  1. Let's be fair, he usually predicts an ICT defeat and more often than not this season, he's been spot on. I expect his predictions to be more favourable now that CB has left, I think he had a bit of a grudge with our former manager stemming back to their Dundee Utd days.
  2. Black is a good individual player, but more often than not, he's style over substance. Lot's of neat ball control but almost no graft or end product. We seem to play better as a team when he's absent. Fraser looks the part, but he could easily be Les Fridge in disguise. We could bring Jim Calder out of retirment as back up and wouldn't really be much worse off to be honest. Of the 3 players leaving, Cowie is the one who we will really miss IMHO. I think we'd be crazy not to play him, we desparatly need points on the board and he's a match-winner.
  3. Why not just play a right sided defender at left back?
  4. We've been on the receiving end of some shocking decisions this season, I would include McBains red card on that list. His celebration of the save was nothing OTT, only an absolute tube would deam it worthy of dismissal from the field.
  5. It's a shame that ICT, County, Peterhead and Elgin are all in different leagues. I wouldn't mind seeing some derbies. Considering the size of the town, or 'city' according to them, it's hard to understand why their football team is such a joke. It wasn't long ago that they had the best team and some of the best gates in the HL. Now they've replaced East Stirling as the SFL's mickey mouse basement boys, probably harming the chances of more HL teams getting into the Senior ranks should there be another re-structuring. If they had a decent manager there's no reason why they couldn't climb up the leagues like ICT and County. While there's a certain amount of schadenfreude in hearing of our old rivals disasterous gubbings on the radio week in week out, I'd rather they along with County and Peterhead were all doing the business and knocking on the door of the SPL.
  6. I don't think the purge has gone far enough, but it's a good start.
  7. His record might not be the best but not many SPL managers would succeed at a big Premiership club like Tottenham, or in the J league, know what I mean? Give him a good old school scottish assistant manager (like steve clarke and mourinho at chelsea) as a foil and he could do a job for us. He'd be a crowd puller, both as a big name and from his style of football. Having him in charge could also help us attract new signings.
  8. How dare you smite an ICT legend like Les Fridge. Mike Fraser couldn't even lace his boots.

  10. He's trying to write like Graham Spiers but doesn't quite manage to pull it off. Give him credit for showing a bit of ambition. Pretentious guff like this could easily win all kinds of literary awards.
  11. I agree. WTF do Tibet and Cuba have to do with inverness caley thistle?
  12. Then again, he might do an Alan Smart on us.
  13. I take it you're familiar with 'godwin's law'.
  14. Here's a good one... http://goodfellalfc.blogspot.com/2008/09/blog-post.html
  15. He signed Robson, Mann, Stewart, Thompson, McArthur, Teasedale, Wilson, Tokely, Munro, McBain, Hart, Wyness, Sheerin, Brown, Ritchie and many other terrific players for a combined total of less than what Brewster paid for Dougie Imrie. When he left we were flying at the top of the first division, playing fantastic football, and were enjoying the best start to a season in our history. His record speaks for itself.
  16. If true, I think we'd be insane to turn that down. He had a promising start here, but his recent form would embarras Elgin City.
  17. I'd love to see Partick get promoted, they're the kind of team you wish you could play every week. The self-hype and sour grapes only add to their entertainment value. Unfortunatly, I doubt they'll even manage to finish above Ross County.
  18. Why not start with the same team that played so well on saturday?
  19. I know a few guys who have been battered walking home from nights out, but to be honest it's usually the same people who get themselves into trouble on a regular basis rather than just random. Can't say I've ever had any problems. If you have common sense then Inverness isn't particularly dangerous.
  20. Best home performance of the season today. I was delighted to see sweeping changes to the starting lineup, I would be happy to see the same 11 next week. Morais looks like he could be a terrific signing for us. His pace, control, passing, crossing and finishing were all top class today. Let's hope he can play with that quality every week. Mihadjuks looks like a sturdy, no nonsense center half. For once there were no gaping holes in our box. You can't judge after one game but it looks like we may have finally found a replacement for Dodds. He also used the ball well, usually opting to pick out a simple pass to a midfielder rather than dilly dally himself into trouble or senselessly hoof it up the park like we've often seen from ICT defenders this season. Not sure why some posters seem to be picking on Djebi-Zadi, I thought he had a decent game but perhaps his reputation goes before him. He certainly didn't allow Partick to create anything down the right while he was on the pitch. Fraser had a good game between the sticks, I can't remember the last time he kept a clean sheet. Perhaps some bench time has done him good. Finally, it was encouraging to see that we didn't miss Ian Black (or Dougie Imrie for that matter) at all today. While Blackie is obviously a talented player, IMHO we often seem to play better when he's absent.
  21. You can't write someone off because another club didn't like them. Look at Paul Ritchie, before he signed for us he had a 2 week trial at St Mirren and they punted him.
  22. Would a team of Brewsters rejects actually beat us? They'd certainly give us a run for our money. ----------------ridgers-------------- paatelainen--mcaffrey--rankin---- wilson---hart-----juanjo----morgan ---bayne---wyness---mccdonald---
