  1. A few posters on here think things might have been different on Saturday if we had got the penalty. However I don't think anyone has mentioned that at one point, Foran was clear through on goal and passed the ball to Eagle on his left, rather than taking the shot. I was surprised to see this, and even more surprised to see TB applaud him for for pass. In fact, I actually was begining to think I'd imagined it, until I read a match report and the reporter mentioned it. Did I miss something, was their a reason he didn't shoot and pass it? and why was TB happy about it?, can anyone shed some light ??
  2. Bit rusty near 20 years ago since I got that degree and I scraped through it in an alcoholic haze. However, start my mental health nursing degree next week, and I think this forum will prove an excellent resourse. This weekend in particular I've picked up on some good examples of: Narcissistic and Schizoid personality disorders.
  3. I think it must be a huge problem motivating a team week in week out. Basically every match you are saying the same thing. If my or your boss came to you twice a week (cup games at mo) and gave you a motivational lecture, it would start to wear a bit thin very quickly... I'd be switching off, noding in agreement... but not really responding. Particularily when things have on the whole been going ok (6 or 7 games undefeated) Perhaps, performance related pay ? and a bit more squad rotation is the answer. I don't know... A defeat like Saturday's has to be the biggest motivator surely...
  4. Original poster was a County troll up to mischief...

"All the other new boys seem to be improving, if inconsistently" Nice to see someone is prepared to say something positive!!
  6. The club have brought this on themselves to some extent, the "bounce back into the SPL line"... which has given some fans totally unrealistic expectations... They have done this because it's what these kind of fans want to hear ! It sells season tickets! However history shows that it's a near impossible goal, it takes time to build a new team and thats where we are at present. If we had money perhaps we could buy a team of experienced players and do this but he don't.... The first is a competitive league with only one promotion slot, their are teams in this league that are stronger than us at the moment. fact!! cos they have been rebuilding for a few years. Sorry you guys couldn't see this, having your bubble burst in such a cruel way by County... must be hard to take.
  7. FFS, get a grip.. don't feed the County Troll... The first is a far tighter league than the SPL was, the team that will win it is the team that is consistant... It's too early in the season and we have too many new young inexperienced players to expect to have a level of consistancy at present. When our new team, play well they are playing better football than we have played for a while and when they play badly are rubbish (as in yesterday) this is the stage we are at in starting to build a team to challenge for the First. We don't have the money to buy in a squad of experienced players, and some of ours are getting past it.. What Butcher is doing is the only course of action possible... If you sack him, then your not only not giving him a fair chance, you are also going to put the club in a even worse financial position. As paying him off and getting in a new manager will only result in a smaller, weaker squad. Wake up and smell the coffee folks, we had 5 seasons in the SPL a good run for a club our size. Now we have to start again.. build a new team, get consistancy, find new talent, that is going to take time.. We have brought in 6-7 new players with next to no first team experience, if 3 of them cut it, we will be doing well... we also have our existing youngsters who also need brought on...
  8. deffo time for Richard Hastings to come back in over Zadi
  9. Talking shyte does not constitute mind games. Witty, insightful banter (are we not aliens springs to mind) is. Retard. I have a psychology degree and have 3 daughters and a wife... when you have these qualifications, come on here and tell me what is and what is not mind games... idiot!

Agreed we are being a bit harsh, he is new to pro football but has obviously had good coaching at Washington DC.. Skills & Fitness I imagine would be his thing, given this Physical Education qualification. Think he has done ok in other games, just not today....

I think perhaps the board are too blame. When Butcher signed Stratford he told us he did so because he needed utility players (players that could play in more than one position, because we were looking at a squad of 22). Stratford fitted the bill could play in defence or midfield... Then board relented and let Butcher have more players/wages budget... if Butcher had know this at time of signing the utility feature of Stratford would have not been a prime consideration... Stratford was signed in a hurry and seems a intelligent (just finnished PE degree), decent lad, as a trialist he perhaps looked better than others as he was in a better state of fitness (due to his PE thing)... think TB was swayed by Stratford the guy not so much Stratford the player who was unknown..
  12. Marius and Barrowman spring to mind... Butcher must have cost us as did sacking Brew.. (payoff!)
  13. Our chairman is wanting us to bounce back to the SPL and yet he has given TB money to spend on players. Something not right there? Where do you suggest that money comes from... suppose we could always do a Livi !! These new guys are on one year contracts and less than ?1000 a week. Cost to have for season less than 52k each.. Add up 6 times that, thats 300k.. Dundee have single players that are costing them more than that... (sign on + wages for year)
  14. We didn't bin Mihadjuks, he was here on loan and it would have cost as money to sign him as he was and is under contract. I doubt his Latvian home club had been willing to let him go, he came on a lot at ICT. Anyhow their old coach that didn't fancy him changed. New coach heard good things, and was keen to give him more of a chance.. We have had to make huge cuts as a result of going down, all our new signings have had to come too us on a free. Where is Butcher too look?? He has contacts in the English game... so that is where he looked... What standard of Scottish players do you propose to get on a free?. These English guys are at least coming from a better level than the Scottish third, you can see they are not rugby players and have some technical ability, they have been coached full time and had the facilitys of bigger clubs than ICT...
  15. "Take your point on Pavels with regard to signing him but the fact remains that TB removed him from the centre of defence long before he left the club, choosing not to play him or stick him at right back." Is this the case or was he injured cannot remember?? However if this is true, and given that we also dropped Esson for Fraser. Then between these two changes, it prob cost us the SPL..
  16. Think you are being a touch harsh Sorted. We didn't offer Pavels a contract because he was not avaliable on a free.. We would have had to pay for him. In case you have not noticed we have not paid a fee for any of our new players. All our new players are young and enthusistic but lack first team experience. Today that showed.. But how are they going to become battle hardened if we don't play them? On their day, they have all done ok.. Just last week we drew with the favourites to win this league with the same team.
  17. Lionel made one terrific block, but other than that he was terrible today... he made countless mistakes... he's just far far too inconsistant and in my opinion should be dropped.. We are still trying to pass the ball into the net.. Rooney needs to learn to just hit the ball, instead of trying to control it and tee it up for a shot, by the time he does the opportunity is lost.
  18. Adams likes to think he can play mind games. But if that's the best he can come up with then he'd be better off not doing it..
  19. PMSL does look a bit like IHE right enough!!
  20. Blackieforce perhaps Homebase might be better tommorow than B&Q. Homebase have 15% off everything 28th/29th. Probably, trying to entice the t**ks to paint their caravans!!
  21. There I was sitting in my mates house in Inverness chilling , My 8 year old being baby sat by my middle step daughter. When 8yr old texts me simply saying "Get Home Now!" I phones she's in floods of tears and hysterical, saying that their was a massive spider in her bedroom, that her sister was screaming at her and her sisters boyfriend was teasing and winding her up. So jump in car and drive back to the village.... and sort out everyone and get rid of spider! The joys of parent hood!! Come on the Caley Jags...
  22. When the P&J reporter suggested to TB that our new players won't be prepared for the Derby match with County. Butcher said: ?The new players are not a bunch of aliens who have arrived here on space rockets" Loving his style almost as good a quote as the "I'm waiting to get my Scottish Tourism Hospitality Award" when he was talking about introducing trialists to Inverness.
  23. "i shall be in my cow suit" Stirling Observer Rather worrying the "my" bit, why the feck do you own a cowsuit ??. Is it one of various farmyard animal suits you have in your wardrobe or did you buy it for a part in panto or something??
  24. Call me old fashioned, but given that we were relegated on goal difference, I'd far rather we beat County 3-0 or more and vastly improve our g/d in case it's a factor in promotion.
  25. Stratford might not take long shots, but he makes a better pass and can take a corner unlike Duncan.
