  1. I mentioned it before, but Toronto FC base their prices on the part of the ground you sit in .... The half-way line is most expensive, and not surprisingly it is more expensive on the main stand side than the one opposite ... the further round you go the cheaper it gets ... There are no concessions, no senior discounts or anything like that. If you want a cheaper ticket, you choose the part of the ground you want to be in accordingly. However, i think that overall it works, and because there is a lack of overhead in having various types of ticket it means the club can offer very deep discounts for the purchase of season tickets .... for example, my ticket (in the supporters section a.k.a. the cheap seats) costs the equivalent of $19 per game .... and the face value of the ticket can be anything from $27 - $41 depending on the opposition I think most sports on this side of the pond follow a somewhat similar model (although I am sure there are some exceptions).
  2. or maybe its a reflection on how much they raised merchandise prices now they are SPL bound

  5. I know .... just dont like the idea of thinking Aberdire are our saviours Defending a 0-0 is never a good idea ... for one, I am not sure we can do it, and if nothing else it gets pretty frustrating for fans to watch ..... attack is the best form of defence has always been my mantra
  6. Rangers giving Dundee Utd a doing !!! 4-0 now
  7. no need for Aberdire to save us IHE ..... 1 point today means we would be on 33 with 2 to play and Pars would be on 25 with 2 to play .... 31 max for them if it stays this way ..... but 0-0 always makes me twitchy and we have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory or a draw before !!!! Could make for an interesting last 2 games if it stays this way though .... Hibs play Dunfermline on Saturday which could be a relegation decider (1pt for Hibs and Pars would be down), then Hibs come to us on the final week ..... while Pars entertain Killie.....
  8. Sometimes ... depends on whether don is able to do them, or if not, whether I can do them from radio commentary. Not sure how Don is fixed tonight, but this is middle of my afternoon at work so nothing doing from me ..... although from Twitter page I do note Rangers now 2-0 up on Dundee Utd and Hibs 2 up on the Dons ! Fair enough, good to hear from a fans point of view as the radio commentary can be pretty poor, especially when Brian Irvine is involved. Scotty... how do you access the commentary from abroad? I was paying for a UK VPN before, but would prefer a free option if there was one. I pay for a UK VPN connection. very reliable, very good and very stable. I believe Scarlet Pimple did mention a free one called ExPAt Shield: http://expatshield.com/products/ but not sure if its any good as I havent used it .....

I would add a #4 to the list above and like it or not that is the economy ! Yngwie kind of touched on it in his point 2, but with entry prices on the steep side and many folk suffering due to the recession(s) then its only natural that combined with some of the valid reasons raised, some people choose not to use their dwindling disposable income to go watch a football match in a league that has stumbled from one crisis to another over the last few years .... There is no single reason for the decline, every point raised plays a part, and the ratio of how much it plays will vary from team to team ....... I hope that the supporters charter being talked about right now can embrace all of these concerns so that Scottish football can hopefully turn a corner and start recovering .... the alternative doesnt bear thinking about !
  13. dont feed the troll.
  14. dont think it was produced by SPL though was it? I know Ian Broadfoot used to supply something like it to journalists and such like before each game that had interesting facts/stats and milestones that were near to or being reached on the day... and he also produced a more comprehensive 'book' that he issued at the start of the season detailing the previous season/records etc and as he has retired, it would make sense that it "stopped" as no-one else is doing it proactively ... other than ourselves adding stuff to our own stats which are reproduced on the official site .... I can understand if things like 'shots on goal' or 'assists' are maybe a little off when you compare sites, but to have something as basic as yellow/red cards to be different on every single site, it is worrying .... just hope the club have the definitive list ... we dont want to play a suspended player just because the public stats spewed out by the SPL are wrong and they missed one !!!
  15. and therein lies the problem .......... and a perfect example of what I was talking about yesterday .... our figures (entered after each game) The figures in the STV article The figures from ESPN The figures from SPL website ICT Yellows: SPL say 68 - we say 67, STV say 60, ESPN say 64 ICT Reds: SPL say 7 - we say 6, STV say 5, ESPN say 7 Wish the SPL did something like MLS before each game: 07-SaltLake-v-TFC-gameguide.pdf

its the same address ... but if you have a smartphone, you get the mobile skin loading instead of the standard one.

got a tweet about this on the weekend from one of the site users .... problem before was that we set the site to load the news page rather than the forums so you probably saw the next/last block first and everything else further down page? The mobile site doesnt cope very well with the news pages or custom HTML !! When I updated the software last week, i left the default page as forums so you now get a slicker page on forum loading and as most pageviews are in the forums, I figured it was easier for you lot. There will be specific new apps coming out from the forum creators (IPB) for both iPhone and Android, not sure about Blackberry .... and this should enhance it further. no date for those yet though
  19. ok guys - take it to PM if you want to keep winding each other up. not f***ing interested in reading that **** !
  20. Another point I wanted to make ...... I dont really trust the SPL figures !!!!! there have been a number of occasions this season where commentators have talked about players being booked, but nothing ever appears on the official record .... this weekend being a prime example. The commentators talked of Tokely and Tansey both receiving cards but not one single report reflects that ...... including the one on the SPL site. I have also looked on our own stats which I compile based on each game as it happens and instead of 68 yellows in the league, I only get 67. I also only get 6 reds not 7. Of course, it is possible that I made a mistake, especially in yellows, but the red I believe was the one issued to Greg Tansey and later rescinded but that still shows up in the SPL report ... and presumably the stats ....
  21. - posts that followed the above regarding discipline now split into their own topic - please keep this discussion on topic and refer to the other thread if wanting to debate our disciplinary record over the season !
  22. How many points do I get for trumping an Admin & a Mod? none as it makes little difference to the table .... we are second instead of 1st equal
  23. Using stats readily available on SPL website (red cards / yellow cards - club), we would be equal top in the disciplinary table with Hibs as far as I can tell. not an official table, but I threw it into excel and applied the standard formula, which I believe is 1 pt for a yellow and 3pts for a red edit: dont worry DC .... under the points totaling system, you have a mod and an admin agreeing with you and just an admin disagreeing ..... so thats 3pts for admin and 1 for mod .... you win 4-3 !!!!

Would I like to see him back in an ICT top ? Yes Will it happen ? Sadly, I think not.
  25. I can only echo what others have said. very sad.
