  1. The timing is unbelievable, it's 60 hours roughly until the start of the season and unlikely the league's can go ahead as planned. Ross County were to play Livi on Saturday, now they won't.. they will play Airdrie (now promoted). Or will they? I think a appeal will be launched so no match will take place, Airdrie will be in limbo as will Livi as will Cowdenbeath as will their opponents... This could result in the SFL having to put all league matches on hold until this is resolved. Going to Dunfermline this Saturday (You may need too think again!!) wouldn't surprise me if all league matches are called off until this is resolved. What a mess!! Well done SFL!!
  2. "Livingston will survive, and they will find their level and McDougall and Rankine will help them with that" CaleyD What makes you think that, I suggest they are likely to walk away and leave Livi to perish!
  3. Shocking decision by the SFL.!!! Hope they have the necessery to challenge it in Court!! They gave assurances to those that came in to rescue the club last week that relegation would not happen. Obviously these guys wouldn't have come in to save Livi, if relegation was on the cards as their buisness plan hung on Livi being allowed to remain in SFL 1 (this season). The creditors lose out too as the CVA will now either not happen and Livi will go under or will be reduced even further in % to debt terms.. And what off the fans, they SFL led them to believe they were safe from relegation and were too rebuild, now they may not even survive!
  4. Could be a mate of TB's, he does move in these kind of circles.
  5. Dougie is tenacious on the wing, like a jack russell chasing down a rabbit.. looks much better in this position than as the makeshift striker he was last season. Don't want to lose him think he could be a key player in our ascenion.

    So....

I think that it's good to see a bit of positivity.... especially after last seasons low.... Try hard enough and you can pick holes in any of the sides being talked about, and give a reasonably rational argument why the won't get promoted this year. The Dundee fans have huge belief (indeed they way they carry on on some of the forums they think they have it already in the bag), this could work to our advantage when they hit bad patches, as the fans wil be totally on their backs.. We need to be positive, but realistic, their will be many ups and downs , but we need too watch we...are not too quick too overtly criticise and do more harm than good.
  7. Not pish, but not that good either ! "As I was re-educated last week, some loan deals the owning club still pays his wages so free transfer means free!! players are sent out on loan to get first team exsperiance, instead of bench warming for 30 odd games.... if hes 3rd choice hes cutting oranges...." georgeios Doubt, in the current economc climate there will be many loan deals like this, and I doubt Motherwells finances would allow this...
  8. Don't think there is money here for his wages at moment. Suspect Butcher is spent out...can only see it happening if some of our contracted players get loaned out or moved on.
  9. "He has a unique perspective on life as do many other authors who write down their thoughts for money." Scarlet. I wouldn't say anything that Tolle says is unique, nor would he..his ability to communicate concept might be and I'm a bit confused are you saying it is wrong to write a spiritual book and get paid for being the author... In India it is accepted that some individuals don't take part in society but sit and meditate, think, seek higher planes of existance/spirituality. These people are respected and ordinary folk donate food, clothes and shelter to these people. In our respective countrys it is far harded to do this and Tolle lived as a hobo for several years observing and thinking, allow himself the space to get his level of perception... but a time came when he had to seek a way to support himself and move back into society, to teach and develope his work further. I certainly don't grudge him a wage for what he does. "Healing" is a psychological manifestation - if you are clever enuff you can get peeple to believe - or convince or even trick them, think IHE has been reading too many CBT books... Along my path, Bio Energy therapy has helped me. I do not doubt that often spirital healing brings about physical manifestations not simply psychological ones, cannot be explained in scientific terms though... it would be like trying to describe colour to a person that could only see in black/white.
  10. I have first hand experience of the power of spirituality in my life. I'd probably be dead or in a mental hospital if I hadn't been touched by spirit and found a spiritual way of life. I think you will find most recovering addicts, like myself... find the same path! Recently I have been impressed by the writings of Echart Tolle are you familiar with him, Mr Scarlet.. G (can the mods think about moving this to anything goes)
  11. Whist I'm no great fan of Tokely, I think he is a better right back than Proctor!! Also Tokely adds more in attack... than Proctor..
  12. Last season, we simply were not getting enough balls into the box, for the strikers to score. Barrowman in particular thrives on balls coming into the the box (poor mans Chris Boyd!! lol). I'm encouraged this season, as we have more width and Eagle in particular seems to have the ability to whip a good ball in there. If you consistantly put pressure into this area the goals will happen..

    So....

How can you write us off like that, before a ball is kicked? Personally, I think it's between us and Dundee.. I actually think we have a stronger squad than last year.
  14. Whats unfair is that the rules have been changed for Livi. Other clubs that have gone to the wall in the past have not had this option. Of course in Livi's case the timing was too their advantage, with the seasons fixtures just about to start the SFL wanted to maintain the status quo. I hear that the investors that came in made it clear that they were only going to invest if Livi stayed in the first. So it looks like they have had assurances that they will not be demoted if they can stay up this season. As they didn't technically go into liquidation (and as the SFL have taken a soft line) it looks like they could avoid a points penalty too. To be honest the SFL's handling of this stinks... if they had got involved sooner, this situation could have been avoided... One things for sure it sets a very dangerous president for the future.
  15. Vic Reeves not funny at all !! Al Murray (The Pub landlord) good! Lee Evans comic genius... !!
  16. Country and Western is my personal hate...

    So....

Cannot see us bringing in any more players, indeed talk now is of loaning a couple out. Butcher already has a striker with a bit of physical presence he's reinvented Foran in that roll.
  18. Cannot see us signing anyone else with Sanchez and Bulvitis being offered deals. The squad size is already far larger than originally planned. Even though we got all these guys free, our wages bill must will be much higher than anticipated (Worried where this is coming from!!). Agents fees are probably costing us too, in this day and age there is really no such thing as a free transfer!! G
  19. Scared I will miss the sign up thread as I have to go to bed now and night shift tonight. So please count me in. Thanks, G
  20. I'm smiling ear to ear and we lost! Much better, nice to see the ball on the deck more often, some decent passes, some dangerous & acurate crossing and some inventive play and chances created.
  21. "Hopefully we are able to land Sanchez then, although if I had offers from ICT and any Spanish team for the same amount of wages it would really be a no-brainer". Perhaps not, it might be the case that Sanchez would be taken on to warm the bench of a Spannish side, be well down in the pecking order to established strikers. I'd imagine he'd like to play and build his player profile with a view to the future. If he comes to ICT he can pretty much be assured of a first team place, as long as he's less gash than what we have at moment... lol (not including Foran in the gash comment!!)
  22. "It's not for me to judge who has genuine need.....as I said, that's all a matter for personal conscience" Well said CaleyD ! Please people don't judge people by how they look.. I worked for a while in a renal unit, the younger patients on the whole looked fit and healthy, yet they were very very ill. They had to come to hospital 3 times a week for 6 hours to be attached to a machine to have their blood cleaned or they would die. Time and time again, they told me how embarrising it was parking in a disabled space and having other disabled and well people look at them and sometimes challenge them and tell them they were at it.. The same is true of many other physical & mental illnesses. You can be really ill but look ok to the casual observer. Nobody should judge need apart from those with the knowledge to do so.. Doctors etc.
  23. Smee I think you should take advantage off it and any other concessions elsewhere you can. I identify with your situation, in that due to my depessive illlness I chose to go part time because I realised that at the time I was not strong enough to work full time (I also wanted to aid my own recovery) I am sure if I had battled on trying to work full time, I would have ended up in a much worse state, healthwise and would have become unemployable and probably would have lost my wife and child The flipside of this is whilst my health has dramatically improved (taken 2-3years) and I'm now looking to re-train for a full time career, my debt situation has gotten much worse. Which also is a negative factor in my fight to attain mental health wellness. G
  24. Looks to have a good footballing brain, but seems a bit lightweight.
