  1. Was curious as I could not recall who was out goalkeeping coach so just checked the official site - Stuart Garden - he certainly has some work to do by all accounts.... According to the official site we have 3 first team goalkeepers: 1 Michael Fraser 23 Ryan Esson 29 Andy McNulty (on loan to Elgin City) - I assume he can be recalled on short notice if we have a sudden keeper issue?
  2. Only consolation is that 2 wins on the bounce and then you are back in the mix especially this season as it is so tight - but we have to start winning quickly or face the consequences....
  3. Wouldn't be my choice....but there aren't a lot of strong candidates out there if CB did decide to stand down.... :thumb04: No truth in the rumour then that CC has already been asked whether he would step in on a temporary basis?
  4. WL - Out of curiosity how do you read these posts....????
  5. Get to the League Cup Final as a minimum.... DOH
  6. That will be the reason why the lifeboats were never installed then....

  8. David Johnson - used to play for Ipswich Town and quite a few clubs after that.... David Johnson to play for Scotland - 1999 Another one of those Jack Charlton stories courtesy of MW Irish Radio: Another story from Andy Townsend (born in Maidstone Kent by the way) about Jack Charlton, told of the time they were to play Italy in New York during the World Cup USA. The team were told that as it was New York and soccer, that 70% of the stadium would be full of Italians and the remaining 25% would be Irish. As the Irish team coach made its way to the stadium they were passed by dozens of coaches full of Irish Supporters with only the ocassional Italian coach. The Irish management revised their figures and they now expected the crowd to be 50-50. When the players went out into the arena to soak up the atmospere and feel the pitch they were met with the sight of a mass blanket of green, white and gold. Jack Charlton turned to Tony Cascarino the Irish striker and said to him, "Christ! Tony you're the only Italian in this place."...
  9. They'll be looking for a new slot to fill on a Friday night for the next 12 weeks then....

  11. With Maradona's first competitive game against Scotland coming up it brings back distant memories as I was there the night he scored his first competitive goal for Argentina. The Scotland v Argentina game in 1979 was in fact the first Scotland game I went to and I remember sitting in the front row of the old main stand - compared to Kingsmills Park it seemed enormous The Scotland team on that night was: Rough (Wood, 46) Burley Munro Narey Hegarty Hansen McGarvey Wark Dalglish ? Hartford (Gray F, 70) Graham Manager: Jock Stein Crowd: 61,918 Scotland 1 Argentina 3 Interestingly our record against Argentina is W1 D1 L1 Source: BBC Sport Diego Maradona plans to visit England this weekend to meet Argentine players before his likely debut as coach in next month's friendly against Scotland. The 48-year-old will fly in to see Manchester United's Carlos Tevez and Liverpool's Javier Mascherano who could play against Hull and Spurs. Maradona's appointment is expected to be confirmed by the Argentina Football Association on Tuesday. The team is due to play Scotland at Hampden Park on 19 November. "I will travel to England on Saturday to see Tevez and Mascherano," the 48-year-old said. "And in Scotland I will make my debut." "We are going to play the game against Scotland with the best team we've got," he added. "I really never expected this although I always dreamed of having the chance." Maradona, who has had two brief spells as a club coach in Argentina, scored his first goal for Argentina in their 3-1 friendly win over Scotland at Hampden in 1979. It's changed a bit:
  12. A long time coming but well done to the club....next item on the agenda....
  13. Silly comments from two overpaid celebs but woah has this been blown out of all proportion - you know it is bad when MPs are using this to deflect attention from how bad they are at their real jobs (the one's they are paid to do....alledgedly) Its also turned into a covert PR stunt - some big sums now being banded around for the usual newspaper stories from those offended - I wonder if they will be donating those fees to charity.... Also appears Miss Baillie's career has suddenly been fast-tracked....I guess if you play with fire you can expect to get burnt....but sleeping with Russel Brand what was she thinking of and then admitting it is true....

  24. "Chunky" Hamilton left in 1991 to become Head of PE at the International School in Brussels. As a result, instead of away games at Millburn, IHS or if you were lucky Gordonstoun or The Abbey, his very quickly became Switzerland, Germany, Holland etc etc. He has just retired and will be staying in Belgium. He was back over a few months ago and I had a good reunion with him. "The other one... with the big mop" was probably Gerry Finnegan but since I'm not sure exactly how old you are, it might just have been George Gray. Gerry left many years ago to become Principal Teacher of PE soemwhere down south. Thanks Charles - Gerry Finnegan is yer man....both Highland RFC men if I remember correctly.... :thumb04: PS - Scotty you've not changed much.... Who's the lad with the excessive hair - looks kindae familiar?
