This is becoming a bit of a joke. Less than 24 hours until our game and we still don't know what is happening. All rumours so far until it's confirmed

Is this actually confirmed? Don't want to just go on some random reporters twitter after other ones reported days ago that he had agreed terms which turned out to be rubbish.

I had hoped he would stay but I am now resigned to him leaving. If he was going to turn it down he would have by now as it is getting far too late with the game tomorrow. Only conclusion I can come to is that he is accepting it and the clubs need to work out compensation. Hopefully I'm wrong and Butcher is just stringing Hibs along until the last minute but I can't see that.

This has to be sorted today. Dragging on too long and we have a game in 2 days time which can't be helping us. At least Hibs have someone in place for Saturday and can plan for the game properly.

I know it's a wee bit "my sister's dog's friends says..." type of thing, but with the news that Jimmy Nicholl will take the team on Saturday, the scenario of how things will pan out doesn't sound that farfetched. That site was full of this stuff this week. Suposedly Butcher was at Easter Road last night for meetings but he said himself that it was not true today. I think Nicholl being appointed to take the team would happen either way as it is only 3 days away and he will be working with the team in training and hibs have no definite date of when they will appoint a manager or dont actually know if Butcher will accept. They had no choice than to have him in charge on Sat. There is still hope!

Hopefully he is just being polite in hearing what they have to say...

Maybe they have agreed terms etc with Butcher but as they need to go through the club first and ask for permission Butcher is obviously going to say there has been no contact so that it looks like it is being done properly. Fully expect him to leave

Dundee Utd charged both their fans and Rangers fans half price for a re-arranged game that had been abandoned at half time. I think this led to a boycott from Rangers fans for that game. (This being before they boycotted anyone who didn't think they should be able to skip 3 leagues straight to the top) I very much doubt this will happen for this game though as to his credit Roy Macgreggor seems quite reasonable in offering support to fans. Did he not put on free busses for Hearts fans for a game that was postponed last season. After the game the announcer said to keep hold of the match tickets for the re-arranged game. I went and ripped mine up before the game without thinking!

We should be able to sell out the away end at county easily

Surely common sense will prevail and we can play our tie either the week before or after. Hopefully the week before as it's school holidays and I could maybe get to an away game that isn't against County!

Better to stay clear of the radio as I'm sure you won't hear the score at the game. Then watch it when your back without knowing score

With Hearts suspensions, missing two of their better players in Wilson and Hamill (if he is suspended), possible injuries, a small squad and looking like playing 120 mins tonight we are getting them at a very good time. Go right at them from the start!

Would start him against St. Johnstone but only just and if he shows the same lack of effort and commitment as he did against Celtic then that should be his last game for the club. Watching him on tv against Celtic he made no effort to close anyone down or chase back and when he lost the ball he would just stop dead and stand there and let the opposition player run past him with no effort to try and win it back or put in a tackle.

That's not quite correct. It is only the cup winners who would go in a round later. If the cup is won by Celtic then then 2nd place in the league takes the later round that the cup winners would have got and the runners up of the cup go in at the earlier round. To be honest going in at an earlier round would give us the chance of winning a tie before then facing a stronger team in the later round. I think the early rounds are regonalized as well so we would face Northern/Western European teams.

Lol that is actually an improvement on that away top. I think it looks really good as well! Maybe an idea for an actual away top one year. Not sure our fans would get value for money with a European top given Scottish teams showings in Europe recently. We would most likely get drawn against someone from Albania and lose 4-0.

Rangers did well with a Scottish chairman...at least Blackburn still exist
