  1. Very solid, thoughtful posts in this thread. And not hysterical or vituperative, thank goodness. Richie's contract will also be solid so why litigation would necessarily be long-winded or protracted is an open question and very undesirable too. If he is to stay at Caley Thistle then the other staff had better make the best of it and establish a good working relationship without holding grudges-after all he probably did try do his best and it's important that all staff are on good terms and try to get along for the good of the club and each others' future too. The club should, and probably will, be anxious to meet reasonable terms for dismissal but more likely, IMHO, they will try to offer him another position within the club as an assistant to a much more experienced manager. That way, face is saved and also he will gain experience as to how other, more successful, folks manage more effectively. With Kenny gone, how will the other Board Members fare as to the making of decisions do you all think? Will they be rational and cautious or knee jerking decisions? David Moyes is shattered and is unlikely now to get another Premier League job, according to the article I read. So he won't need an assistant. He did very well financially out of past moves he has made and is not short of a pound apparently. That Northern team that sacked him will owe him a lot of money and a previous berth he also had before that will continue paying him as well. Not bad for a guy who simply has not been able to cut the mustard eh? All I can say is "let's turn over a new leaf, start anew and hope for the very best through unity, respect and passion.

  3. OMG, how difficult is this current scenario and what can actually be done to sort it? It's not going to be a quick fix I don't think. I don't fancy Mr. Cameron's position as Board Chairman but he's stuck with it now because, if he resigns, many people might allege that he is a quitter in the club's hour of need. And who, pray, would replace him at this stage? I am glad that, finally, Fisher's hard work and play is being recognised. If your bike is parked Mr. Fisher then walk up the stairs to the Boardroom ,. knock on Mr. Cameron's door and make HIM an offer, pronto. If they hum and haw for days or weeks then the ball must surely be in your court ? Cole and Mulraney are tricky players but how many times do they fall over themselves and their nods and becks and wreathed smiles ( credits to Shakespeare) turn into nothing-ness. This season they seem to have promised much and delivered very little. On the left side of the park one bamboozles the opposition for yards and ends up losing the ball whereas, on the right side, the other can't cross a ball into the box for absolute toffee after maybe getting into a good position to do so. And when Cole went ape recently he did not do himself or the club any favours; so give the man a ticket back to England because now costs must be cut one way or the other..............? And it's no use looking South to David Moyes as a potential manager because, in addition to other things, such as the elementary fact that he would consider ICT as beneath him, he must be mentally and emotionally shattered at this point in his continuously retreating career which has basically now really fallen apart at the seams. Poor guy! Stability at Everton for years followed by an unprecedented downward spiral that never seemed to stop must have shattered his self-confidence and made him a definitely risky hire. I wonder now if even John Hughes would consider a comeback knowing that the club's finances must be low. If he is low in his mind, as well, maybe he might consider another shot? At least at this point we may be able to get him at a much lower price and for a longer period of time 'cos Johnnie is not getting any younger, either, like Mr. Pimple. He still has the passion for success. And a strong hand on the tiller and on the players may just be what the Doctor ordered for our beloved team...Eh? Hey! I'm a believer that life is very short and letting bygones be bygones is often a very good strategy for showing an understanding that mistakes are mistakes and we all learn from that don't we and become closer too? Chentlemen of the Chury--I've been quite depressed since last Saturday and I think that it's time to move on, if for no other practical reason than the fact that we don't have too many better options do we? Just a thought or two from Beautiful British Columbia where, finally, the sun is shining and the birdies are twittering in the trees. Back to the lawn mower then...
  4. The question is what did they say to merit that description. And in what circumstances too?
  5. Belfast Brigade, when I tried to give you a green dot for your post I was told I am not allowed to give you a green dot. What on earth is that all about I wonder? That's the second time I have seen this statement about my not being able to give green dot for what is clearly a positive and uplifting post. I think you are marvellous and being so far away from Inverness merely emphasizes how excellent an attitude and example you are to other fans of Caley Thistle. So, for this post that you have just made, I have given you another green dot....and lo and behold, surprise, ....it has registered. Must be a glitch in the site's programming then? Hope you stick around for next season since you are an inspiration to all our fans. Cheers. Scarlet
  6. Aye! And maybe that's Kirk-O-Shotts . Weary and eerie.....http://haunted-scotland.co.uk/kirk-o-shotts-church/
  7. I fancied Fisher from the time he first started with Caley thistle. That first goal from the left sideline was impressive - saw a chance, took it and hit a very hard and accurate ball for a great goal. After that my eyes glazed over as I read the negative criticisms of his play. Today he had casual and calm goals but he deffo knows where the net is. Nobody is always going to be perfect but he's a good player, nonetheless. See you all next season I guess. Keep into touch with auld Scarlet though.
  8. Think positive and we will. Isn't it amazing what a couple of wins will achieve in boosting team spirit and extra energy output. Looks like this team has been invigorated to have greater confidence in themselves. Could be a miraculous ending to the season.
  9. And one for IHE cause he's good at duplicating comments of worth. By the by, I'm really relaxed now and personally could not care less if their shots on goal were fewer 'cos obviously they were more accurate. What a start to the game. Dee must have been shell shocked...eh? Whee!
  10. Well, Kingsmills ,I have given you a green do for that one. Right on Sir. Wheeee!
  11. Here are the statistics..not quite as comfortable if the stats are accurate? http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39866512
  12. I was watching the video and by half-time I already had that terrible sinking feeling mingled with resignation, a bit of despair and depression. If Richie thinks that the first half performance had anything to write home about he is talking through his feelings filter and not the one linked with his eyes. The Killie defenders had the Caley boys totally under control and the general standard of football was slow and pedantic with only a bit of skill related to accurate passing to suggest we were watching a Premiership match in any way, shape or form. The Killie defence was resolute and effective and ICT could not seem to get a decent ball near their goal at all. This resulted in an awful first half played non-frenetically mostly in midfield, with our goalie's mistake perhaps bringing a bit of disbelief and excitement into the.picture.. By half time I could hardly believe my eyes at what I had been seeing and it was not a pretty sight. Second period had to grind through one half before the Killie management decided on packing their end of the park with their players to try to save the 2-0 lead for a win. Allowing Caley to creep upfield and score a good goal. And then finally, the boys started to pass long balls with accuracy and with flair and I was again watching a good Premiership team applying pressure and skill against a rather desperate Killie defence. Except that hardly a ball ended up in the goal area at all. Then it all petered out in a whimper and it's back to the drawing board I am afraid. Richie looked anxious and vexed throughout the match and so deflated by the end that I felt sorry for him. The thin, tall, persistent Longstaffe was a good worker for the opposition and deserved his goal. But there was little urgency from an apparently discombobulated Caley team and it seemed as if the whole team was under some kind of a dwam, lacking in passion and confidence with practically no understanding as to where to pass quickly in attack. Rudderless I am afraid although the 2nd half did perk things up..............
  13. Anyone but Butcher--even Yogi, but I really just don't believe in going back. !
  14. Old Caley Girl It's not easy to see a great player with skill and heart brought down to a different level of consciousness in a situation where he appears to be out of his depth or just doesn't fit in. It could be better for him to make a change of his place in the scheme of things and think about moving on to something else. That , in turn, could lead to greater peace and eventually greater happiness. Easy to say but nothing ventured nothing gained, Richie. Staying put will probably ensure that you remain stuck or it may take a long time to become comfortable again. Whatever the road you choose, best of luck.
  15. looks greener over the fence.
  16. Spring-ing out to cut their lawns.
  17. Richie is upbeat but Martin Canning is sure canning the referee and many others for their bias against Hamilton and giving them penalty awards at the drop of a hat for much of the season And here was me thinking that it was just ICT who have been the butt of referees' bad, or deliberately biased decisions. He just stopped short of swearing, kicking turf and naming names....... let's hope I picked up the right video.! http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39830949
  18. That penalty that some felt should have been awarded against us today (haven't yet seen the video , will do so this afternoon. I was in bed at 4 a.m this morning and the alarm under my pillow never went off, well, do you think the ref had been told to "ignore the next penalty against ICT" because the one against them recently was not correct since the ball never crossed our goal line? Just a thought....

  20. You know, it was funny recently when I was looking at a match at Bayview on my computer and could not for the life of me understand why the park settings were different to what I remembered when I was much, much younger and was sent to Methil by the Royal Bank of Scotland after I came back from National Service in the RAF. Now it all figures. What happened to the old Bayview stand etc. Torn down..? I stayed just up the hill from the bank branch and in the same street as the tough, but fine, Branch manager named James Simpson, in the first house I ever purchased at the other end of the street. - a wee stone built bungalow with two bedrooms, one very small kitchen, living room, bathroom and an add-on glass conservatory where we grew tomatoes. In order to get the money to buy it I had to go over to the Head Office and ask the staff Manager if they would please lend me the money since we also had a very sick child to look after and we were at that point living in Leven in one room. Yep! Them were the days. I sure enjoyed some of the games at Bayview where five forwards in a line in full flight rushing down the park set the blood afire.
  21. Rebel Without a Clue Why, you ARE a very naughty man! You've hacked my post just above yours and almost made it unrecognisable to me. That's' almost plagiarism. And we can't have that on 'ere. mate. You gave me a real turn, I have to say that . I was thinking...did I really write that, was I drunk or what?.Or just really tired after a long hard day watching telly. Oh well, it takes all kinds to make a world.
