merged: Burley is sacked....Official!
Actually, there are half a dozen previous Scottish Managers with a higher win percentage than Brown! I didnt go back through them all, but of the "modern era" from the 70s onwards, only McLeish, Ormond and Docherty have a better record than Craig Brown. Burley 3 wins from 14 = 21.43% Worse even than Berti Vogts !!! (failed to qualify for WC 2010). We are currently at 45 in world rankings, having dropped 16 places last month alone. With new numbers due out in 4 days time that include a loss to 78th ranked Wales we are likely to drop a lot lower. I wonder if we can stay above Canada who have climbed from 94th in March to 53rd last month !!! McLeish 7/10 = 70.00% (narrowly failed to qualify for Euro 2008 but his (and Smith's) results lifted Scotland to 13 in world rankings) Smith 7/16 = 43.75% (won Kirin Cup, narrowly failed to qualify for WC 2006) Burns 0/1 = 0.00% Vogts 8/31 = 25.81% (failed to qualify for Euro 2004, managed to take Scotland to record low FIFA ranking of 88) Brown 32/70 = 45.71% (qualified for Euro 1996 and WC 1998, failed to qualify for Euro 2000 after losing playoff to England, failed to qualify for WC 2002) Roxburgh 23/62 = 37.10% (qualified for WC 1990 & Euro 1992 [1st ever time qualified], failed to qualify for WC 1994) Ferguson 3/10 = 30.00% Stein 26/61 = 42.62% (failed to qualify for Euro 1980, qualified for WC 1982 & 1986) MacLeod 7/17 = 41.18% (qualified for WC 1978) Ormond 18/38 = 47.37% (qualified for WC 1974) Docherty 7/12 = 58.33% you can go right back i think and brown will still stick out as having the best record. of mcleish , ormand and docherty, none of them could compare with regard to games played but have decent records too nonetheless.

Are you kidding? it was under his leadership that the rot set in. he was playing guys like tom boyd, who werent even getting games for their clubs! Vogts came in and did what needed to be done....ie, bring in fresh young blood and set it up for the future! he was picking the best players we had, no nonsense and played to our strengths and it made him the most successfull manager we've ever had

i think the most gutsy and best decision would be to bring back craig brown

Interesting...
OK you've convinced me. Let's relish this 2-0 victory over the mighty Airdrie United and remember it for years to come. Next week we're bound to beat lowly Melville's Millions XI FC at least 4-0 in front of thousands of ICT fans at McDiarmid Park. I hear that the SFA engraver is already putting our name on the Alba Cup and Division 1 trophy. what exactly were you expecting from yesterdays game?5 or 6 nil, tearing them apart with our total football ?its going to be a long season then. from what i've seen at home for a long time now i'll take a 2.0 any day. i'm not trying to convince you or anyone else of anything and dont think i said i'll relish or remember that win for years to come either .i'll have my fair share of moans on here at times but wont usually go over the top with criticism after a victory.

Interesting...
it fairly obvious that many of the whining gits on here dont actually attend many of our games. yesterdays performance whilst not exactly brilliant it was massively improved on some of the crap we seen last season and early this season at home. for some to describe that as our worst of the season, a 2.0 win with plenty chances created, is cringeworthy. some of you's either have short memories, only judge individuals on what they read or are just clueless.

Our next six league games
theres a lot of 6 pointers there. think we need 12 to 14 points if we're serious about a title chance.we'll know whether its on or not after these games anyway if we dont already

Cup Final Team
ok but can they do a better job.just dont think its always wise to chop and change unless you've quality replacements and sometimes it pays to have a settled team. proctor could hold his own at right back but is doing well in midfield, never seen cox at right back so couldnt comment but would be scared to see stratford or duncan start there

Cup Final Team
thats fine if we were chelsea but who replaces bulvitus? or tokely since he's been mince in about 3 or 4 games this season.sometimes you have to judge on more than one game

What happend between them two? Rossco was involved in a heavy collision and looked to have done severe damage to his arm/wrist. Physio was trying to get a look at it, but every time she touched it Rossco was pulling away in pain....have to say that there's only so many times I'd let someone grab a suspected break before telling them to do one, so don't think he was out of order at all, and you can be sure that if any apology is necessary then it will have already been given. Even if the person trying to look at the damaged wrist or whatever, is a person trained to deal with these kind of injuries? I do believe she had his best interests at heart, CD. He's gone way, way down in my estimation as a player, and as a person, for an outburst of just about the most childish behaviour I've ever seen. if he'd done that to a nurse in a hospital nowadays he'd be locked up so would say an apology is definately in order- Brainteazer
think i remember that too :001:- Cup Final Team
What decent shift was this? I must have missed that today. Dont think rooney did alot today only thing what i remember is his overhead kick attempt just thought he put in some good crosses that should've been buried and generally worked hard and looked interested and got himself into a few decent positions. not saying that was him at his very best today just putting in a decent shift on par with numerous others in the team except he's scored 5 in last 4 games and it would be a tad harsh to drop him for eric at this time :001:- Cup Final Team
What decent shift was this? I must have missed that today. indeed.- ICT -V- Airdrie Utd : matchday thread
that was all home fans though bar about 50 airdrie fans at most- Cup Final Team
aye but dropping rooney after another decent shift and 5 goals in last 4 games is a bit harsh. erics a good option from the bench- Cup Final Team
only change i'd make is hayes for imrie, dougie was poor again today . rooney played well and whilst eric took his goal well i dont think he deserves a start yet.- Team for Airdrie United
esson tokely munro bulvitus golly foran duncan sanchez proctor hayes rooney- Butcher's aftermatch comments in the NOTW
i have a feeling bulvitus probably isn't one of the players anyway but next weeks team might speak volumes. at this rate though we could get rid of butcher and just select the team via tombola. on the face of it butcher couldn't change a winning team that had scored 9 in 2 but if he was astute and learned from the first tink game he would have- Ross County -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
in fairness i thought the sauce bottle could have done us a good job at centre half if it had just made it to nearer the 18 yard box- Ross County -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
You'd be surprised. How would you feel if you went to renew your season ticket and the club told you that you cant have it as someone else wants to sit there because they think that they can generate more noise than you.Be it true or not. Going back to school days, people wanted to sit at the back of the bus not because they were tough but because they wanted to associated with being tough. Back to section G, I think that there are too many people there that want to be associated with that section and add to the surrounding noise if and when they feel like it, as opposed to starting the noise. Ideally I would like all noisy non season ticket holders from section G to pick a central spot in the main stand at the Airdrie game and make loads of noise,a change of scenery and its only for 1 game, just to encourage the silent 2000 to make some noise. The above is veering away from the county match, County did have their backs to the sun for both goals is that a feeble excuse, we lost, now its time to prepare for Airdrie. its not so hard to sort out unallocated seating in one of the section behind the goals without booting out the season ticket holders, there's still plenty empty space! pick a section block the seats off for sale pre match and leave it as a singing section.existing season ticket holders can stay where they are and if they haven't got their names on seats they could easily be marked as season ticket seats- Where did it all go wrong
when a certain shareholder started putting himself and his ego before the good of the club.- Ross County -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
back in now.thoroughly hacked off.county owned us in the first half mainly down to their midfield over running ours. second half we improved and on another day could have sneaked a draw but wouldn't have deserved it. hayes did do well when he came on but we struggled to get in behind them again.they seemed to try to hang on to their lead second half and we didnt have enough to break them down. not an enjoyable day out after all B)- Roll call for county...
me + 5 for mallard then behind goals- Adam Rooney
