LETS ALL LAUGH AT COUNTY
not going to laugh at County .... money is tight for all clubs and lets face it, if we had to have something like that in place to meet the 6000 seated criteria we would do so in a heartbeat ! Besides ... County being in the SPL really pisses off my new figure of ridicule ... Mr Kenneth Shiels and that, for now is much more fun !

season ticket means you pre-pay for your ticket to all league games, usually at a discount, and also normally gives you first refusal on your defined seat for cup games. for all-ticket league games (Celtic, Rangers [in the past], and maybe one or two others) you also get an earlier chance to purchase extras over and above the seat you already have. see here: http://ictfc.com/matches/tickets/ticket-prices

Kenny Shiels bumping his gums..
forgot to add my other comment ..... Wont 4 or 5 other teams also be affected in exactly the same manner ??? and club 12 - whether Dundee or Dunfermline will have to travel further to Kilmarnock than Rangers would !!!! This guy has absolute #s***forbrains !

Kenny Shiels bumping his gums..
Bumping his gums now about the Rangers situation ........ http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/4394460/Gers-crisis-will-wind-up-costing-this-team-1m.html "Kilmarnock will suffer the most for Rangers not being in the league. We will only have one guaranteed Old Firm gate next season as we were down to play Rangers twice at home...... " “We are different in that we carry debt. Other clubs of a similar size like St Johnstone and St Mirren don’t carry debt, so this will have a bigger impact on us." So it is St Johnstone and St Mirren's fault that you cant manage your own finances ??? Jealousy much ?

PLAYER SPONSORSHIP: 2012-13 Season
Player we are sponsoring - To be decided It has usually been the same as previous years if the player has not left the club so the aim will be to raise enough to cover both Shane's home top and Gavin's training top unless of course people want to change that. Other sponsorships will depend on the level of "membership" the "Player Sponsor" group reaches. The cost to sponsor a player is as follows: Home Shirt - £375 +vat (£75) = £450 Away Shirt - £275 +vat (£55) = £330 Training Top - £125 +vat (£25) = £150 Boots - £125 +vat (£25) = £150 Gloves - £125 +vat (£25) = £150 To take part in this sponsorship you will need to upgrade your site membership and join the "Player Sponsor" group. We in turn will use the money received from these memberships (minus paypal fees) to purchase player sponsorships from the club. The cost to join this group is £11.00 (this amounts to £10.00 joining fee plus £1 to cover the aforementioned paypal fees). You may if you wish purchase multiple memberships, just amend the total in your shopping cart and add a note when placing the order if it is to cover family members who may not officially be site members !!! To join the group simply go to this page http://caleythistleonline.com/store/ or access the CTO Store from the main menu at the top. All our site membership upgrades are handled securely via Paypal which will accept direct payment from the majority of credit/debit cards so it should be easy enough to upgrade your membership whether you live in Sneck or somewhere thousands of miles from there. As with previous years, we hope to have a couple of options in place for those who may be joining manually at the pub or when speaking to a mod or admin in person ... more details to follow once we work it out !!! If you are joining manually you can ignore the extra £1 fee. Once we know how many members have joined the group, we will make a decision on what gets sponsored. The first item will be the selected player's Home Kit ... but the more members who upgrade to "Player Sponsor" membership, the more we can sponsor. At the end of the season, members of our sponsor group will be selected at random to receive any gifts we may receive from the club ...... If you are interested, please add your name to this thread or go ahead and join the sponsor group. You will be marked as once we confirm payment received via membership upgrade or more traditional means .... IMPORTANT: The way this was originally setup, it created a 'subscription' in Paypal. Our system would automatically re-bill you in a year's time. This was an error on my part as we know the members change from year to year. Those who already paid need do nothing, I will cancel the renewal portion of the transaction from my end (not the actual transaction) so if you see a wee note that subscription is cancelled its nothing to worry about ... just means you wont automatically get dinged for another tenner next year and will have to actively choose to re-subscribe ! If you paid after the date of this edit then it should not show a subscription just a payment.

Fund-Raising Ideas
The more it is suggested, the more the share idea seems a good one ..... To the best of my knowledge, there are plenty of unissued shares available (or is that issued but unsold - sorry not my strong point). If the Trust could organise something like this - and perhaps held the shares on behalf of the fans - it would be an avenue where all fans could help regardless of location, financial means, or other potential pitfalls that emerge whenever a cash raising venture is born. After that, any other fundraising efforts like player sponsorships, buying merchandise, buying a brick, or whatever top notch notions are likely to appear in here would be the icing on what would hopefully be a pretty good cake base !!!!!
-
Dear Mr Cameron,
I have started a separate topic here: Please stick fund-raising ideas in there and if necessary we will split any that need in-depth discussion into multiple threads or their own sub-forum.
-
Fund-Raising Ideas
As per the comments in the Dear Mr Cameron thread, lets use this thread to discuss ideas that either we as fans, other fan bodies such as the Supporters Trust or Supporters Club, or ICT themselves could establish to try and lessen the financial sting of the likely NO vote to the Rangers Newco that we and other teams' fans have requested their respective clubs to make. Our normal "player sponsor" group subscription will continue as normal, and we will get that thread up and running shortly. But any other ideas should be noted in here. If necessary, and if there is enough traction then we can also make it a separate sub-forum with multiple threads if we need to discuss individual ideas in depth.

Dear Mr Cameron,
I have been messaged by a couple of folk on here and one suggestion mooted was that some of us who are overseas or otherwise not at the TCS on a regular basis could possibly club together and buy 'some' season tickets (quantity obviously depends on level of interest and how much was pledged). These tickets could then then be used by others (perhaps on payment of a portion of the equivalent match fee directly to ICT (?)) or maybe given out for charity or something like that ..... Like the person who suggested it to me I havent thought through the specifics yet, but we will be happy to try and drive any fundraising ideas, or to publicise and push those ideas towards the Supporters Trust if the management of them is more appropriate that way. If the site members feel it is warranted, perhaps - in this new spirit of unity - we might want a small sub-forum for fundraising ideas and such like ? Definitely a thread of its own though rather than getting lost in here ! Of course, for our own part, CTO will now go ahead and try to get names of site members who want to re-subscribe to or rejoin our player sponsor group so we can also contribute to the club this way and we will likely make our own contribution on top of that. If ever there was a time for all of us to dip into our pockets and help the club that time is now. We can all do our part, no matter how large or small that assistance is.

Are Scottish footballers too greedy
I dont know the numbers for what he was offered or what he wanted - and in some ways I dont really want to as that is private - but I do not believe RT was 'greedy'. If he was a greedy player he would not have spent 16 years at one club.

Are Scottish footballers too greedy
I am in two minds about this ...... One the one hand, it is a short career and players must seek to maximise their earnings while they can. That is human nature, and we all do it although those of us who are not professional athletes may have a bit longer to amass those earnings !!! Not every ex-player will find a job coaching, managing, commentating or doing something else within the game when they are done so I have no problem with them seeking what might be regarded as a higher wage compared to 'joe public' before they themselves become 'joe public'. However, like a lot of other leagues, I think many players do actually look to England and see the ridiculous wages being paid there in the Premiership, the Championship or even the leagues below that and think they should be getting more ... and therefore ask for it. Sometimes it may be deserved, but equally sometimes they may be asking for silly money. It also doesnt help that there is such a wide gulf between Celtic, Rangers (oldco), and the rest of the teams in terms of (previous) wage levels as players can look to them too and see that as a yardstick. (PS - lets not get into the whole EBT or Rangers stuff - there are multiple threads for that). I may be going insane, but I think this is one area where Vladimir Romanov actually made sense in his statement yesterday. I dont hold with the whole "Murdoch as the devil" picture he painted, but he is telling the truth when he highlights the pots of money poured into English football by SKY compared to the loose change thrown at the SPL as if it were a beggar on the street corner .... I cant help wondering if part of the new financial regulations within Scottish football should include a salary cap like MLS ? I was no big fan of the cap when I started watching TFC in 2007 but with each passing year it seems to make more sense .... The league has a minimum salary and a maximum 'normal' salary and your total wage bill must come in under the cap amount. You can 'overpay' a maximum of three players (designated players) and in that case each one is only charged to your cap at the maximum salary as per the agreement, not their actual salary which might break the cap. The coaches then decide whether they want a few high earners and top up the squad with younger players on lower salaries or whether they keep salaries somewhere in the middle and get a team of 'decent' players .. but they cannot go over. In MLS it also helps to foster youth development as younger players earn less, and there are salary cap incentives for signing younger 'star' players who are signed as DPs compared to signing say a Beckham, Frings or Henry where the older players are charged to your salary cap at the maximum amount but a younger 'star' costs maybe half that...... Transfers are classed as 'extra' money for a team (called 'allocation dollars' over here) and although a bit complicated, the rules dictate that some of it can be used to pay money over the cap amount to players but a significant proportion (50% or more I think) has to be used for infrastructure improvements or youth development. Winning the league, the cup, or qualifying for the (concacaf) Champions League also brings in extra allocation allowances so a succesful club can get a bit of leeway to spend more. Allocation money does however 'expire' after a year or two so its not something a team can look at as a permanent increase in their cap level ..... As complicated as it sounds, it seems to work well for MLS and does level the playing field a bit more for smaller teams in the league who can end up being quite succesfull .......

A cause close to my heart
Although not strictly "ICT" subject matter, and the OP posted it in the correct forum for non-ict and non-football topics, I have "used my admin powers for good" and pinned and moved it from there into ICT as that is the forum that gets the most views and hopefully more people will read it and sponsor Julie. If anyone wants to complain about that action ... please contact me by PM and not in the thread !!!

Toronto FC - Canadian Champs
Miguel Aceval, Luis Silva and Nick Soolsma might be available !!! These were the three who were sent home from Houston after being arrested ... no word on any internal club punishment yet ! TFC played Houston last night and it was actually entertaining to watch. Because of the three players getting sent home only 4 on the bench for Toronto last night so not too many options ... Houston were league runners up last year and are always in and around the silverware come the end of the season. They had not lost a game at their new stadium this season and were shell-shocked when TFC went in with a 1-3 lead at half-time despite a couple of players playing out of position and an already shaky defence having to make do with a youngster (but a good one) and a right back as centre halfs ..... Heat, humidity and slackness meant Houston were able to come back in the second half and tie it up 3-3 right at the death, but getting a point away in Houston with a 15 man squad is actually progress !!!!!

Toronto FC - Canadian Champs
yup .... you think ICT were bad in 2012 ..... its painful to watch TFC this year .... but still Canadian Champs However, where MLS is concerned its more like chumps ! Just to add to your summary, you forgot the fact that Aron Winter was sacked as headcoach a couple of weeks ago - well, officially offered a job 'upstairs' but declined - and has now been replaced by Paul Mariner who was Director of player development until then. His first game was Saturday against Kansas who are a good side. no superstars, but work very hard and for each other and do it for 90 minutes in every game .... then the team headed for Houston where they play tomorrow night and as you mentioned, 3 players - A Dutchman, A Chilean and an American were all arrested at 2:45AM outside a bar. TFC official statement was ridiculously short --- "We are aware of the charges filed against Miguel Aceval, Luis Silva and Nick Soolsma in Houston earlier today. The players are presently with the team and we continue to investigate this matter. As such, the team will not provide any further comment at this time." So Houston tomorrow ... then its a home game against Mariner's former club New England on Saturday ..... then away to Montreal in midweek and capped off by a home game against New York the following weekend. I get the feeling its going to be a long two weeks !

Dear Mr Cameron,
I find it ironic that the potential "saviours" of Rangers over the last year have been messrs 'Green and Whyte' .... definitely agree they should be made to jump through 'hoops'. sorry could not resist it.

CTO members player sponsorship
it is the intention, yes. I am currently still sorting out last year's draw and who will get the goodies that are being held for us (details to follow when we schedule it and get it done) and when thats over with we will look to this year's list. I also understand that some people's participation in this may be dependent on how ICT vote in the Rangers saga so likely a week or two before we post it looking for names.
