King Beastie Och! What's life without a smile eh?

Some positive action by Terry. Chris Hogg appears to be a good, forward-looking move. At his age , if given the right encouragement, he could do a right good shift for Caley Thistle well into his "thirties". We all know that something is really wrong at the Hibs - I mean, how could the former club captain not be in the team as it is? Additionally, the poster who extolled his character virtues has a very good point. He can lead the younger players by example and he can set an example of what true professionalism is --hard work, dedication and honesty of attitude and purpose.Which is exactly what theteam needs to find in all new players. I think that once all the new signings for ICT get their boots under the table and we get a few more wins under our belts , this team may very well find their 1st Division form again and, if so, anything is possible. The other two English players? If they are determined to make the most of their "first team" places then they could also be very good signings. What I am hoping is that ICT will , from now on, simply get better and better and then we may have an embarrasment of riches . Which means we would have plenty of good cover for injuries and/or we could get good money for the odd player if we chose to transfer them for whatever reason, if they are on a contract by then. I feel that Terry is proving to be a great asset to Caley Thistle and, under his drive , leadership and encouragement of budding stars, we now could be on the verge of great progress. The Pimple is optimistic....

Well, Donview, you never know but I may make the trip over to take you up on your offer if we win the cup. What a blast that would be for this year. Scarlet

Well, that tackle on Shinnie against the Dons was a disgrace and could easily have severely injured him. I will rephrase that --it was a BLOODY disgrace! I think some of the more Tokely-esque players on the team should march up to the offender in the opposing team, clasp his hands behind his back and push the guy around with his chest and keep at it. Can hardly be construed as rough stuffand how can it be a foul when the feet and hands are not used. Just a thought. There is no doubt that if you don't stand up for yourself you can easily get sat upon. As Rodney Dangerfield was wont to say.--"You don't get no respect" A bit of shoulder shoving would not go amiss either. If all else fails, our players could creep up behind the other guy when the ref was not looking and scream a shocking noise into his ear --now that would be unnerving . A burst eardrum is no joke. Even better, every member of ICT could creep up on the ref at any moment and shout at the top of their voice"FOUL." Apart from that, let's beat the opposition fair and square...

Not necessarily DBD. They might just want the opportunity to look at another option and choose which player they think will fit in better for their team. Let's give both the new players a real chance to fit in the team to see what they can do. Who is worried about 5.7" being a drawback? If the player can run round the opposing team's players who cares? Jonny Hayes is short is he not......? It's spirit and heart that matters , right? Juanjo was not exactly a big bruiser was he? C'mon give the lads a chance.

At 5 foot seven inches, stocky and quick. A bit like Jonny , methinks. Me also thinks that he will be very tricky and direct. And being on the small side, a target for some of the dirtier SPL players. He will learn a lot from playing in the SPL and he may also inject a bit of urgency and renewed spirit into the team. Very interesting signing. POSITIVE. Could be a star with us.

So you are not coming then? Och! Fairweather fan--won't even travel 3000 miles to see his team.
-
Mike--not picking you out or anything but I translated your post and it was "We couldn't take out chnces and didn't score enough goals to win". Anything else is hyperbole.

"There is many a slip twixt cup and lip." And that applies to all the other teams as well as ICT.Regardless of how many games that ICT have played they do have the points in the bag and as a result are ahead of the others behind them. Secondly, Adam will get his act together in a more mature and professional way if no one comes in for him by the end of January. He has to if he expects his career to end on a high, this season or any other. Thirdly, Jonny will shortly be fully fit and this will lift the team. He sure looked effective in the vide I have just seen. That pass that he slotted through towards the end was magic. So the team has to hold the ship steady, get their determination and confidence back up to speed and things will get back on track. And if Terry reaches what he feels is a safe-point in the season maybe he should throw caution a little bit to the winds and order ALL_OUT_ATTACK. YES!

On the other hand it might be at Swangard Stadium which is in the suburbs and musch closer to where I live. So no t a problem.

The Whiteaps appear to have taken a really young player onto thier books in preparation for their MLS debut.. He was 2nd in the draft and , as a new MLS entrant, they had first choice in the draft but moved in favour of this youngsterinstead. They had been watching him for some time and from the way they are talking about him he must be the new budding Lional Messi or something. From what the coaches are saying he has literally everyuthing to be a great star. Let's just wait and see. I think the first Canadian teams meeting will be a somewhat nervy affair. But I won't be there I don't think, because the stadium is downtown and the transport from the suburbs will be packed. I never drive a car into the downtown because it's either one-way streets or buses and cars galore. Anyway, Scotty , if you are thinking of coming to Vancouver be sure to give me call well beforehand and we can meet up. And you can even stay with me, overnight or whatever, in Maple Ridge and take it from there and, if you want, I can meet you at the airport and will make sure that you can get to one of the Skytrain (elevated guideway rail transport) stations for the match. Cheers Scarlet

Once experienced an earthquake here in the suburb of Richmond on the outskirts of Vancouver. B.C. It was many yeras ago and was early in the morning. I woke up and wondered what the shaking was ; put the light on and saw the lights dancing around like crazy and the bed was shuddering. It did not last long but I knew right away what it was. On the West Coast of Canada we sit very close to the San Andreas fault line running South to North which denotes the areas where the Pacific Plate is slowly pushing under the plate on which North America sits. A huge shift in the plate as it breaks free of the resistance is now overdue and the experts are emphatic that it is not "if" but "when". This is now referred to as the "Big One". The fault line is about a hundred or so miles West of the coastline but, when it shifts, the alluvial silt deposited at the delta mouth of the Fraser River will liquefy and I shudder to think what will happen to all the homes and people jammed into that suburb, mostly Chinese. When I arrievd in B.C. I stayed there and at that time it was a small community of about 20,000 people at most. Now, with the huge influx of so many Chinese immigrants , many of whom are very rich, the population is now 100,000 and the cost of homes there is very high indeed. There are Malls in Richmond where I am told you won't be served if you do not speak Chinese. Even the street signs are in Chinese as well as English. A few tremors are felt from time to time lasting no more than a minute or less but it is a fact that the older buildings on the West coast of North America will not be able to resist the shaking of the Big One and there will be huge damage and loss of life.Just as it was in San Francisco in the 1920's. Ulp.

Inverness bid to land Raith forward Tade
Scarlet Pimple replied to Ivy League's topic in Rumour Mill
If he injects attitude.i.e., a hard work rate and plenty of effort, he will be good for the team. Sounds like there is a litle bit of a lack of desirew to push on forwrad vigorously. Dunno myself, because you are there and I am over here, but---sounds like something is nagging away at the psychology of this team. If Foran is falling off and not trying quite as hard as he could or SHOULD ,then the support of a grafter may be what he needs to "shame" him into more effort or just inspire him. What concerns me about the reports about Richie is ...is there something on his mind or what? Mybe he is a bit fed up with all the stuff about Adam Rooney which is frankly turning into a lot of ballyhoo and may be seriously affecting Adam's performamce. For sure, if Rooney has scaled down his capability performance by 50% then he is not going to do his chances of getting an immediate big,fat transfer in the immediate future any good. Adam should accept the ICT contract that he has been offered and get on with it.--then show what he is really worth.Sounds like a very gooid contract indeed form a player who, from reports, was not in contentioin in England. Rooney would be well advised to get his mind off Boys in Berne, Ruskis in Romania and -
You are really on the ball Scotty. I think that I will do the same because I tam now realising that this blocking thing is getting more "over the top" by the day.

Anyway, for those who can post updates on this thread I say "thank you".

MFR is also restricted to U K only. Looks like the world has gone mad! When I was a very young lad I could tune in to any radio (wirelsss) programme emanating from any earth source. More stations than I could ever want. Now, apparently, radio waves are not available unless you PAY FOR THEM . It does seem that in an era where communication capabilities have never been so fast and easy, the less freedom we have to enjoy it all. Why, oh why, have the BBC now even restricted 'Open all Mics" to the U.K. only. ?????

I can't just figure out what the root of the problem is at Easter Road. Probably depression all round now.

So what do you think of the Vancouver Whitecaps for the coming season, Scotty. Have you studied them at all. I wish we could have an exchange with ICT of promising youngsters.

Watching the state that Hibs are in is rather daunting to say the least. But the spirit seems to have gone.Very sad for a great club with a fine history behind them. ICT may not be a bigger club than Hibs but so long as they can keep up their spirits then they will be fine. Remember, folks, we should be empathetic to them because "There but for the grace of God go I"
