You like to dish it out but for one so brash you seem a little over-sensitive to any criticism that comes back at you in IMHO. IHE A few hours earlier... IHE Keep taking the pills

Ict -v- Falkirk : Cup Day Thread
He gives his all and has more postive attributes than negative, as long as he is eager to learn he could become an excellent player for us. It was a ludicrous challenge today though and will probably give Tel a decision to play him for the next game or not I can't remember them having a shot on goal after we had a man sent off.. gutted because I live beside hampden so would have been an easy journey but it was obviously going to happen IMO Was that a restrained reply or do you agree with me Hairy ? I agree with you except he is NOT a full back - he is NOT a defender - he is not a SPL player. That Tel decision - if he dares to make it - could cost us dear - perhaps as usual I am the one opening ma gob but many agree with me. I really think that we ould have gone even further than one visit to Hampden - and I was so looking forward to staying wiv ya. What a load of tosh. Our back of Tokely Pavel Munro Lionel is as solid as any we've ever had in the SPL. Only a zealot would call for Lionel never to start a game for the club ever again after he gives away 1 penalty. You blatantly hated to see him succeed and now take delight in seeing him slip up. Real ICT fans are delighted with how the big man has performed for the team since he was given a chance. You're right about alot of things but the way you constantly write off Lionel no matter how well he's actually performing is pretty poor form on your part. He doesn't deserve it at all.

Ict -v- Falkirk : Cup Day Thread
I thought we were pretty unlucky today, overall we dominated most of the game but nothing fell for us in front of goal. Falkirk didn't really cause us any problems, we shot ourselves in the foot with a needless defensive error today which ultimately cost us the game. The referee wasn't great but I didn't think he was as bad as some are making out, certainly not as bad as the tube we had against motherwell. Not sure what Lionel was thinking when he tugged the Falkirk players shirt in the box, there was no need. To be fair he looked a little out of sorts after he'd been assaulted a few minutes earlier (I think he was punched in the face, didn't see it clearly) which started a mele. The red card was extremely harsh, even Yogi thought so. I'm sure the Lionel knockers will get stuck in but I think after how well he's played recently he shouldn't be chastised too much. Munro and Esson were guilty against Motherwell and came back strongly against rangers in midweek. I'm not that fussed about going out of the cup to be honest. A day out at Hampden would have been good craic but at least we can focus 100% on the league now. The Bairns fans can jump up and down and make as many 'get it right up ye' gestures as they like tonight, they're still bottom of the league and haven't gained any ground on us. From what I saw today we can go down to their patch in a few weeks with lots of confidence. They always fall to pieces when we push big men up the park and go route 1. We should play like that from the first minute next time we play them.

Needs Further Debate
You always have to try to pick holes in things to try to look clever don't you? Dougie Imrie has been on the form of his life since Butcher came in and started playing him up front. Quite frankly, only a complete fool would be calling for him to be stuck back out on the wing. And what exactly would it take for you to stop slagging off Lionel? He's been one of our best players since he was given a regular start, take the blinkers off. Just accept that you were wrong to write him off and you aren't as clever as you think you are. Black was utter tosh on saturday, why should he be an automatic start? Surely Butcher's policy of picking players based on their form is the way to go. You're the guy who always used to complain about Brewster always 'picking his favourites'. As for sticking Rooney up front... have we ever won a game where he was in the starting 11? Why would we go back to playing with a slow, cumbersome target man when playing with 2 mobile, skillful strikers has been serving us so well?

Ict -v- Motherwell : Matchday Thread
I think Motherwell were there for the taking today. Unfortunatly we gifted them 2 goals and found ourselves behind and chasing (like the bad old brewster days) for most of the game. Esson's error was a one off, but Munro was shakey throughout. He had a shocker. Blackie wasn't much better, he wasted the ball all afternoon and made a couple of over the ball challenges in the second half which could easily have been awarded red cards if they'd connected. He's an idiot and a liability. His inclusion adds nothing to our team. We were far better last week without him. Todays result shows how much work still needs to be done. We didn't quite have the edge of the last few weeks, perhaps a little over-confidence creeping in? Mike McCurrie obviously didn't help. It's hard to get stuck in when a referee keeps awarding fouls for perfectly good challenges, a few ICT players looked extremly demoralized. Hopefully we don't get him again this season. If we do we need to adapt (i.e. dive like motherwell players). Despite all this, we still did enough to deserve at least a point IMHO. Rooney missed a couple of sitters. And a moment of magic from Morais set up a tap in for Foran (wrongly disallowed for offside by Motherwells 12th man). If I was an ICT player I'd absolutly hate motherwell. They're such jammy sh1ts against us.

Niculae
I was searching youtube for some footage of Marius playing this season for Bucharest and I found this gem... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-jt1FaKkwo It sounds amusingly like the theme tune to borat.

Team For Hibs
Keep the same team that's been doing the business, with McBain in for Duncan and Vigurs in for Black.

Adam Rooney
Because he's too slow, he can't control or hold the ball, he doesn't create anything when he's in posession, and to my knowledge we've never won a game where he's been in the starting 11. That's not to say he's not going to be a good player for us eventually, but I think his cult status at the moment has as much to do with his name (the neds behind the goals love chanting 'Rooney, Rooney, Rooney' ala Man U ) than anything he's done on the park. Yeah he's scored a few goals but he's not exactly kris boyd. Like AM says, Dougie and Eric are doing the business at the moment and it'd be folly to drop them. Their movement, first touch, interplay etc is excellent. It's been a while since we looked so potent (not to mention entertaining) in attack. Hopefully the long ball era is over. Morais looked like a top class player against the plastics, surely he'll be knocking on the door when he's fit again? I think the fact that rooney can't get a game is a positive, i.e. we have so many good striking options now. IMHO our striking pecking order at this point should be... 1) Morais 2) Imrie 3) Eric 4) Wood 5) Rooney 6) Barrowman

Robbo Returns
If ICT offered you a role as Director of Football would you be up for it?

Inverness Courier
I also noticed that last week the Courier gave Lionel the lowest 'star man' score of anyone on the pitch when in reality he was arguably man of the match. Same story this week. They're a bunch of numpties.
-
Djebi-zadi
Agreed, he was MOTM by far. His timing, composure and first touch were all terrific.. and his passing out of defense today was reminiscent of Bobby Mann, he was outstanding! Our only 3 clean sheets at home this season have been in the games Lionel has started... coincidence???

When Will We Get Our Own Identity?
Nobody will sing the caledonia song because it's slow, boring, and depressing. Find a catchy upbeat song, then change the words. How about never gonna give you up by rick astley?

Barrowman
I think Barrowman gets alot of unfair abuse on here. People are far too quick to write a player off and then look out for anything that reinforces their opinion and overlook anything that contradicts it. Don't judge him based on his performances earlier in the season, judge him based on how he's playing now. Over the last few games his work rate has been excellent, and his game is definatly improving. A few weeks ago some posters on here were calling Lionel Djebi Zadi the worst player in the history of ICT. Judging by todays performance they were way off the mark. Also, remember how long it took for John Rankin to adapt to the SPL. He was dismissed as an SFL player for months, there were very similar calls for him to be shipped back to County where he'd find 'his level'. If so many fans could be wrong about him, perhaps they're wrong about Barrowman too. None of our strikers have had a particularly good season so far, Brewster and his tinkering / 4-5-1 system / tactics / coaching certainly didn't help. Everyone should start with a blank slate, so let go of the hate.

Ict -v- Celtic : Matchday Thread
Lionel Djebi-Zadi is the daddy! He was an absolute colossus today! Must have won about 95% of all the challenges he went in for. He should definatly be given a longer run out at left back after this performance. I couldn't believe he wasn't given man of the match, although Imrie and Foran were also immense. Blackie let the team down and should have been sent off for a disgraceful lunge on MacDonald. The sooner he leaves the better.

Dodds Predicts Ict Win
Let's be fair, he usually predicts an ICT defeat and more often than not this season, he's been spot on. I expect his predictions to be more favourable now that CB has left, I think he had a bit of a grudge with our former manager stemming back to their Dundee Utd days.

Should Black Play Against Celtic?
Black is a good individual player, but more often than not, he's style over substance. Lot's of neat ball control but almost no graft or end product. We seem to play better as a team when he's absent. Fraser looks the part, but he could easily be Les Fridge in disguise. We could bring Jim Calder out of retirment as back up and wouldn't really be much worse off to be honest. Of the 3 players leaving, Cowie is the one who we will really miss IMHO. I think we'd be crazy not to play him, we desparatly need points on the board and he's a match-winner.

Butchers' First Predicament
Why not just play a right sided defender at left back?

McBain's Red Card
We've been on the receiving end of some shocking decisions this season, I would include McBains red card on that list. His celebration of the save was nothing OTT, only an absolute tube would deam it worthy of dismissal from the field.

New Elgin boss...
It's a shame that ICT, County, Peterhead and Elgin are all in different leagues. I wouldn't mind seeing some derbies. Considering the size of the town, or 'city' according to them, it's hard to understand why their football team is such a joke. It wasn't long ago that they had the best team and some of the best gates in the HL. Now they've replaced East Stirling as the SFL's mickey mouse basement boys, probably harming the chances of more HL teams getting into the Senior ranks should there be another re-structuring. If they had a decent manager there's no reason why they couldn't climb up the leagues like ICT and County. While there's a certain amount of schadenfreude in hearing of our old rivals disasterous gubbings on the radio week in week out, I'd rather they along with County and Peterhead were all doing the business and knocking on the door of the SPL.

RORY MCALLISTER
I don't think the purge has gone far enough, but it's a good start.

Mikey Fraser
How dare you smite an ICT legend like Les Fridge. Mike Fraser couldn't even lace his boots.
