I enjoyed the game. Maybe it was because I have spent the last few days on the couch with a busted ankle and was just glad to get outside but I can't agree with others who thought it was dreadful. I reckon we had the better chances whilst allowing Aberdeen more of the ball and instead looked to hit on the counter. Credit to Hughes because I thought it worked well. It also looked like we were back to the old 4-2-3-1 system and played a good mix of passing football but became more direct when the opportunity arose to get at the heart of Aberdeen. Really don't think it was as bad as some are making out. Agree fully with Renegade- minus the over the top insults - Mckay was fantastic last night. His game isn't just about scoring. His hold up play is superb and the way he links with fellow attackers is a real pleasure to watch. There was no doubt that he is frustrated at not scoring, we saw a few moans last night from him, but the rest of his game is still on top form as far as I can see. Vincent was a wee bit disappointing and I would be inclined to see Christie start ahead of him. He brings a real creative spark to the side and with Doran and Watkins outside of him I think we have an excellent creative attack that can set up chances for Mckay.

Graeme Shinnie is utterly fantastic. The improvement in his game over the last couple of seasons is incredible. One of the first names on the team sheet every week. Give him a new 5 year deal with a Nandos loyalty card thrown in.

Hibs are a horrible side and their biggest problem is that they simply do not score goals and they are the lowest scorers in the entire division let alone the bottom six. 29 goals from 32 (33?) games this season is abysmal.

Some interesting comments from Mckay in the Press and Journal today. Sounds like a plea to retain wingers in the side to give him chances. "Having Watkins and Doran in was a big help as they gave us good width and both of them played really well tonight. They helped me focus on my own game of getting into the box."

I think if you take Tremarco out (before he gets sent off), stick Shinnie at LB and put Draper in CM, play that formation and style then you would have our strongest XI.

Personally I thought we were back to our usual fast paced, direct style of play tonight rather than the slower, short passing game that was on show in recent fixtures. Maybe Hughes was trolling us all this week to sucker Adams in?
