    A small point

Charlie doesn't even appear to acknowledge the subbed player, let alone shake their hand!
  2. What a f'kin tackle!! Ben obviously doesn't believe in namby pamby, half hearted 'tackling' :010: Mendes is lucky to still be alive after that assault! I think Thatcher could be facing quite a lengthy ban...
  3. Bayne played really well I thought. Dennis didn't. I'd swap Bayne for Dennis on Saturday. Morgan was excellent as well, other than that the rest were very ordinary.....mind, some were crap too. Not much of a game, we were lucky to go in level at HT, but we totallt dominated in the second half. At least we're through is probably the best way of looking at it.
  4. Bloody good at free kicks though :006:
  5. Rankin certainly LOOKS like he has what it takes, and in all the matches so far he's shown glimpses of real quality. The trouble so far is that he tends to drift out of the game quite a lot, and there's times when it's easy to forget he's on the park. Give him time though. As for Dennis....I don't know what's wrong with him but he's a shadow of the player we know he can be. I agree his general game around the field has been much improved the last few games, but he's there to score...and he just doesn't look like doing that. He hasn't scored since February now?? If that was any striker other than Dennis they'd be getting a lot more flak IMO. Dargo has had a quiet couple of games by his standards, but his link up play, and his first touch are exceptional still. He's a very confident player too, unlike Dennis, and you just know that sooner, rather than later he's going to do something. Dargo would be the first player on my teamsheet every week. Mind, this long high ball ***** we've seen a lot of recently it doesn't help either Dennis or Dargs. We have to get back to playing to our, and their strengths....the ball to their feet. Two diddymen up front will never stand a chance against 6ft+ defenders if we keep knocking it high to them.
  6. We should go with our strongest team, and get a resounding win. It will boost Dennis's confidence no end if he can get himself a goal or two, likewise Dargo. A decent win will set us up nicely for Hearts next week, they're there for the taking...they'll be knackered, and down, after their trip to Greece this week.
  7. They can't say we didn't warn them :015: :015: :015:http://boards.footymad.net/mboard/fmb.php?...;mid=2135985147
  8. Good team Harry, one I'd like to see. Don't think Charlie will agree though.
  9. We desperately need 2 players before the window shuts....and neither is a midfielder. We need cover in defence, and someone up front...desperately.
  10. He was crap aye, but to be fair, his crapness worked in our favour with Hastings. His manhandling of Sproule(was it?) on the deck could've easily got him a red, instead of the yellow he received.
  11. That was easily the best we've played this season IMO. We DO look really good when we keep it down, and while we did just boot it anywhere at times today, there was a definite improvement on the first two games. Very entertaing game for a 0-0, Hibs certainly played their part :clapping04:
  12. I thought he was fantastic today. For me he was easily our best player. Couldn't work out why Charlie saw a need to replace him. I'd have thought Rankin would've been the ideal candidate. From what I've seen of him he's certainly got some nice touches, and he's got plenty of skill, but it's easy to forget he's on the pitch at times. And he also contributed to the comedy moment of the day....him trying to nudge in front of the 9ft Hibs defender in the defensive wall :015: :015: :015:

    Dods

Totally agree. Proctor gives us cover in a range of positions. He's never let us down, in fact, he's always impressed whenever he's had the chance. And he's still young. What was the score/scorers??
  14. I'd make a couple of changes from Saturday... Brown Tokely Munro Caff Hastings Wilson Rankin Black McBain Dargo Bayne Drop Dods from now, make Tokely or Wilson captain. Denzil needs a rest!
  15. I like Bayne, his effort is always 100%, but I still don't think he's SPL quality. In saying that I thought we looked a much better team when he came on against Aberdeen on Saturday. He did more in just a wee time on the pitch than Dennis did in 70mins. And strangely, rather than the expected high balls up front, we started to play some decent on the deck stuff. I'd start him on Saturday.

    Dods

Get rid of him now. If he doesn't want to play for us then he shouldn't be in the team. He's been brilliant for the past two seasons, but so far this season he's been *****. His heart obviously isn't in it anymore, regardless of how well he celebrates our goals.
  17. Does this not leave us a bit short on defensive options? Hastings Dods(for how long??) Munro Caff Tokely Golly Any others??
  18. I noticed he wasn't even in the squad on Saturday...is he injured?? Or just dropped? I know he didn't get on with Brew too well, but when Charlie took over he seemed to come into the frame more. In fact, he played really well towards the end of the season IMO. Any news?
  19. That was the impressive statistic quoted for us on the radio last night....and two of them were away to Celtic. If only we could get the home form sorted out :017:
  20. What was Dargo's tackle on Anderson like? I was fully expecting the card to be red as he just seemed to lash out at him.
  21. Totally agree. We're a different team when we keep it on the ground. Our defenders seem too concerned with just getting it away, rather than look for the simple pass.
  22. Much better than last week. :003: Brown...didn't have much chance with the goal. Made one decent save from a Smith free kick, other than that I can't mind him having much to do. Kicking much better this week. Tokely...started off very shakily, but improved as the game went on. Dods....Poor. His mind seems to be elsewhere at the moment :006: Munro...excellent :clapping04: Hastings....excellent as well I thought. McBain...worked well with Hastings. Got forward a lot. Should retain the left spot. Black...hmmmm, Iain really needs to concentrate on what he's good at..football!! He seems to lunge in too readily, too easily, and it can overtake the footballing side of his game at times. Far from his best. Rankin...Not sure what to make of him yet. Shows a lot of neat, decent touches, but there were times today I forgot he was playing. Barry...MOTM???? No way, I thought Barry was poor. Got the goal though :clapping04: :clapping04: Wyness...Dennis just isn't doing it, still! :006: Dargo....battled with Anderson all afternoon, got frustrated at times at nothing going his way. Missed a sitter before the equaliser. I thought he was a bit lucky to get just a yellow when he lunged at Anderson, but was then almost cut in half by a disgraceful challenge by Foster?? minutes later. Subs... Bayne...well, I'm not Grahams greatest fan, but he did more in the short time he was on than Dennis did all game. Rory...no real time to make an impact. Keogh...don't think he touched the ball! Other than their goal I can't think Aberdeen had another decent chance all match? We were well worthy of a point, all 3 wouldn't have been undeserved. As I said, a million times better than last week. Changes for next week....Caff in for Dods. 2 poor games by Dods standards. If he's going to Utd then he should just go, otherwise he needs to put all the talk to one side and get back to being the defender he was last season. Bayne for Wyness? Maybe Dennis needs a rest!

    Dods

If he's every intention of leaving then we should cash in on him now. If we don't sell him now, then get Caff in alongside Munro, and let Dods warm the bench until he leaves.
  24. McBain!! Seriously though, where does Roy fit into all of this?? Never let us down, naturally left footed.....
