The fact that the decision to sack Brewster and Thompson is being questioned is quite incredible IMHO. I never expected us to get to such a low point where we would start to get nostalgic about the Brewster era . It reflects how dissapointing Butcher and Malpas have been IMHO.

Not convinced by Butcher at all. He talks a good game in the papers but doesn't deliver on the pitch. Are we any better now than when Brewster was in charge? Is the team fitter? Better organized? Playing better football? Scoring more goals? Nope. If anything we have gotten even worse. We were bottom of the SPL when he took over, we are 7th in the first division now, and only a fortuitous last minute winner in our opening game preventing us from being in the relegation zone, and a penalty shoot out lottery from being out of the cup to montrose. I would give Butcher and Malpas until Christmas to turn things around. If we are still mince then it's P45 time! Robbo, get warmed up son.

He played really badly today so he did. Therefore he should never play again!!! It's all his fault. If it weren't for him we would have won comfortably today and probably be top of the league, perhaps even top 6 of the SPL. A truly shocking performance from ICT today. Quite worringly, Ross County looked like a far better side than us and fully deserved to win, in fact we were lucky it was only 3-1. Hard to think of any positives quite frankly. Esson, Eagles, Cox and Bulvitis probably did almost enough to earn pass marks, everyone else was poor. Foran and Sanchez, where the f"ck is the movement? They're the most static striking duo I've ever seen. No wonder we struggle so badly to score goals. While Foran never shirks a challenge when the ball is delivered straight to him, what else does he actually do? Not much. Considering his experience and quality we really need alot more from him. Sanchez? He looked like a bit of a luxury today, not sure why he was selected for this derby fixture. The wingers never really got any joy from the county full backs. Stratford was awful, never really got into the game and kept passing the ball back to Djebi Zadi even though he was having a mare. Roy McBain should be given a run at number 6 ahead of Stratford, he brings far more to the team. Lionel needs to be dropped next week, he looked a broken man at full time today! I've never seen him play so poorly. Hastings has waited long enough for a run out, hopefully he comes in with a point to prove and does a job for us. And Tokely in at right back for Proctor, that's a no brainer. Butcher didn't look like he had a plan B. When the game was slipping away from us the only change he made was to switch Eagle and Hayes wings, to little effect. It seems that every time he hypes up the team in the papers (the boys are going to give their all, we know what its all about, they're working so hard in training etc) we fall on our @rse. At the end of the day, County were better organized, they played better football, and their players wanted it more than the ICT players. We are in 7th place and deserve to be there. But for an injury time winner at dunfermline we would be in the relegation zone. Butcher, FFS get it sorted man!!!

Murdo MacLeod is another who always sticks up for Inverness, possibly owing to his Highland roots. It's a shame there aren't more northern voices on radio scotland. I always thought Charlie Christie would make a good pundit.

Customers in TK Maxx pay the staffs' wages there too. As a customer, does this entitle me to pop in every second Saturday and shout abuse at the checkout girls for 90 mins? You can't really conflate a checkout girl at TK Maxx with a professional footballer earning a grand a week. Even so, if you were short changed and received goods or services of inadequate quality, you would be perfectly entitled to complain. It would obviously be wrong to 'shout abuse' at somebody who was trying to do a job but simply wasn't very good at it. ICT have never been world beaters, and expectations of what can be achieved on the pitch have to be realistic and fair. But considering the time and money most fans invest in supporting ICT, it isn't unreasonable to expect 11 well paid professional footballers on the park to give 100% effort for 90 minutes once a week in return. If fans don't think this is the case, they have every right to vent their feelings from the stand. It's part of football, and anyone who can't handle that should either grow some b"lls or find another hobby.

Some people seem to be going a little OTT with stereotypes on this thread. What exactly is a 'working class football fan', as opposed to a 'middle class football fan'? Are emotional instability and vulgarity working class traits, as opposed to middle class reservedness and politeness? Surely the behaviour of each individual fan has more to do with their personality than with their social class. I have no problem with colourful chants and shouts at football matches so long as they are witty and in reasonably good humour. There will always be angry old men who are hyper critical of the team "Get off the park 'insert player'!!!" and "Get it sorted 'insert manager'!!!" being their trademark shouts. And there will also always be juvenile neds who turn the air a shade of blue with vulgar shouts and chants at every opportunity in a vain attempt to look hard. You'll find them at every ground around the country. They're as much a part of the fabric of scottish football as pie and bovril. IMHO a 'live and let live' attitude is the way to go. Some fans like to get excited and scream abuse at players, managers, officials, stewards, and even the ballboys. Some like to be happy clappy and cheer everyone and everything as if they are on valium. Some are more reserved and remain stoic throughout the game. Everyone to their own. Leave the angry old men, the eccentrics, the neds, and the sweetie rustlers to enjoy their matchday experience in the way they want to. Let 1,000 flowers bloom. :)

Get back in your box man. It's torture enough having to watch ICT at times. Forcing us to be captive audience to an excitable attention seeker running around the pitch with a microphone is just too much. It brought back awful memories of the old Tich McCooey half time show. I'd rather they just kept it simple. Tell us the half time scores and then play some tunes.

Burley lost the plot when he picked Chris Iwelumo over the free scoring Kris Boyd against Norway at home. IMHO if Boyd had played that game we would have won comfortably and currently be odds on to finish second. He also seems to have some kind of vendetta against selecting Rangers players. Boyd, McUlloch (both retired because of his shocking man maagment) and now Weir, Broadfoot and Neil Alexander have been dingied (all of whom would have done a better job than the dross last night). I am not a Rangers fan, but I'd pick any of the above over average English lower division players.

Why are some people still picking Rooney???? :( He brings absolutly NOTHING to the team whatsoever. No pace, no control, no strength, no through runs, no threat in the air, no threat from outside the box, no link up play (he's too hunch backed to look up and spot a good pass), no dribbles, no tracking back. NOTHING. Whenever he comes off the bench we cease to provide any attacking threat to our opponents at all. We could play Coleen Rooney up front and not be any worse off. It's like playing with 10 men. Seriously, get a grip people. What disappointed me the most was the lethargy of the performance. It was our first competitive game of the season and the team looked seriously underprepared. All Butcher's talk of the players hunger to bounce back, and their incredible work rate in training certainly wasn't reflected on the pitch. Most of the team looked sluggish, unfit, disorganized, disheveled, and disinterested. Apart from a brief 'bounce' and run of good results immediatly after his appointment, I see no improvement whatsoever in the teams performances under Butcher.
