach, is he the one dishing out these instructions. Can anyone here say that Ikey has improved under his reign? Mark Brown was a fantastic mentor for Mike and I think he has suffered since Mark left. Still think he has the natural ability though and will continue to serve us well.

    Does anybody...

Why not, we have a good record against the old firm. I'm confident we can at least get a draw.
