  1. LOOKS LIKE HE COULD BE A HIT WITH THE GIRLS THEN - CLASSIC GALLIC LOOKS AND ALL. IF HIS PLAY MATCHES HIS COOL CUT THEN THE CROWDS AT TULLOCH MAY BE ABOUT TO INCREASE DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE RELATIVE LONELY LIVELINESS OF THE LOCAL LOVELIES. GOODNESS, MAYBE THE PIMPLE HAS UNDERESTIMATED THE DEVIOUSNESS OF TERRIFIC TERRY'S MIND. AND MO OF COURSE.
  2. Well, Spain wer not the worst offenders but this pitterpatter passing sideways and who are rarely to be found on the wings and are just as rarely a target of passes. And Iniesta looks too much of the spitten image of Landon Donovan of L.A. Galaxy for my liking.--I mean that's uncanny. Don't you agree I.H.E. ? Whatever happened to the fleetfooted winger outpacing the defence and cracking an accurate blistering pass along the front of the goal? Looks like gone are the days of the mazy dribbles , the mesmerising footwork of the stars of yesteryear--the Georgie Bests, the Willie Waddells, the Jimmy Johnstones of a past, perfect era where men were men and women hoped they would come home half sober and with at least a half-full paypacket so that the weans could get their porridge in the morn. Spain were goooood , yes, but when that Italian fella had to go off injured leaving the forlorn team down to ten men why can't the rules be bent to allow for another substitute to come on.? The guy gets injured and the ref penalised the team so that they sustain a relly rough defeat. What's fair in that? It's ridiculous ! Oh well, good luck to our new substitute goalie from Spain but he will have his work cut out to measure up to Iker Casilla. Apparently the former Spanish boss had high hopes that our new man woudl be real competition for the place to compete with Mr Iker. Total class, eh? Looks like we could have a good acquisition here. Adds flair anyway and it's getting quite exciting all this coming and going with players from all over the world. Who would have thunk it--the Pimple ever admitting to getting excited by the prospect of the import of foreign players? It's all I.H.E.;s fault...... :love02: .
  3. IHE Do you think you could have a word with that frenetic penguin. He obviously knows his way around a keyboard. I,m in desperate need of a Vision Board 2 with large 1 inch keys. Looks like he is having a whale of a time though. Walmart has them in the United States of Americcy but won't ship them to Canada, not even to their Walmart stores in this country. Why?- Because they have a buyer for the U S and a separate buyer for Canada.--and never the twain shall meet ................ GO Figure! In any event we have had an EAGLE playing for us so why not a Raven? And I am sure there must have t least one Robin in our past even if he wore a Hood=ie ? Oh well, hopefully he will turn out real good and then some of the posters won't have too much to.. grouse.. about...eh?
  4. O K Let's welcome them all. Does anyone agree with me that it seems as if our reputation as a career regenerater is gaining steam in all parts South--even as far away as Spain? If some of these boys could be persuaded to stay here in Inverness then I could see some method in Terry's madness. will be the next player next to step off the plane at Dalcross--Oops! Sorry--Inverness Airport . If this continues at the current pace then Terry could do a deal with the descendants of Friesen Air Transport service who, as I recall, used to fly float planes in and out of Inverness. Thinks...using the ater to land on would save the airports service fees. What a thought, Terry?
  5. Do what i am contemplating, send themn a cheque
  6. Bucket was right on the ball with this post. It's the future we need to worry about and the loss of identity that ICT has, their place in North Football and Scottish football also. If Caley Thistle are unfortunate enough to get relegated in the near future then how stable is Terry Butcher's job? And if, he were unfortunate to lose his job what will happen to the team then? The probability of more loaness coming year after year from the South will be much less and ICt will then have to scramble like crazy to tget a team together that can even get back i nto the SPL. For sure, chaos will rein and this is niot a stable platform at all on which to build a team of the future. Whether or not Terry can get a team together to allow ICT to just survive, the fact of the matter is that the heart has been ripped out of this Inverness team and dpression and a strong element of disbelief, and resignation to the fates, prevails in it's place. The spirit is not what it was and if all we have to look forward to now is more of the same coming in from England with the same merrygoround occurring at the end of every season then that is not what I want or what i think is in the best future interests of Northern football. Period.
  7. Bringing on the local youngsters is a postive move in itself since ,If he succeeds then ths will inspire ohers to work hard . May have to put a bit of wreight oi though if he is to succeed in the SPL don't you think?
  8. More money perhaps but to a team which is not that much better at all than ICT --so if he continues to shine amid the relative mediocrity around him and comes out still shining at the end of the season why is that not a good move for him? If he went to a bigger team with a lot of so-called stars in it then he might not stand out so much. He is not from Inverness so he can hardly be called a disloyalist and he is still very young and not THAT experienced a player so if he keep his cool, and his mouth shut and does the business on the field, I think he could ultimately get a very good move south within 2 seasons. At his stage he has plenty of time to develop and is quite entitled to move on to pastures new if he is ambitious. Good luck Jonny; just concentrate on working hard and doing the business.
  9. This piece of news is one of the most heartening evens in recent Caley Thistle history. Congratulations to Mr Cameron for taking this realistic and far-sighted step. Endorsing the fans support along with the integrity of Scottish Football is a massive fillip to the loyalty of the fans and uplifts the spirit of everyone. Frankly I find it very inspiring and probably will be the catalyst for a resurgence of the spirit a****st the fans. Boy, we sure need it since it has not always been beer and skittles last season has it? Let's be generous in our financial support and I hope that the first home game this year will be a sell-out. Yes!!!! I'll be in ntouch about the greenbacks, Scotty. We now gotta put the money where our mouths are these days.
  10. Remember to give old Scarlet a shout when you want the money Scotty.
  11. OTJ looks the part. Injuries can't often be helped especially when he is playing hard. Have to give him a chance to come good and then hopefully he will appreciate the confdence in him .
  12. A rose by any other name smells the same. Rangers Newco, or whatever other name one twists and turns to call it , it is still Rangers F C in another guise. A wolf in sheep's clothing, no less because the ramifications of allowing this club back into the SPL will be far-reaching and this act will remain in the memory for a long time. It will be nothing less than a completely cynical, self-serving betrayal of all that's good in scottish football. End of story.
  13. 12th MAN,----- IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ABOUT WHAT IS RIGHT (I.E SAME OLD, SAME OLD) BUT IT'S ABOUT THE STATUS QUO WHEN THAT IS CONVENIENT. Right? MEANING IF THE RULES CAN BE CONVENIENTLY SIDETRACKED TO ALLOW THE 'GERS TO ENTER THE SPL, THEN WHY NOT USE THEM ALSO TO ENSURE THAT THE DEVIANT CLUB IS ALLOWED TO SWAY THE RESULT IN IT'S FAVOUR. If you see what I mean-- and THATt is bizarre and no mistake. The whole thing is a sickening crock and the clubs must see this . I think that if they vote in favour of allowing Rank Rotten Rangers into the SPL then they are about to commit suicide and I can't put it any more plainly than that. For sure, nothing will ever be the same again for the vast majority of the fans and if Scottish Football is currently on a downward slide then such a vote may well complete the job.
  14. Well, the punters invariably state that pre-season is for warming up and for trying out things but not necessarily for winning games. Let's have a look at the final squad to assess it's experience before we prejudge.
  15. How can we have lost players if they really were never here? Loanees for stop gaps but local boys for the future?
  16. What it sounds like to me is that the whole of Scottish Football is on the brink here if this vote takes place. Who really thinks that ICT will die if they don't vote for the entry of Rangers without having to suffer the penalties discussed? Why would they die if they entered any of the lower three divisions? And why would they die if they even went back to the Highland League. Heck, theysurvived in that League for many years before the Pimple was even born and he's ancient? Would not everyone feel a lot better watching ICT in action in any league which runs itself in an upright and legitimate manner; meaning that We know that we CAN survive without Rangers. What a refreshing thought that is!
  17. Oh and IHE, me boy,..many a word spoken in jest. Auld Scar Baby did have a vasectomy and the Doctor a lonnnnng time ago. And the fella who did it was a Chinese man who did not say ..."cough" when he removed his pencil from his top pocket. And I was thinking ..."OMG, what's he going to do with that then?"
  18. IHE --you really are awful, but I like you .
  19. It would be asinine to allow them into the SPL without being demoted. To do so would be to flaunt the rules that should be sacrosanct until they are changed only by due process (within the rules of course). To flaunt the rules would render them toothless and meaningless. Which means that referees' decisions would also be open to contempt and a refusal by the players to obey him could also be instigated at will on the grounds that the rules no longer exist because his decisions are made within the framework of , and at the direction of, the SFA who have put these rules in place. And what rule could censure all the clubs at once if they refused to play Rangers F C right from the start of the season. Chaos would result. And what rule could force clubs to pay a fine levied by the SFA if they ALL refused to co-operate and said over and over again said that the rules no longer existed .They could make the lives of these SFA officials a complete misery and a complete nightmare To even think of allowing such a precedent to be set just to favour a club who more times than not always seem to get more than their fair share of decisions on the park going their way (against the rules of course) would be to pen up a very dangerous can of worms indeed. It would lower the moral compass po0f the SPL, the SFA, of the clubs who voted for it and of Scottish Football in general would be in tatters and the laughing stock of all football as complete, irresponsible, games-playing idiots. Besides, The Pimple wants to see an SPL without Rangers just to prove that we can all get along just fine without them.
  20. Retirement is not a bowl of cherries chums. It's........... scary, c'os it gives you too much time to think. And ruminate and consider yer past mistakes and get morbid about the ICT team when what you should be doing is being out there working like Terry and his cohorts. Starchief--all I can say to sum it all up is....you made my day! Ha! Ha! Irony with slit eyes at it's best.
  21. Mantis, Very sorry to hear of your detached retina. Over he past three years I have had 4 eye injections, laser bolts into both eyes, a vitrectomy (removal of tissue from the retina) and recently a cataract operation where they remove your lens and slip in a new foldined one made of polypropelene or something and then it opens up like a flower in spring inside yer eye. Amazing to watch under local anaesthetic--some guys see rainbows .Me? I was too busy trying to get my 199 blood pressure down. Ha Ha! So I hope that all that stuff is over and done with but if your retina problem is fixed, your OCT scans look good and you keep your IOC in order you should be fine, deo volente. Send me a P.M if you like..I know what that depression thing is about too --that hit me at the beginning but not now. You just get used to all the stuff and just accept your fate. No wonder you weren't posting on here!
  22. Mantis ..you have come out of the woodwork and made us all come alive. Goodness, it's long past your awakening from Hibernation time. Must be the cold Spring--certainly is cold here in Western Canada Imagien? Putting the heating on in B.C. in June? Incredible. As for Gen. George Custer he was also rash and a glory hunter which were the reasons that he got involved with the Injuns at the Battle of the Little Bighorn and lost BIG. And he wasn't HORNY afterwards because he was dead.! And so were all his small troop of cavalry. Oh My! Vainglory will do that to a young man. 2000 injuns versus about 100 to maybe 150 cavalry. Its CALVARY ahead for you in the future, George, NOT cavalry. Pity, eh Charles, that he made his name in the American Civil war and then lost it so hastily in Montana. --or was it Idaho . Och who cares? :love02: Comparing Terry to George does have some similarities but at least Terry the Titan has another opportunity to come good. Whether Terry has toned down his outbursts and bull in a china shop approach we won't find out quite yet but the situation he now faces is rather bleak, chums. He had better be very selective with this player choices and if we give him the beneft of the doubt maybe he can unearth some good-'uns . Panic Button--press it? Why? The situation has been obvious for months. It's more a question now of just waiting for the inevitable, methinks.
  23. Why Charles it's you again? Interesting comments which deserve an explanation. When I emigrated to Canada, I got out of the barrel with the inward -looking staves staring me in the face as I climbed up. Then I suddenly realised, at a still relatively young age, that the horizons were much farther afield and the views were much more extensive from the top of the barrell. Not to mention the opportunities in a country countless times larger than The United Kindom with a lot less people in it and so on. So I opened my wee eyes and never looked back . And that is why I know more about the American Civil war than you and the teachers at the IRA. All previous wars that I had learned about in the IRA were usually about powerful Princes trying to steal vast tracts of territory from other powerful Princes. But the American Civil war was fought over very large Principles, in the North, and very entrenched attitudes in the South hell bent on retention of slavery and wealth. Each territory had their own basket of Goods and neither was at all interested in stealing that which belonged to the other. Which to me was very interesting. And very unusual don't you think? So like a good schoolboy I paid attention and read a lot. Sometimss, opening your eyes is a bit of a shock. but when you come back to your "home " country and find that many of your former inward looking friends have no interest in how you are doing "abroad" or have no interest in what kind of a country you went to, etc., then that's an even bigger shock. Where I am now the only thing that stops me from making any change I like in my career or my life is entirely my own mindset or efforts whereas, where I came from, the class snobbery and several other similar things that I encountered as I grew up were hurdles that were insurmountable. And also prevented a fella making progress through earnest endeavour and hard work based on ability and drive and an honest approach . Sure, you will suffer debilitating discrimination when you arrive, but so what? Get over it and get on with it. Now Britain is almost a financial basket case with even my former employer, the mighty Royal Bank of Scotland, having gone into a moral downslide of mind-boggling proportions, their shares dropping from 23 pounds to virtually 23 pennies just a few years ago. So, Charles, why don't you try it out for yourself? It's a neat expereince, as no doubt other new Canadians will testify to. Hope to see you soon and we can reminisce about past good times in Blighty. Cheers the noo .
  24. I do think that Rosscoe would have thought twice about moving to Ross County had he been treated with more respect (in his view anyway) and that he could very well be bad news for ICT on derby day. If you think that another bunch of loaness will come in at the last moment and play in the derby, not knowing the other players very well nor their type of moves and play and not Terry's "new " systems etc, and save the day, you may be delusional. As IHE says, County will be concentrating on their defence and the hiring of SPL players will give them a solid advantage in this respect. This is an ambitious management. So where is Terry going to get new and experienced SPL players from now? And can he even put a team together by the starting day of the season? Is anybody relying on the likes of Ian Black coming back? If so where would his higher wages come from? What I am worried about is what will be the outcome at the end of this coming season? If the team gets relegated then Terry will have to go--his contract is up anyway. But will a new Manager make any difference since by then one can reasonably think that the fan base wmay be reduced a lot more, the money won't be there unless a tooth fairy arrives with a full bag of money and the next season could be even worse, because the loanees will probably have left to go back and someone will have to start the merry-go-round up again, but it definitely may not be Terry with his English contacts. Oh My!
