It's an absolute disgrace that, at a time when Scottish football is actually quite interesting with the resurgance of Aberdeen, Hamilton and ICT punching well above their weights in the league, a three way battle for relegation etc. (and that's just in the Premiership), the BBC default to Rangers and Celtic. I know that there is a lot going on at Ibrox that warrants coverage but the apparent indifference shown to other teams in the league by the BBC is staggering. I've said before that Scottish football is quite easy to be negative about but organisations like the BBC have ample opportunity to talk up our game and the great jobs that clubs like Aberdeen and ICT are doing right now. Instead, it's wall to wall coverage of the Old Firm and journalists who can't even distinguish the difference between Saint Johnstone and ICT fans at games. Absolutely pathetic.
  2. I hope ICT win and Partick Thistle lose because I support ICT and I don't support Partick Thistle.
  3. I quite liked Boardroom Banter when it was on the go. Very helpful way of the club communicating with the fans.
  4. Nothing really new. I would like to think everything said has been ongoing for a while. With the clubs wages being what they are I still think it's dangerous to leave it this late in a players contract to start to tie them down. Players with no previous thought of leaving could be turned with the carrot of more money if clubs now approach them. Agreed and exactly the reason why I think we should be more proactive in getting players tied to new deals sooner rather than later.
  5. It's behind a paywall so I've no idea what the article actually says but the headline is encouraging: https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/482456/caley-thistle-step-up-efforts-to-sign-up-players/

I will be sure to caveat everything I post from now on

It's not meant to be a cut and dry "this is where we would be without Mckay". Of course we have no way of knowing exactly how things would have panned out. It's merely a hypothetical scenario and should only be taken at face value.

It's not as straight forward to say that we did fine without his goals earlier this season so it doesn't matter he's away now. His game wasn't just scoring goals. He was still playing in those games where he wasn't scoring and contributing massively to the team. We won't just miss his goals. We'll miss his hold up play, his tireless running, his ability to link well with team mates. Yes other players can perhaps cover but can they do it effectively? Will the team be overly stretched as a result?

Not sure if it was this thread or the one specifically on Billy Mckay but I recall one poster stating that his goals weren't that important anyway. If we took away Mckay's goals this season we would be 11 points worse off compared to where we are now. He's played a major role in getting us where we are now and I think a lack of a replacement of giving fans justifiable cause for concern.

That's what I thought. It looked very familiar.

Some Twitter chat on the go which appears to suggest that Ross County fans stole the same flag after the game on Sunday. No idea how genuine the picture is as it looks like the same one that Saint Johnstone fans took after they pinched the flag.

Come on some of the ridiculous stuff on this thread is laughable. From what I understand GMS was offered a deal at that time but didnt accept. Armstrong was in the youth setup and moved to Dundee to live with his family. Fail to see how club can be at fault for this. The club can only sell players for what other clubs are willing to pay? No? GMS was on trial with us and, IIRC, he was asked to continue the trial for a wee bit longer as TB wasn't sure about him and his injury history. GMS got a permanent contract offer from Airdrie and went with that instead of extending his trial with us. Fair enough. Armstrong was with us but when we got relegated at the end of 08/09 he said he was waiting on a new deal from ICT as his contract had expired. Whilst he was waiting his family moved to Dundee and United stepped in to snap him up as we still hadn't offered him a deal as we were still trying to get our house in order after being relegated. Disappointing.

If it's any consoltation just remember we're still not as shite as Ross County.
  14. Hope these still work:
  15. I thought it was a poor game played on a poor pitch in poor conditions. Boyce and Dingwall had good chances for County in the first half. Good finish by Watkins to open the scoring. We had some reasonable efforts saved / cleared off the line and we paid for not killing the game off. The County goal definitely came off his hand but I am not so sure it was deliberate. We certainly made an arse of trying to defend the cross from Irvine regardless and we should have done better. Can see why we didn't get a penalty for the oh so slight clip by Reguero on Watkins. At the time I didn't think it was a spot kick. Definitely two points dropped for us with some lackadaisical finishing. Worrying signs post Mckay. Hughes will need to get a striker in before the transfer window shuts.
  16. That's not the reason that Lynch doesn't do interviews but whatever.
  17. Highlights still available here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25900500
  18. Just remembered this post. Meekings has apparently been close to signing a new deal / wanting to sign a new deal for some time now. What is going on?

Don't say that. It'll just encourage him to ask for more than the club can afford! Good point. Meekings is shite. Worse than Moshni in my opinion.
  22. As per the Mckay rumour thread The Scotsman is saying a fee of £150k has been agreed between the clubs.
  23. So after a cracking Saturday this could be one of the worst 36 hours for ICT supporters in recent months. Losing Mckay and Shinnie in such quick succession is a massive blow.

I'd place Meekings as one of the best defenders we have ever had. He's brilliant.
  25. RiG replied to Crownboy's topic in Caley Thistle
Disagree. I saw him in the Union Square Nando's along with Hayes and Rooney setting fire to an ICT scarf.
