  1. So what you're saying is...Ayr today, gone tomorrow. Yeah i want Ayr to win but if WE were playing them we would be hoping they played bad. You don't say
  2. I really hope your on the wind up. The guy is a bomb scare. he had one ok run against a highland league team but he mis controlled the ball a couple of times and 'one wee defensive mis-cue'?? He had the ball inside his own box and passed it straight to a Clach forward in the box who blasted over the bar, if he does that on sat then its a goal to County. Not on the wind up at all. I've been saying for long enough that Lionel is not a defender. But I really believe he could add a lot to the team from central or left midfield. It might even be worth trying him as an out and out striker. Do you think Barrowboy would have scored last night with that chance that Lionel gifted to Clach? He prob would have and thats saying something! There is no way lionel is a centre midfileder, we would get torn to its against a decent team with him in there. Remember it was a highland league team that looked like they were playing with many teenagers he was up against! Butcher and Brewster before him would have seen Lionel in training and both haven't thought that he could do a job in midfiled or upfront, thankfully! Do you remember once last season where he was actually brought on at left mid? What a disaster that was, he had no idea what he was doing and was passing the ball straight out of the park. Never again was he given a shot outside LB.
  3. Would have to be Dundee with out a doubt! It would be a lot better them winning the league over County from an ICT perspective for a few reasons! Firstly Dundee, if they fail to go up this year may invest more into their squad to insure promotion the following season. This would make the league harder to win next year for us and would be easier instead with County and a relegated Hamilton/Falkirk in it. Also County going up would financialy be bad for ICT, as well as losing the derby from a supporters perspective. We would be losing out on two 6-7,000 crowds and replacing them with crowds of around 3,000, possibly less. Also we would lose out on extra sponsership/hopsitality that the derby brings in. Furthermore sponsers in the Highlands would probably be inclined to put money into an spl club and ICT would lose out on local sponsership in this case.

  5. Are there still copies avaliable to buy?
  6. I actually think, for financial reasons, they'll see the replay as a bigger game that ours and will be wary of injury. Not if they have any belief in winning the league they wont!!
  7. Thought I would post in Butchers post match thoughts- "It was horrible really. Horrible to watch and very frustrating for the players because Morton strung nine men across the park and left one up and made it very difficult for us to break them down or allow us through them. "Every Inverness Caley Thistle fan and player in the ground was frustrated but it was a case of getting through the first 45 minutes against the wind and then with the wind in the second half getting more balls behind their back four. "In the end it was a good breakaway goal, which typifies us really this season. For Inverness one of the most wonderful sights you could see was the number 9, a local boy, hitting the winner from about six yards. "But he will still have to hoover and sweep up the dressing room and do the usual thing."
  8. Well, I'm awful glad he was on for 65 minutes. When did Mannie last score with the end of his tinkle? I know you were wanting Ross to get a game but I think you should admitt you were wrong and he isnt ready. It seems everyone at the game agrees other than you. Yes he scored but any player in our squad would have scored that goal. Other than that he contributed nothing the whole game and offered nothing down his side. Sanchez would have created more than Ross did, hopefully Ross will come onto his game and get a run out if we can secure the league before the end of the season but until we do he shouldnt be in the first team. Scoring a goal doesnt mean you are a great player or had a good game, I remember darren thompson scored a crucial goal for us against st. mirren in the cup, didnt make him a great player though! Dont get me wrong im not slagging Ross as a player, I hope he becomes a regular for us but this isnt the time and he isnt ready.
  9. Knowing our new announcer he prob said it was the world cup semi finals but no i'm pretty sure its the Inverness cup final. A chance for the youngsters and reserves to get a run out, dont expect to see any first team players getting risked ahead of the derby.
  10. Today's game was a classic case of Butcher not having done his homework. It took him 70 minutes to realise that Hayes and Ross might be more effective on opposite flanks. To be fair I think Hayes had a better first half on the right. It wasnt hayes that was not as efective it was that Ross was a little bit less inefective on the right. Would rather Odhiambo on the right and Sanchez filling his place
  11. Well there isn't much else filling them!!
  12. Was it Mihadjiks (sp) that Butcher dropped to play Tokely at CB last season? Im not totally sure if there hasn't been a falling out here or if he is unhappy with him. After the Dundee game I read comments from Butcher where he said he was furious with a couple of players in that game. I dont remember Bulvitis having a bad game, was he at fault for not closing down the player for the second goal? Just as after this game he seems to have been dropped, not due to injury as he is on the bench. Could he be a player Butcher was furious at? Also Sanchez had been benched and played little part since.
  13. I think he needs to work on his first touch, to often the ball come to him and his mis-controls it 2-3 yards away from him, leading to him being robbed of possesion or being closed down to quickly.
  14. Well you were the only person that had posted so it wasnt gonna be about anyone else's!! Good to see you don't want Lionel in midfield for this game though!! Anyway yeah he wasnt great but quite a few players didnt perform today, can't really drop him after one poor game, we know he can and has done a lot better recently.
  15. Didnt work for Ross, that is prob the reason they changed it about as Ross was even less effective on the left of midfield. But Hayes plays well on the right as he not only crosses the ball but can cut across the defence, take men on and come inside to shoot. We have scored a few goals from Hayes cutting inside into the box and shooting. This would be the idea behind it but as I said on the other flank Ross wasn't able to do this.
  16. Hmm would put in odhiambo instead of Mcbain though. The midfield there is a bit defensive and with duncan and cox playing the defensive midfield role we could do with a bit more going forward on other side of midfield to Hayes.
  17. He wasnt great today but he wasnt our worst player either. He played ok in spells and had some good play in the middle of the park but yeah motm was taking it a bit far!! Maybe the announcer got to decide it today, he didn't even know the difference between Bulvitus and Sanchez last tuesday so prob just closed his eyes and pointed at a name. Or maybe he thought our left back was called Odiambo.
  18. Poor poor performance today, looked nothing at all like the team of recent weeks. A win is a win though and we would take 1-0 but we were lucky to win that game today. Attacks were few and far between. Dont want to be harsh on Ross but Butcher's team selection was awful today. Ross did nothing today and seemed lost and if we play like that next week we will lose. Sanchez should have started this game especially with Foran out as we were creating nothing, also to put on Eagle instead of Sanchez was a strange one. Sanchez has to start next week. The main problem today was the suspension to Foran, we looked a diff team without him today and the hard work up front was left to Rooney which left us lightweight up front. Even though Rooney played well and battled hard he was winning the ball out wide, doing the hard work then playing it into the box where we were lacking Rooney's presence then!! He cant do it by himself and today showed what a miss Foran really is. On a good point though I thought Gollabeck had a fantastic game and was my motm.
  19. Then you can say what ever the rumour is as people will take it as just a rumour being here!
  20. Didn't even bother reading most of this topic ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz Why do in Scotland people presume that you have to either support on of the OF or at least have leanings or a favourite out of the two of them. How about I couldnt give a flying feck about either of them equally. Why not start a poll on who do you prefer Albion Rovers or Forfar Athletic becasue that would just be as relevant to me as this one.
  21. Came over from the Everton Rooney Rooney Said Man U is the team for me Rooney Rooney He's five foot ten he looks like Shrek We wanted Adam but what the heck Wa-ayne Rooney United's number ten
  22. What would be best for us would be hibs and county drawing and also dundee drawing. Would give them extra midweek games to deal with.
  23. Would rather Sanchez came in, this is not the time to be playing inexperienced youngsters.
  24. We need to get the first team regulars signed up on new contracts or I feel we could be in this league for years. If we dont win the league this year and many of them leave then we will be concined to the 1st for a long long time, just look at what had happened to other teams who have gone down, some have dropped down a division further and don't look like returning any time soon to the top division. We have though seemed to have clicked recently and if we missed out on the league this season but kept the same team for next season then I reckon we could run away with the league. I know we dont know budgets etc if we dont know what league we are in but surely we can offer contracts where the pay depends on what league we are in next season and with a wage rise on promotion if we don't make it up this season.
