Pawlett
Pawlett is perhaps their most dangerous player. Hopefully he won't feel the need to throw himself to the floor to win a penalty or a free kick.

Great post and fully agree with this. Imagine Pawlett getting the freedom that was afforded to United on Sunday!?

Inverness CT -V- Hibernian
Lazy cut and paste from Pie and Bovril: Hughes rested a lot of normal first teamers and changed formation. We went with a 4-1-4-1 Brill Meekings Warren Devine Tremarco Foran Doran Polworth Williams Ross Mckay Polworth played slightly deeper compared to Williams who tried to get forward to support Mckay. Both Tremarco and Meekings offered very little support from the full back position which resulted in Ross and Doran being forced back inside into a very crowded midfield which is where most of the "action" seemed to take place. When the ball wasn't bobbling about in the middle of the pitch it was generally being thumped high into the air by both sides who, for a period in the second half, didn't complete a pass to a team mate for a good few minutes. Whilst not unusual for 1) ICT or 2) a team managed by Terry Butcher from an ICT point of view it was bizarre to see all of these aimless long balls thumped up the pitch in the vague direction of Mckay, Doran and Ross when our best ball winner in the air, Foran, was held back patrolling just in front of the back four and was unable to offer any aerial support going forward except at set pieces. Hibs fans will be in a better place to confirm this but one of my Hibee supporting chums told me that under Hughes Hibs would have been as well playing without a midfield given the number of times the ball would be punted over their heads in the general direction of Riordan, Stokes etc. Watmore for Hibs showed some flashes of skill as he dribbled past several ICT players on a number of occasions and was then being bundled over before he could create anything to threatening. Stanton was pretty quiet. The best chances for ICT came when Doran popped up on the left and cut inside flashing a shot / cross into the box which just eluded Mckay before sailing wide. In the second half some neat passing play on the edge of the box played in Doran but Williams was out quickly to smother his shot. The game was summed up on a number of occasions when Doran, McGivern and Forster all, on separate occasions, passed the ball straight out of play under little or no pressure. It really was an exceptionally bad game of football.

What was the pitch like? Still quite bad in places but looked better than in recent weeks. I think it was watered before the match. Polworth stumbled at one point in a part which was almost all sand which led to him losing the ball.

That was a shockingly bad game. Neither side seemed capable of being able to passing the ball preferring to batter it long all night long. Eye gauging stuff.

Official ICTFC League Cup Final Song.....
Quite like it myself. The line about Foran, Doran and the brick wall that is Gary Warren is good.

Team v H*bs on Wednesday
Just had a quick look at the form of both Hibs and ICT. Both Hughes and Butcher have enjoyed or endured much the same run of results since they took up their roles. A quick glance at our results since Hughes came in (League results only) shows he has a record of W 4 D 4 L 5 against a record of W 4 D 6 L 5 for Butcher. I suspect this will be a score draw.

Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd
Sadly I think we were outnumbered by the Away support. The opening two goals were farcical but more frustrating for me was that they were scored within a few seconds of us having the ball well in the United half and, in theory, away from any immediate danger. Before the first goal was scored we actually had the ball, albeit from a throw in, but we somehow contrived to turn it over almost immediately after taking the throw and a couple of quick passes later United were in and had scored. For the second goal we had a corner which was quickly cleared and United raced upfield to grab another goal within seconds of Doran taking the corner. It was incredible how quickly a situation, where there should have been little threat, turned into a goal for the opposition.

Cup Final Ticket Allocation
Good to hear that the players are out and about visiting schools and the like. Any Aberdeen based ICT fans will surely be aware of the nauseating buffoon Charlie Allan and his laughable columns in the Evening Express. Even Aberdeen fans seem to dislike him!

Cup Final Ticket Allocation
I don't agree with a lot of what DC has posted but his last post I fully agree with. Not being able to read much of the local press I don't know what has been said but hopefully the club has, is or will be getting as much exposure as possible to sell as many tickets as possible. Maybe get the players involved to drum up some support by appearing at Tesco or in the Eastgate.

Would you want County relegated this season?
And you're one of those fans that chose Ross County over us. I'd rather have Ross County in the top league than Rangers.
