  1. Stv saying butcher isn't saying whether he's going or not!
  2. This is becoming a bit of a joke. Less than 24 hours until our game and we still don't know what is happening. All rumours so far until it's confirmed
  3. Is this actually confirmed? Don't want to just go on some random reporters twitter after other ones reported days ago that he had agreed terms which turned out to be rubbish.
  4. I had hoped he would stay but I am now resigned to him leaving. If he was going to turn it down he would have by now as it is getting far too late with the game tomorrow. Only conclusion I can come to is that he is accepting it and the clubs need to work out compensation. Hopefully I'm wrong and Butcher is just stringing Hibs along until the last minute but I can't see that.
  5. This has to be sorted today. Dragging on too long and we have a game in 2 days time which can't be helping us. At least Hibs have someone in place for Saturday and can plan for the game properly.
  6. I know it's a wee bit "my sister's dog's friends says..." type of thing, but with the news that Jimmy Nicholl will take the team on Saturday, the scenario of how things will pan out doesn't sound that farfetched. That site was full of this stuff this week. Suposedly Butcher was at Easter Road last night for meetings but he said himself that it was not true today. I think Nicholl being appointed to take the team would happen either way as it is only 3 days away and he will be working with the team in training and hibs have no definite date of when they will appoint a manager or dont actually know if Butcher will accept. They had no choice than to have him in charge on Sat. There is still hope!
  7. Hopefully he is just being polite in hearing what they have to say...
  8. Maybe they have agreed terms etc with Butcher but as they need to go through the club first and ask for permission Butcher is obviously going to say there has been no contact so that it looks like it is being done properly. Fully expect him to leave
  9. Time to start thinking about a replacement. Possible names who come to mind or who will probably be linked: Kenny Shiels Craig Levien (Maybe couldn't affor or want him anyway) Paul Sheerin Paul Hartely Barry Wilson
  10. Dundee Utd charged both their fans and Rangers fans half price for a re-arranged game that had been abandoned at half time. I think this led to a boycott from Rangers fans for that game. (This being before they boycotted anyone who didn't think they should be able to skip 3 leagues straight to the top) I very much doubt this will happen for this game though as to his credit Roy Macgreggor seems quite reasonable in offering support to fans. Did he not put on free busses for Hearts fans for a game that was postponed last season. After the game the announcer said to keep hold of the match tickets for the re-arranged game. I went and ripped mine up before the game without thinking!
  11. We should be able to sell out the away end at county easily
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if the newly formed Scottish British FBI are reading these posts and have the bigot police on stand by for our next game at Celtic park, I think these so called bigots would be very easy to spot, erm, well, they would have been if someone gave them their flag back. I'm still trying to work out the link between a guy taking a union flag to a Scottish football game and the reduction of my chances of being blown up by a Muslim as I walk the streets of the highlands.
  13. And no one has ever said they were offended by the flag, that has been made up by certain posters. What some people are saying is that with its associations in Scottish football we shouldn't be taking them to games.
  14. I couldn't care less if one of those boys decided to join the army or decided to be a bin man has nothing to do with their past behaviour. I have seen this same group of fans take a union flag to 3 other caley games, all against Celtic. And in every game they were singing about fienians, the pope and Scott browns dead sister. They are idiots. They didn't sing these songs on sat perhaps but they have in the past when they have taken a union flag to games. It has associations in Scottish football that we don't need. We play in a Scottish league and this flag is associated with one team in particular. Charles, better sticking to your independence paranoia which you seem obsessed about and that no one else mentioned
  15. . I agree! To call one of our fellow fans who is also a member of the armed forces an "idiot", frankly is deeply offensive and upsets me greatly!Agreed wholeheartedly! Come on Joe! Let's be having an apology from you to a brave man who has spent his professional career serving all over the world in the British armed forces under the flag which you - but apparently very few others - seem to find so offensive. These are men who tell us they are proud to serve in our British armed forces, and we are proud of them. It's also thanks to such men - and women - that in more recent decades, the chances of you being blown up as you walk along the high street have been minimised - whether the threat is Irish or Muslim. Many of these people have actually given their lives in the cause of your safety. Your gratitude is a long way short of impressive. So perhaps - having put up out of order - you could now shut up.... after you have issued a much needed and even more belated apology to this man. What a load of fuc**ng sh*te lol
  16. A reason for me to get one next season! This is not the case of a soldier putting Inverness on the flag of similar colours. Even if we forget the associations with rangers which we will then be connected to, which is something we don't really need. This is both political and sectarian in intentions which has no place at our games. I actually know some of those boys who have posted pictures of them holding their flag in the street. I've had the inconvenience of sitting near them on the train signing rule Britania and also singing about dirty fienian fuc*ers at Caledonian stadium. Still...let's be the rangers of the north eh
  17. You don't have talk some nonsense You started this nonsense! Aye its cause of the snp that the union flag is associated with rangers and their bigoted ways in Scottish football. Right you are. A few years ago there was the same bunch of boys waving a union flag and singing bigoted songs and every one condemned them as we don't need that association for our club, now everyone is suddenly part of the rule Britania brigade. Maybe join in with their fienian abuse at the next celtic game?
  18. Well that was a bit of a pathetic poll that was started. There is a bit of a difference between saying we shouldn't be taking union jacks to ict games and actually being offended by the flag. Out of the say 20 people I was speaking to on Saturday everyone made comments about who the hell took that flag to the game. Also interesting to note that the only time I have ever seen a union flag at an ict game before has been at games against celtic taken by the same guys and at one of those games they sang bigoted songs about fienians the whole time.
  19. That's not actually true by the way http://www.flaginstitute.org/wp/british-flags/the-union-jack-or-the-union-flag/
  20. There is no such thing as a British league. We play in a Scottish league. Was the flag purely brought to for political purposes which is what you are hinting at above, in that case it has no place at a caley thistle game unless you would be just as happy for yes flags or Scottish not British flags to be waved at the next game. It obviously has connotations in Scottish football and it is clear that a lot of fans didn't like it so best to leave it at home and not to cause tension among our own support. Also for the record I am not the older guy who took the flag but I seen the conversation. There was many fans around me though making comments about the flag and not one of them was positive. It was clear the majority of fans did not want it at the game or the associations it would give of ict fans
  21. It has certain connotations in Scottish football with it predominantly being associated with one team in particular. I have had a couple of St Johnstone fans I know already mention our plastic hun support and going by the previous bigoted chants of these guys they are pretty bang on aabout them. We are a Highland Scottish team playing in a Scottish league and let's not have our fans being associated with the most hated team in Scottish football! There is a Highland identity to embrace instead of looking like tag along huns
  22. The majority of our fans I would imagine, including the guy who took it down.
  23. What an embarrassment. Is this from the same guys who spent the whole game against celtic a couple of years ago singing about fenians, Bobby sands etc and telling anyone who had a go at them that they were 'supporting' their team. Leave it at home or head along to ibrox if you want some like minded fans
