    Hibs vs ICT

I honestly cannot believe we lost that. We had some cracking chances in that game today and I can't understand how we never scored. I haven't seen the stats but I felt we more than matched Hibs who seemed content to play lovely passes about the place for most of the game. They displayed a real cutting edge at getting the ball into the box through neat interchanges but never threatened too much. Broonie had a great save in the first half. Zibi who is normally utter guff actually pulled off a wonder save to deny Dargo and then Bayne. Given his recent poor performances against us you can see how much that save meant to him. Whittaker went on an amazing run that would have seen him score a wonder had it not gone past the post. In the 2nd half we still had good chances mostly from breaking up Hibs attacks. I thought Wilson was instrumental in most of our attacks like he was against Aberdeen. McBain had a guilt edged chance and for the first time in his entire career decided to use his right foot for something which meant an easy save for the Hibs keeper. We also were getting some success down the right as well with a few breaks into the box putting us close but the final ball was just lacking. Hibs took the lead with a good goal from Fletcher who fired across goal past Brown. Gutted as we had come so close ourselves only minutes before. After this we seemed to lose it a bit and went back to long ball *sigh* and Hibs were content to pass it about for most of the game after that. Not sure about the penalty as it was at the other end of the ground but given that it was Killen who went down and based on the 1st half when he wasn't shy to go to ground I do wonder if perhaps he made the most of any contact. He put it away well though. McSwegan nearly scored an absolute beaut when he came on which would have made up for things somewhat! Referee appeared rather biased towards Hibs. I can't think of any 50 - 50 decision that went our way although given what Dargo did to their keeper I think we got one there for sure! I wonder if Malkowski said something to provoke a reaction like that? To be honest - Dargo should have walked. In honesty though the Ref didn't lose us the game - our inability to finish off our chances did that for us. Such a shame as, like the Hearts game, I don't think the final score was a true reflection on proceedings. Finally I thought we had a great support down today. Really vocal and got behind the team well. How sad then that only 3 players bothered to applaud the Away fans at the game. Well done to Bayne, McSwegan and ? (I can't mind but there was another! Think it was Munro).
  4. I actually thought Hastings did fine. Certainly handled Sproule well. Perhaps a new right back might be an idea though.
  5. Some people back from the game quick to form your opinions of players performances and our style today... We actually played more passing football than ever before and perhaps Dargo was lucky to even be on the pitch at all. Perhaps that's why he was subbed?
  6. Two things here 1) Hibs did allow Away fans in for Students today. 2) Seems Hibs along with Dunfermline are two teams (and there are others) who offer Student prices to Home fans only.
  7. Not seen a thread on this but here we go. AFAIK these are the prices: Adults £20 Concessions (U-18s, Over 65s and Students) £10 Students can purchase a ticket from the ticket office on production of a valid matriculation card.
  8. I totally agree. I have been saying for ages that our prices are disgusting particularly the ones for kids but it seems to be replicated at grounds all over Scotland sadly. IMO there should be a cap at £20 for Adults and no more than a tenner for kids. Right now though fans are being priced out of a lot of games and going to Parkhead is one game I refuse to go to. Now that I've said that I bet we win! :015:
  9. Correct but the bigger difference is that Rory is already there.
  10. Disagree. Rory has generally been the one to come towards the end of games and not McSwegan which would suggest the opposite.
  11. Sandy - while our performances may have been mediocre surely even you can say that the position we find ourselves in deserves some form of praise?

    Black Back?

Same as Monday except can we please pass it around a bit more please? :003:
  13. Don't Aberdeen have the best Away support outside the Old Firm? Self proclaimed of course but probably true. Also, do Aberdeen not also charge OF teams more when visiting Pittodrie? I know we have now gone down that route.
  14. Surely the time is right for Murray to tell the fans that a former favourite "wants to sign for them when his contract is up" at his current club?
  15. Supposedly a demonstration outside the ground by some of the Old Filth fans of the blue persuasion :015:
  16. I know there is one already from last night but let's all take a moment to laugh out loud (or lol as you youngsters like to say) at Rangers Football club and Paul Le Guen :015: :015: :015: And a big well done to Saint Johnstone and Savo Milne :001:

    Whats going on??

I honestly don't think they would have scored anymore than Bayne and Dargo to be fair. Anyway, given that our current style of play is long ball playing Dargo and Wyness is a bit daft. However, as we saw against Falkirk if we pass it around a bit more to mix it up with the occasional good ball into the box then Wyness becomes a lot more effective.
  18. I can only assume you have some kind of vendetta against Bayne as you seem completely incapable of giving the guy praise.

    Whats going on??

*coughs* We did that in the 2nd half and look what happened. Well done Graham Bayne :003:
  20. Agreed but I thought last night he was chasing and harrasing the Dons defence as they tried to play it along the back. He was getting right stuck into tackles and covering across midfield trying to break up Aberdeens moves forward. I thought he did it well and was much more like the Dargo of last season. Bear in mind under Brewster we were really fit and maybe that was part of Brewsters tactics - to press and unsettle. Maybe CC doesn't like the forwards to press as much - I don't know.
  21. McKimmie is a bit of a sack though really isn't he? The EE is hilariously biased even for a local paper. I personally think that Aberdeen fighting for top 6 is a joke as I have NEVER been impressed with Aberdeen over the past 2 and a half years.

    Black Back?

Normally I would say yes but Duncan did a good job last night. He wasn't great but he broke up the attacks and played the ball well. He did what he had to do and because of that there is no reason why he should be dropped. I disagree with Rankin supposedly having his best game though. I thought he was pretty annonymous for large parts of the game.

Pfft! Hardly! :006: Doing a RiG is turning up 40 minutes late :015: Big Rig it! :011:
  24. I thought that we played really well in the 2nd half and think we deserved to win. As pointed out above stand outs were Bayne, McBain, Dargo, Munro, Hastings and Wilson who was MOTM by a country mile. Hastings was solid throughout the game but his one little lapse cost us 3 points when he stood off hart just a bit too much which proves just how cruel football is. Munro was fantastic in defence clearing the ball from the foot off an Aberdeen player on a couple of occasions. McBain was really good as well but seems to have the freedom of the pitch and hardly ever seemed to turn up on the left wing where I thought he was meant to be, Dargo harried the Aberdeen defenders and did exactly what we should have been doing by closing people down and not standing off them. Bayne won so many headers and held the ball up well. Wilson - what can I say!? I thought that was a vintage performance from the guy. He was everywhere, absolutely everywhere. Going back to McBain being posted missing on the left it was Wilson who appeared there to provide an outlet for the attack and he was equally effective on the right. He helped out the defence and was always available to get attacks going by offering himself for the defence to find him after an Aberdeen attack was repelled. He was simply outstanding.
