  2. Don't say that. It'll just encourage him to ask for more than the club can afford! Good point. Meekings is shite. Worse than Moshni in my opinion.
  3. As per the Mckay rumour thread The Scotsman is saying a fee of £150k has been agreed between the clubs.
  4. So after a cracking Saturday this could be one of the worst 36 hours for ICT supporters in recent months. Losing Mckay and Shinnie in such quick succession is a massive blow.
  5. I'd place Meekings as one of the best defenders we have ever had. He's brilliant.
  6. Disagree. I saw him in the Union Square Nando's along with Hayes and Rooney setting fire to an ICT scarf.
  7. Yogi should make him serve pies at half time.

Not like someone on here to engage in a reductio ad absurdum.
  9. Not sure whst you expect the board to do? We will quite rightly only offer what we can reasonably afford and I'm confident we offer the best we can. We can't force players to sign and we can't force clubs to buy them mid contact for compensation. Would you prefer we went into debt to keep some players? ETA - and what Scotty said. I hadn't got that far down the thread... I agree with both of you to a point. I don't know if this is the mentality of the club, and I can see why they do it if this is the case, but I don't want us to be holding off on offering contracts to key players in case we don't know what league we might be in. We all knew that Shinnie, Mckay and others had contracts which were running down. Why not make an earlier start in trying to get them to sign up? Could talks have maybe started sooner than they did? Look at Aberdeen now. They are securing their best players well ahead of their contracts running down. Could we not have offered deals to Meekings, Shinnie and Mckay last summer? Maybe we did who knows. In amongst all this rabble is a simple question of why do we (seemingly) let players contracts wind down and lose them for nothing when a more proactive approach might see them secured so that we at least get some cash if they do move on? EDIT: I totally disagree with Scotty. Nando's is ace

Maybe play Shinnie in goals in place of Brill?

To be honest I'm quite happy for Shinnie to play although, like others, I wonder if perhaps he should remain as captain. Of course removing the captaincy from him might piss him off as well. Potentially quite a delicate situation for Hughes to manage.

  13. I'd like to think that we won't lose sight of trying to get other players signed up. Meekings has apparently been keen to sign a new deal with us and has said so twice in the last few weeks (or has been reported as saying so). Let's get contracts on the go for the rest of these guys as soon as possible.
  14. Get Lionel Djebi Zadi back in.
  15. And that's the kind of scenario that might force our hand to make a deal with Aberdeen to see him move sooner rather than later.
  16. Shinnie a bench warmer at Aberdeen Okay it's not a massive step up in terms of playing standard but he'll be making more money and close to family and friends. That might be more important to him than going down South like his brother. I am surprised that no one else seems to have made a move for the guy and hugely disappointed that he's gone to a rival club in the same league but it's absurd to claim that he'll not be playing. He's arguably the best left back in the league. There's no way he'll be left on the bench at Pittodrie.
  17. Won't be playing for us so I see no reason to wish him well especially given he's moving to another team in the same league and one who we are currently very much on a level playing field with.

  20. Where did I say this? It was a lazy copy and paste. Caught out!
  21. Didn't think we were at the races in the first half yesterday. As AM rightly says Accies were pressing us very high up the park and not letting us play it out from the back like JH likes us to do. Imrie especially seemed to be buzzing around our centre backs and there were a couple of mistakes made which, fortunately for us, didn't result in anything. Most of the first half was a midfield scrap. I can't remember us creating too many chances and the best opportunity for Accies was probably the effort from #22 which dipped quickly and almost caught out Brill. The second half though turned the way of ICT and we started to find ourselves in some great scoring positions. Only a few minutes into the second half Mckay found space in the box about 10 yards out but his effort was expertly saved by McGovern. Perhaps indicative of the game so far the opener was also pretty scrappy. A ball hooked over the Hamilton defence was pounced on by Shinnie, his shot was saved by McGovern but as the ball rebounded back out it hit the onrushing Hamilton defender and looped over McGovern and into the net. Very fortunate but happy to take it. McGovern was back in action shortly after denying both Meekings and Mckay from extending ICT's lead. Meekings had his header from a Tansey corner turned round the post and Mckay had another goal bound shot blocked. However the second goal soon arrived. Inverness attacked down the Hamilton right and Mckay played a ball across goal to Draper who played a neat pass back into the middle of the box and Nick Ross seized on it to make it 2 - 0. Only sour note was the injury to Brill. He jumped to claim a high ball and either collided with another player or he landed awkwardly. Apparently he's "popped his knee" which sounds disgusting but JH has said it may not be as bad as first feared. Hopefully he's back soon although I am quite content with Esson deputising for him.
  22. Why, when we are playing well and winning games, do people advocate changing formations and messing with our set up?
