  1. There's more chance of them going for Derek Adams.

On a serious note, does anybody else think that Richie Foran could be a useful left back? Just a thought. :D

Exactly the same team that started against Raith.
  5. You would have thought the muppets would have learned their lesson with Cowie and Black. The amount of money we've received in transfer fees over the years is laughable, especially when you consider how many talented young players we've had on our books. If we had a competent director of football we'd be falling over ourselves to sign Hayes, Odiambo, Cox etc on 2 or 3 year contracts. As it is, we're going to lose them all for nothing to the likes of Dundee or Motherwell, who'll probably go on to re-sell them for hundreds of thousands of pounds. Business as usual.
  6. 1-0 going on 5-0, Rooney should have had a hat trick today. That was one of the best home performances of the season. Hopefully Butcher sticks with the same team next week. Duncan and Foran weren't missed. Cox and Duff were outstanding in the centre of the park, the back 4 were rock solid and barely allowed Raith to have a shot on goal for the whole 90 minutes, Hayes, Rooney, Odiambo and Sanchez linked well and looked dangerous whenever they got the ball (apart from their finishing). Same again next week please.
  7. Considering his contribution to our club over the years the very least he deserves is a sporting chance to prove that he can do a job for us.
  8. The defense has been the weak link recently so a wee shake up might not be such a bad thing. Those lamenting Lionel's return are in for a pleasant suprise IMHO. As bad as he was when his confidence was shot earlier in the season, he can't possibly be any worse than Golly has been over the last few weeks. The big man won't let us down. Putting Stratford or preferably Cox in at right back is a good shout. Proctor is having a purple patch in midfield and should be kept there.
  9. When you take his age / experience / the fact that he's out of his element (i.e. in a foriegn league / environment / doesn't speak english as a first language) and playing alongside Munro / Golly / Rosco (not exactly top drawer this season) he's done pretty well. He's still a bit green obviously but has all the raw attributes (athleticism, technique, footballing brain) to develop into a very good centre half if given the time and patience IMHO.

The fact that you want Ian McCall in as ICT manager shows how much of a clue you have. You have the right avatar i.e. a comedian. :(
  11. Reiterate that attack is the best form of defense.
  12. At the end of the day Caley played great football but didn't get the breaks. No Dundee fan could have complained had we been 5-0 up at half time. Overall we'll win against that lot far more often than we'll lose, especially if we take our chances and keep our best players on the pitch (cough). Play like this every week (perhaps defending a little better ) and we'll win the league. How many points did we drop today? How many points did Dundee gain today? Zero. This was the sideshow, the main event is what matters. If I have one moan from the game it's that we seriously need to review our options at left-back. Golabeck is Highland league standard and isn't going to get any better. It's time to give somebody else a chance.
  13. The self righteousness of the Irish never ceases to amaze me. Cheating goes on at every level of football. We were cheated against the Italians... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZO1ysiicro But did the SFA demand a replay? Did the Scottish government lodge a formal complaint to the Italian government? Did the Scottish public start protesting outside the Italian embassy like wee bairns?
  14. We need a disciplinarian who will get the team playing as an organized unit again. I would go for Alex Miller, Tommy McLean or John Collins. :)
  15. 37, new world record..
  16. Paul Ritchie would be a decent shout. He's been around the block (think he was playing in Hong Kong before he came to ICT ) so he has the experience and probably also the contacts.

(Richie Foran in an interview with the Indy) When I read this I found it a little troubling, if it's actually true (i.e. our players are only training for 8 hours a week) then its a bl00dy disgrace!!! If Butcher is truly as angry as his post-match interview this week suggested, surely it's time he forced our under-perfoming players to do an honest days work. They're supposed to be full time professionals afterall. If we were under any illusions as to how difficult a challenge it was going to be to win this league, we certainly shouldn't be anymore. I don't think it's time for Butcher to go, but it's certainly time for him to work alot harder than he has hitherto.

  19. When Dargo left, coupled with Brewster getting shot of Morgan, Hart, Wyness, Paatelinen, Wilson and Rankin (i.e. all of our creative players). The goals dried up, the football was mince, and it was all downhill from there.
  20. I think some of the comments on this thread are a little harsh. IMHO the best team lost today. We created enough chances to win this game comfortably but just couldn't take them. 4-0 to us would have been a fairer reflection of the balance of chances created than 2-1 to them. County didn't outplay us at all, anyone who says they did is talking tosh. There's no reason for the heads to go down. The result was dissapoiting but the performance of the vast majority of the team was fairly good. Golly, Rooney and Hayes especially. Let the gyppos savour their jammy victory, we have the measure of them now and it's only a matter of time before we overtake them in the league. Bring on Airdrie!

What a joke. We finally start playing well and you want Butcher to go? Get a grip man. Earlier on in the season we were pretty dire and I wouldn't have been particularly fussed had the manager walked, but the team is clearly improving now and I have faith we are going in the right direction. If we were to go on another downward spiral then perhaps it would make sense to review Butcher's position, but now? That's just daft. Butcher must stay.
  22. :D :029: Welcome to the forum Danny.
