  1. Hope it's Hibs away rather than Hearts. Nothing wrong with a game at Tynecastle but given we play them on March 1st two away games v Hearts at Tynecastle in less than a week is a bit much!
  2. Morton away please. A chance to see Former Future World Player of the Year Conor Pepper.
  3. Now the original post is not clipped! I give up Anyway, might not have been the best game but I think we deserved that. I felt we created the better chances overall and whilst Motherwell edged the first half we were the better side in the second. Great play by Tremarco to make the first goal. Not seen hi show that kind of speed, well, ever! Perhaps an error by the Well defence thinking they had more time or another man over but credit Tremarco for getting to it and then playing in such a good ball to Storey. So it went in off McManus but we'll take it. Disappointing goal to concede. Devine didn't cover himself in glory with a rash challenge when Motherwell broke which led to the corner from which they scored but we really need to defend set pieces better. After their goal I thought we continued to look the better side. It was only after we took Storey off and played Williams up front we started to struggle as he was unable to hold the ball up as well as Storey had been doing. As a result Motherwell were able to counter our attacks with a lot more ease than they had done in the game previously. However I think our overall performance (just) merited the win and what a goal to win it. I thought it was going well over but delighted to see it rifle into the net. Some scenes in the ICT end. There might have been less than 300 of us there but there were bodies and fists flying all over the place in a twisted mess of celebration and 'Round ya!' gestures to the Motherwell Bois. I thought Tremarco was perhaps our best player. He was good defensively and offered a good bit of support going forward. Devine had a game that encapsulated his season. Some heroic defending one minute and then he was losing his man which nearly saw us concede. Mutumbo started well but faded quite a lot. Didn't give Raven much help defensively and, like Williams on the left, had a habit of coming inside a lot meaning we weren't playing with a lot of width for most of the game. Jordan Roberts showed some very nice touches when he came on and hopefully we'll see him starting in games in the near future. Looks a good one.
  4. That's weird. When I posted the link to the Twitter account with the goal it showed up fine on this site but now it's getting clipped and you can't see the video. Stuck the link in again just in case.
  5. No idea if it was the same 'young team' but there was a good crowd of younger fans who were in superb form today getting behind the team and then getting it right up the 'Motherwell Bois' when Roberts scored
  6. Managers tend to have favourite players. As you say Butcher and Brewster did, chances are so does Hughes. Nothing wrong with it but if players like Vincent and Raven leave because they are not favoured by Hughes it will be the first time in a while we lose players who are perhaps considered 'major' for us since Munro and Duncan.
  7. A Motherwell fan on P & B has said that there will be a minutes applause in the 23rd minute for a Well supporter who recently passed away age 23.
  8. No idea. Hope they can get along though.
  9. Sneckboy is Greg Tanseys agent IMO.
  10. Look forward to seeing the Young Team at Motherwell. Always good to have folk who get behind the team
  11. Apologies for sounding like a broken record but why the f'ck do we wait so long to get our players signed up on new deals? Why aren't contract extensions sorted out the summer prior to a players deal expiring? OR at worst, before the transfer window opens when clubs can sign up our out of contract players on a PCA?
  12. Clearly Aberdeen don't feel like they have anything they should be apologising for and reckon it should in fact it should be ICT saying sorry.
  13. Whilst it was funny to chuckle at Ro$$ County defeating Celtic in the League Cup semi final I find it bizarre that some of our fans would want them to actually win the whole thing. So get behind Hibs and cheer them on to victory against the financial might of the wee team from Dingwall.

  14. The ICT statement doesn't really clear anything up, not that I was expecting it to, in fact it probably raises more questions than people had before. Bit of a shambles all round really.
  15. Keith Jackson can f'ck off for all I care. Another person who has no idea what went on trying to pretend he does know. I'd like ICT to clear things up but I know they won't for the reasons Yngwie has set out. Any statement would likely be along the lines of "ICT can confirm they received a bid however we did not feel it triggered the release clause and as such we refused the offer. Greg remains an ICT player and we are happy to have him here." Obviously it would be more formal than that.
  16. Doubt you'd find many on here who thought that way when we were playing Hearts in those epic semi finals and Aberdeen in the final.
  17. Don't agree with this I'm afraid (not the highlighted bit I'll get to that). Whether we would have had time to replace Tansey is of no concern to Aberdeen. I also don't think we've thrown our toys out the pram. To date we have had nothing from the club about their thoughts on the matter (which I find somewhat disappointing) so we don't know if any toy throwing has been done by us! All we have had is rumour and conjecture from journalists about 'bad blood' between the clubs and Twitter gossip. No one knows what happened and the reasons for the deal collapsing apart from the clubs. We've had McInnes say that Hughes felt they acted above board (note that nothing was said about whether the transfer fee / clause was appropraite!) but nothing from ICT. Regardless, as you say Aberdeen had all of January to put in an offer for Tansey and they even admitted to meeting with his agent 'weeks ago' which is when they found out about the release clause (something that I have said already seems very inappropriate to be doing). With that in mind, why they waited so long to put an offer in knowing about the release clause is puzzling. I can only guess that Tansey was not their preferred target and when other options disappeared they went back to ICT thinking that they could snare Tansey for £200,000. Obviously we've disagreed and because of the time constraints no agreement was able to be reached. Had Aberdeen approached ICT a few days earlier and these issues ironed out we might well be seeing images of Tansey in an Aberdeen shirt. Instead, Aberdeen left it too late to put in a suitable offer and resolve any disagreements with ICT about the fee and missed out on the player.
  18. Agree with most of that. I'd be interested to know why Aberdeen were meeting with the agent of one of our players and discussing transfer fees and release clauses when they had made no formal approach to us. EDIT: Don't know why some posters chose to be wankerish to a fan of another team. Seemed a fairly innocent question albeit at a time when peoples backs might be up.
  19. Fon Williams Warren Mutumbo Vigurs Williams Hughes Polworth Draper Tansey Williams Storey
  20. The P & J have tweeted a link to a largely unhelpful story which seems to focus on the ambiguity of the release clause for Tansey. I can only guess that ICT argued that it's only triggered if you pay the full whack up front whereas Aberdeen argued that even in installments the trigger is still meet.
  21. Agree. I was hoping for a wee bit more info coming from our normally vocal, and as a result helpful, Twitter account.
  22. McInnes was (again) recently bleating about the gulf between Aberdeen and Celtic and how they can't compete when they're signing all these players. I wonder if he will be as quick to recognise the gulf in resources between ICT and Aberdeen which (potentially) allows them to gobble up one of our key players for £200k? EDIT: McLean isn't a defensive midfielder.
  23. Not many I'd wager.
