  1. that interview is great... avoid relegation then aim for 3rd place next season - that's the confidence! He would raise the profile of Inverness but I don't think he is the man to get us out of our Brewhole.
  2. P&J has Malpas sniffing about. Another duff candidate...
  3. Brewster - note to self for next managerial job if one ever comes along... "After great win in first game of season, don't **** off the entire team after the second game"
  4. nope I believe it was alleged racist comments, I also think he was cleared in court either way total duff candidate...
  5. We need experience to get us out of the mess we are in... not sure a Bazza / Robbo combo would be our best option. Would think Bazza would need a far more experienced assistant.
  6. My post wasn't supposed to be anti Butcher, it was just to highlight that he had a poor record at Sydney (given their size and expectation) but that record wasn't all down to him - there was boardroom issues, their best players left before he joined and his squad suffered horrendous injuries. There was also a very public media campaign, by very clueless pundits over here, against his tactics as he played the "English" style as opposed to the "Continental" style Littbarski had them playing before him. These tactics were pretty much forced on him due to circumstance (see above) - hard to play a nice flowing passing game if your team is of poor quality.
  7. Sydney Stats: P 29 W 13 D 9 L 7 F 41 A 26 Info on background - nicked from wiki: The second season of the Hyundai A-league ("dubbed Version 2.0") was ultimately an unsuccessful and disappointing season for the defending champions. The club's administration had spent far more than it had earnt over the course of the past two years, and subsequent budget cutbacks included the sale of marquee forward Dwight Yorke, a significantly reduced advertising campaign, and the loss of German coach Pierre Littbarski (replaced by Butcher). The team's displays on the field were widely reported by Australian sports media to have ranged from showing glimpses of strong form to marked disappointment, and no real challenge for the premiership was mounted. The off-field administration of the club came under equally heavy criticism. There were disruptions and disagreements within the club's controlling board, and disruptions in the dressing room involving several senior players and coach Terry Butcher. Amongst many other unfortunate events, the club was fined AU$129,000 and three competition points for an alleged salary cap breach involving David Zdrillic. The Sydney FC squad also suffered through remarkably bad fortune with regards to injuries; at one point, only thirteen players were fit & available on the team sheet, including regular second-choice keeper Justin Pasfield. All of this amounted to disappointing attendances, ugly displays of football from what were previously regarded as a good team to watch and relatively poor performances.
  8. Glen Roeder = another manager who cannot manage. He seems to get clubs out of relegation strife year 1 then relegate them year 2. You are well shot of him. As for us - it feels like it's too late I'm afraid, but you are right bin Brew and see what happens as with him we are sunk!
  9. He cannot play as a lone striker. He may or may not be good enough, but with Brew's tactics we will never know as he is being played in a system he does not have the game to thrive in. I would stick with him, bin Brew and get him a decent strike partner. I also agree that currently I would start Rooney every time ahead of him.
  10. Colin Calderwood would be my choice at the moment. He is available and has decent experience and is looking to rebuild his career. He also has some tactical knowledge and ability to manage which our current incumbent doesn't. There are many decent managers who we could attract. I don't subscribe to the "we won't get anyone better" camp as to be honest at the moment anyone who has a managerial track record of winning a few games will be better than our current incumbent. Brew as a football manager makes Steve McClaren look like competant. He has failed at DUFC and he has failed at ICT. Don't get me started on the board - we should never have let the situation get as bad as it has. We have 13 days of the transfer window left, we have given money to a tactically naive manager who has alreday lost the dressing room (despite what Munro and Imrie have been paraded out to say) andf expected that he would turn it round. Unfortunately life isn't as easty as that. The board need to act now and remove this cancer from our club, we may just then survive in the SPL... what I know is that every passing game our survival chances look slimmer and slimmer. ACT decisively and ACT NOW! Remove BREW.

    Brewster Poll

One word sums up Brew?s position: untenable One word sums up the board?s inaction to date: incompetent He needed to be removed long before now!
  12. Lets hope the feel good from last week continues and we get something from this crutial game. Arguably we have the hardest run of games out of all the strugglers in the next 4 weeks so we need to get 3 points in the bag today... Good luck lads.
  13. Thought I had Queens Park to win last time out...
  14. Indeed holding onto Vigurs is now critical given Black and probably Cowie are offski
  15. Always thought he was pants, but not as pants as Lionel so, I never thought I would say this, but signing Byrne does in fact improve our squad. Stinks of jobs for the boys again though, same with this Dinning lad... That said hope they both prove me wrong.
  16. Rory away No great loss, Lionel was pants and bar 1 game, Rory hasn't shown he can cut it at SPL level.
  17. If rumours are correct and he had a fight with Brew - he's off I'm afraid...
  18. I have a bad feeling that we will see him unveiled this week as the answer to all our scoring problems and the experienced striker we have been looking for

    Morais

Comments by Brew in the NOTW: Inverness boss Brewster admitted: ?It was a big day for us, but we scored three, got a clean sheet and we?re into the next round.? ?Felipe hadn?t even trained with us after coming north on Friday, but I just felt his pace and enthusiasm could hurt Partick. I?ve seen him play a couple of times and he was superb today.? Just wait until Brew starts training him, that'll put an end of his good play
  20. I think from his ommission today it is clear he will be off in January - shame as he is our best midfielder by a mile and we will need him if we are to survive.
  21. Given our defence this season has set up goals for or directly passed to the opposition when they should have booted it into the stand I'm happy for him to be no nonsence "if in doubt boot it out!"
  22. mmm how I wish I could live life with rose tinted spectacles? We have just won 1 game against lesser opposition. Perhaps this was a brilliant tactical move playing a winger as a second striker and by all accounts a clown at left back, or perhaps he got lucky (we were due a bit of luck). Either way next weeks game will tell us more about our new signings. I hope this is the ICT having ?turned the corner? but I will reserve judgement until after we have played some SPL matches. I am still of the view that Brew should already have gone and if we do not beat Hamilton we will go down. I will be very happy if this is not the case and Brew keeps us up.
  23. Graeme Bennett, the club's director of football, said: "Although Pavels has signed, we were unfortunately unaware there is a four hour time difference with Latvia." It was only 2 hours the last time I was in Riga... if you are going to make excuses at least make them factual! That said I hope the geezer is good as we are desperate for someone to sort out our defence.
  24. Biggest thing will be whether Cowie or Black plays as that will give an indication of how likely we are to part with them in January. If they play they are cup tied and thus their value to any potential SPL suitor is less. Looks like the game will come too soon for Madduks but I would be keen to start with the same team that are going to face Hamilton as we have not played the same team and formation in 2 matches in a row this season and I believe that is fueling our inconsistency
