  1. IHE for once you've got me stumped...
  2. BOY! if I were to drive down main Street over here in that rig then I sure would draw some shocked glances.
  3. Kinda near the truth there Bughtie. I got the short wave radio broadcasts on my dad's Grundig radio. And I also diligentkly sought out radio Luxembourg. Looks like the Gerries had some good radio stuff in them thar early days. Nearly won the war with it until Bendict Cumberbatch scotched their plans by inventing the code-breaking machine named ENIGMA.
  4. That wall is beautifully built--shows a real tradesperson's touch.
  5. Eastgate on a day when the tribe is being shepherded to the stock yards?
  6. Charlie, Seagulls are not incontinent. They just have loose bowels and are diarrhetic. Being incontinent means they are currently abroad. Being a broad means being a gangsters's moll Being a Moll can be confused with a wifie being obsessed with shopping at the Mall Shopping can be obsessive so that's why men are out of pocket. Out of Pocket means that he is Forty Pocket's brother. OMG. How will this all end?
  7. Acceptable syntax .
  8. A German Doctor?
  9. Can't help you on that one I'm afraid. You see we did not have a TV when I was young(er) . But I could get short wave on the wireless. Schenectady, Hilversum etc. Exciting days eh?
  10. You had better, Smee, lest IHE thumb's his nose at you. On the other hand, if you do tell him all you know, he will give you the unique gesture for which he is notorious.. yes,........ it'''''''s the thumbs-up, quickly followed by a Knees up Mother Brown in his Mackenzie kilt......
  11. All noted with humility. I am currently running a Chrysler product--the 2008 Sebring sport .Nice car. Hence the imperative to spell the company's name right. Clancy, IBM, was a Mountie (a member of the Royal North West Mounted Police) both on and off his horse. But when on his horse he was certainly also mounted and really....mea culpa....I am deffo a mountebank for drawing your attention to the spelling thing anyway ? : Well, I think that in the mid 18-hundreds the rebel named Lois Riel (used to be called a half-breed but not now...indigenous member of Canadian Society or something nowadays) posed a half-baked threat to the Brits who were in power in Ottawa. So they formed the North West Mounted Polis to go after him..which they did with a large enough posse of troops as well and obliterated him and his merrie men. Actually he survived and was hanged with suitable glee by the Sanctimonious of the time. Needless to say Indigenous natives have suffered all kinds of privations and rotten attitudes and treatment since then. Which was , as much as anything, the reason why Geronimo made fools of the Yankees for years and ended up being honoured by them. But--that's for another day because all I can say is .. "don't get me started." Sorry--can't remember the Japanese girl, IBM. Was she like a female Tarzan?
  12. Dean..Minimum.
  13. W as she a MacBean as well then?
  14. Spelt Chrysler and was that also a Sunbeam Talbot? Jim Fird--did you ever see "Clancy of the Mounted" at the La Scala. All about our "finest" -- Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Funny how that name sticks although I was a very little boy at the time.
  15. OOPS! With the bizarre weather changes that are taking place round the world we can't honestly say that we now get any snow in Western Canada..at least around the 49th parallel (U S Border) but Scotty and the Easterners had just about as bad a winter as you could possibly imagine. A report on the TV News said that one snow dump left 2 metres on the ground. One guy,. apparently opened his door to look at a snow wall jammed into his frame so was unable to get out . I felt really sorry for these Canadians because even a few weeks ago they were still getting bad weather whilst we , in the Pacific North West, had nothing to complain about apart from the usual --constant rain and damp and cold conditions with the odd bright spot when the clouds disappeared for a day or so. And that is why elderly Canadians are called "Snowbirds" because they go south to Florida or California for the sunshine and heat when Winter approaches --eases the aches and pains of arthritis for a while you see, mostly prevalent amongst British Columbians on the West Coast. They purchase a large caravan type of vehicle that is called a Recreation Vehicle --has a kitchen and bed in it etc. and they park it on a rental area in the Southern States for several months and are happy as sandlarks. Whilst guys like me have to put my hands in hot water to straighten out the twists and knots in my knuckles.
  16. I admire the undying loyalty of Ronaldo.
  17. If I am right IHE, then that is the former territory of my clan ..MacBean..at Dores.
  18. I'm a man of few words.
  19. Encouraging crowd today. Maybe the population of Inverness and district is beginning to wake up to the ICT feats . Reviewing the text of the BBC commentary of the game, the stats at the end show ICT well ahead in the dominance department. ?
  20. Jeez , you guys are plumb loco, Festus.
  21. Looking at loch Ness from the Dores area...? Long shot, huh? Smile
  22. Looks mightily like the mill at Kingsmills looking at it from the downwind Culcabock side....? But it isn't , isn't it? Has that mill now been demolished...?
