I can't find the video of Caley's match from last Saturday versus Motherwell. Is it not going to be posed this week, Scotty ? Hope so but maybe I am missing something? Scarlet the Puzzled.

Excellent price and a fantastic bargain for anyone who has a car that is large enough to fit these tyre! My Chrysler Sebring takes a 205 /60/R16 and got 4 for the price of 3 at about 106 pounds each, brand new. I had to buy a larger size (mistake!) because the Dealer did not have the correct size but they were not cheap tyres--Michelin, supposed to be the top of the line. Hope you can find a buyer. Hankook appears to be a good make .

Where is Formartine ??

Good.he is too.

If you are interested, you can see the game on video. You know, Peter Pan plays his pipes twice periodically. Still bemused ? Pm me .

A bit odd that he did not impress at the Hibs. Maybe the ...well... slightly larger stage either did not suit him or the team and tactics didn't? OPr, he simply did not fit in. Might do well again at Caley but going back is not always the greatest idea.

Lennon Juanjo incident and other red cards...
Scarlet Pimple replied to hobopete's topic in Caley Thistle
Sounds like it would be an easy ride for your digestive system IHE. Just a ginger snap, like? -
Have always enjoyed these reports. Clearly well researched and heart felt too.

A Canadian what IHE? You had me worried there for a moment . At first take I thought it was something about prepubescentCanadianpeniledropsy -- forced out of you by my your awareness of my advancing years but not aware of the Pimple's fitness programme designed to keep these years at bay. However, when the brain dementia inevitably kicks in I have your number dear boy.

My! MY! Both IHE and Scotty are really animated today. Long may it continue. You two guys have just made my day . Ha! Ha! --a breath of fresh air indeed. Scotty you will have to post more often my man. Had a wee drammie before kick -off did we,.. eh? That's the spirit I say.

IHE---- Ha! Ha! Ha! At time thou canst be brilliant - for an old weeezing medic.

Not quite sure that we should be thinking in terms of being satisfied with 11th place at all. There are quite a few teams that have greater resources than Caley thistle--e.g. Dundee United, Hibs,Kilmarnock --- who have played goodd football in the past but started this season very poorly and could have been in a very bad position now had things continued as they were doing. All these teams have had a resurgence and higher ambitions than just avoiding relelgation. With the right training (bring back Brewster..eh?), the right motivation (Terry seems to do that job very well), the right enthusiasm and very few injuries this team is just as good aS MANY ANOTHER AND FURTHERMORE THE SPIRIT THAT THEY HAVE DISPLAYED IN THE PAST 2 YERAS HAS BEEN IMPRESSIVE AND A DEFINITE FACTOR IN THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE TEAM . SUMMARY-ICT HAVE THE NUCLEUS OF A GOOD TEAM AND WE SHOULD STOP WHINING ABOUT "PUNCHING ABOVE OUR WEIGHT". THIS IS A PHRASE I DON'T LIKE BECAUSE IT SOUNDS SO DEFEATEST. P.S. Sorry about the capitals--totally inadvertent.Mea Culpa.

So IHE ==come clean please. how old are you really?
-
And I see that RonnyC is also up and about in the East?

Yes, IHE, we are out here in the boonies -overseas. And lurking. However, there is no radio action at all and I am filling in the time between glimpsing your comments by fiddling with the kettle, skinning my early morning banana, speaking to the wife who is about to depart to work and stroking the cat. O.K. Back to checking this thread===oh! A goal. Wow--it's all worth getting up for then --time is 7.45 am in The Wild West of North America.

Al I hope is that the niggly comments on here don't infect the players because the team does not need that if it wants to get up off the floor. When I had a service business I hired a good-looking boy who said all the right things. Shortly after I had personlly trained him and obtained his agreement that he fully understood the work before I let him "go out" on his own, I was appalled to find out shortly afterwards that said lad was not even making the slightest attempt to do the simple work assigned to him. So on the same evening I fired him, accompanied by some pointed comments, and his retort was "you know ,Scarlet, you will get more with honey than with vinegar" which took the wind out of my sails because I then realised that his appearance and assurances had fooled me. And I should have kept a close eye on ho\im from the beginning. The moral of the story is ....you can lead a horse to water but if his heart isn't in it, or he does not have a highly developed character or a very good and responsible attitude, then you had better cut your losses. Terry does not have that option, no matter how much he jiggles the contents of the pot, he needs the players he has to do the work and this is not a big club with a big budget. Not saying that any, or all, of the players fall into the type of category I mention but many injuries have totally disrupted the team, repeat losses have undermined the confidence of these players and, as mentioned above, probably this team is no longer fresh and think in their hearts that relegation will not now regardless. The question is ...Is the team now off the boil and , if so , what lies ahead for Terry and Mo?

Terry will have a good dram tonight. He will need a good sleep to face the 'morrow.

Renegade--when you consider the fact that the majority of the points were obtained away from home by ICT, your post is somewhat ironic is it not? During these away games Caley Thistle basically played a more defensive role, according to the reports that I read anyway, then very often hit on the break did they not? The goals came because the team had players, like Hayes, who drove forward into the defence of the opposition with speed and skill and determination. But the team did not apparently always attack throughout the game and their defensive formation and tactics played a very significant part in their victories. As you know I favour attack rather than defence but I realise that injuries can upset the team, the positional play and the rhythm of their game so we had better not say too much at this stage when the team is going through a bad spell of injuries and the pain of some depressing defeats.

It was the reception then IHE......my reception. No question aboot it. That's why I had to give in to my wife's demands and went out and bought a 55 inch T.V. I wanted a 46" and she wanted a 50" so we compromised as you can see. Shoot! About Esson--I didn't say he had a bad game. Just pointing out that he was quite a bit off his line for the one that beat him. Esson actually did very well in all other situations. Like a well-oiled engine.-- with Esson Extra in it . And Tokely was doing great until he also faded later on. Eric--I said he went for a tackle or two. I didn't say at any time that he came away with the ball did I? Running in circles but he tried, he definitely did.

Talking about pitches did you see the seemingly poor stste of Hibernian's pitch? Looked like a starving rat in places.
-
I don't really see why you all are blaming Hogg for the first goal. Ryan Esson was well off his line and seemed transfixed as it came towards him. Nine out of ten of that type of ball would have hit the bar or gone over and it was a bit of a fluke to be honest IMHO. Also I did see Hogg run like the clappers half-way across the park to go in to one of the Hibs' players with a bang and the ball and the player went over the line for a throw-in., He seems to be a worker and is not afraisd to shift to get the ball. Rooney and Foran were good today? Are you on something? Sorry! Were they actually playing for goodness sake? Neither of them appeared to be dangerous at all and faded out of sight for periods. Or was the fuzzy T.V. picture I was watrtching the cause of all this? Miller of Hibs was some player yesterday--industrious, pacy enough, skilled enough to take on and beat a few of our guys etc. I wish he was in our team. Rordan did a bit of puffing but although he came close at times he was not really that much of a threat I don't think. Sure, he is a clever lad, but his long range attempts at goal were unlikely to trouble Esson. In the first 15 to 20 minutes I thought Hibs were going to score at least two and looked really dangerous. They had, at least at that stage, urgency and hunger in their play that Caley lacked and I was nervous --this fired up the crowd and they had their chances I must say. Eric ran about a lot, did tackle a couple of times but frankly speaking was ineffective. Doran tried hard and also backtracked quite a lot, which meant he had to run distances to catch the player who got past him. Why is he the only one dsignated to take all corners. Two successive corners of his went sailing over all the heads and out over the goal lines -- completely wasted efforts!! Inexperience ? Probably and tiredness a bit, maybe. Have a good week coming up.

Yup! I noticed that,--a bit strange eh?And their log-in was a disaster -could not find a way to get it right..kept getting into a cul de sac . So I emailed them and a nice guy named Martin sent me the webpage for the TV viewer without my needing to log -in. Now that is a smart guy who knows how to service his customers. After that it was good. Their Tv service package is for overseas video viewers only which is ineteresting.Competitively priced too. Was great to see our team in action and to be able to assess the performance for myself instead of relying on other folks to update me. Geez--I didn't make a spelling mistake in that sentence, theings are looking up. It's a bit like their pitch--needs an upgrade! Their T V is not too bad is it? What did you think of it? When the sun was up the East stand was so bright that one could not make out any spectators but this improved as the sun moved. Good crowd there today. Dunno how many; could not judge but at least 10,000 to 12,000 I reckon. Will watch the report.

were the better team and deserved to win. Caley has quite a bit of work to do, Are they as fit as they could be?
-
Hibs were the better team and growing in confidence. They have some very "possession-driven" players who are very good at keeping and distributing the ball. Frankly, overall, Caley were second to the ball throughout the match and simply did not put as much effort into the whoLe thing as the Hibs team DID who clearly wanted ppossession and a win more. Some of our passing was woeful, intercepted by Hibs players time after time. It's not about the players getting tired because that affects both sets of players . Where was Adam Roooney today--nothing but a ghost? ! And the second Hibs goal caught Esson off his line and ,,,sure,,,it was unexpected but these guys are industrious and dangersous and I see them continuing to climb up the table on this display. We simply did nokt match them in aggression and effort. And let me just add that this was not a dirty match at all. But it was about industry, wanting to win and controlling the ball. Hitting on the break is fine for an experienced team with a very strong defence but is unlikely to win matches by itself. Terry, IMHO, should have made more changes earlier in the match and just gone for attack. Foran was not effective and ICT left it all too late. After MacDonald came on he tried hard but had little support and there was no cohesion up front By that time the team had faded and Doran must have been getting really tired because at least two succesive corners went past the goal and out over the line -a complete waste. And he seesm to be the only player designated to take corners because I see him running from one side of the park to the other to do this. Is that good? Not much else to say. Hibs
