  1. dont feed the troll.
  2. dont think it was produced by SPL though was it? I know Ian Broadfoot used to supply something like it to journalists and such like before each game that had interesting facts/stats and milestones that were near to or being reached on the day... and he also produced a more comprehensive 'book' that he issued at the start of the season detailing the previous season/records etc and as he has retired, it would make sense that it "stopped" as no-one else is doing it proactively ... other than ourselves adding stuff to our own stats which are reproduced on the official site .... I can understand if things like 'shots on goal' or 'assists' are maybe a little off when you compare sites, but to have something as basic as yellow/red cards to be different on every single site, it is worrying .... just hope the club have the definitive list ... we dont want to play a suspended player just because the public stats spewed out by the SPL are wrong and they missed one !!!
  3. and therein lies the problem .......... and a perfect example of what I was talking about yesterday .... our figures (entered after each game) The figures in the STV article The figures from ESPN The figures from SPL website ICT Yellows: SPL say 68 - we say 67, STV say 60, ESPN say 64 ICT Reds: SPL say 7 - we say 6, STV say 5, ESPN say 7 Wish the SPL did something like MLS before each game: 07-SaltLake-v-TFC-gameguide.pdf
  4. its the same address ... but if you have a smartphone, you get the mobile skin loading instead of the standard one.
  5. You want impressive ... try this one ! and the creation of it ......
  6. got a tweet about this on the weekend from one of the site users .... problem before was that we set the site to load the news page rather than the forums so you probably saw the next/last block first and everything else further down page? The mobile site doesnt cope very well with the news pages or custom HTML !! When I updated the software last week, i left the default page as forums so you now get a slicker page on forum loading and as most pageviews are in the forums, I figured it was easier for you lot. There will be specific new apps coming out from the forum creators (IPB) for both iPhone and Android, not sure about Blackberry .... and this should enhance it further. no date for those yet though
  7. ok guys - take it to PM if you want to keep winding each other up. not f***ing interested in reading that **** !
  8. Another point I wanted to make ...... I dont really trust the SPL figures !!!!! there have been a number of occasions this season where commentators have talked about players being booked, but nothing ever appears on the official record .... this weekend being a prime example. The commentators talked of Tokely and Tansey both receiving cards but not one single report reflects that ...... including the one on the SPL site. I have also looked on our own stats which I compile based on each game as it happens and instead of 68 yellows in the league, I only get 67. I also only get 6 reds not 7. Of course, it is possible that I made a mistake, especially in yellows, but the red I believe was the one issued to Greg Tansey and later rescinded but that still shows up in the SPL report ... and presumably the stats ....
  9. - posts that followed the above regarding discipline now split into their own topic - please keep this discussion on topic and refer to the other thread if wanting to debate our disciplinary record over the season !
  10. How many points do I get for trumping an Admin & a Mod? none as it makes little difference to the table .... we are second instead of 1st equal
  11. Using stats readily available on SPL website (red cards / yellow cards - club), we would be equal top in the disciplinary table with Hibs as far as I can tell. not an official table, but I threw it into excel and applied the standard formula, which I believe is 1 pt for a yellow and 3pts for a red edit: dont worry DC .... under the points totaling system, you have a mod and an admin agreeing with you and just an admin disagreeing ..... so thats 3pts for admin and 1 for mod .... you win 4-3 !!!!
  12. Would I like to see him back in an ICT top ? Yes Will it happen ? Sadly, I think not.
  13. I can only echo what others have said. very sad.
  14. It was mentioned on the radio during commentary and now all the players are tweeting their best wishes ..... To quote @jonnyhayes7 : "Sorry to anyone that travelled today, can't believe i got sent off for them 2 fouls!!! Boys worked they're socks off didn't deserve to lose. More importantly Thoughts are with the caley fan who collapsed hopefully he'll be ok, more important things than football"
  15. OK, so some stuff missing from the official 'live stats' but mentioned on radio ... needed for confirmation 1. Tokely booked in the first few minutes ? yes/no ? 2. Tade came on for who ? 3. Tansey booked ?

  18. Perspective A football match was played out at Rugby Park on Saturday and although it was an entertaining game, it paled into insignificance in view of the sad incident where an Inverness fan collapsed and died in the Frank Beattie Stand midway through the second half, despite frantic efforts by a doctor and medical staff to revive him. Fans could not help but be drawn towards the incident occurring a few yards in front of them and the result of the game was far from those that unfortunately witnessed this tragedy. He was later named as Mr John McDonald, an Inverness fan from Milngavie and the thoughts and prayers of everyone are with his family and friends. Chris Hogg touched on the word perspective in his blog about his rehabilitation after injury, and this could not be more appropriate given the circumstances on this day. The result of the game was the last thing on the minds of the Inverness support and this haunting memory will stay with those at Rugby park forever. RIP John. The size of the crowd could be judged by the low turn out at the Hunting Lodge, three hardy souls had made the effort, but they were rewarded with a heartening display by the visitors and before half time we had pushed our noses in front. However, shooting ourselves in the foot has definitely become a popular sport in the Highlands, Inverness anyway, and we were the architects of our own downfall as Jonny Hayes saw red and Killie took full advantage of the extra man to win a thrilling game by the odd goal in seven. It was good to see that Billy McKay had found his shooting boots with a brace and Steve Williams slotted a late one, but Killie made good use of the extra man and eventually overcame the depleted Inverness men who battled hard for a point they would have deserved. Capital Caley attended the game and his thoughts are below to give you a flavour of how it all happened. The result on Saturday was completely insignificant after the death of a Caley Thistle fan amongst the away fans mid way through the second half. My thoughts are with his family. Caley Thistle should have won this game. They were on course to win until Jonny Hayes was shown a red card for his second reckless challenge of the match. It was Hayes who nearly opened the scoring for Caley Thistle after 5 minutes but his shot skimmed the outside of the post. Kilmarnock were the first to open the scoring after 14 minutes with a Danny Racchis shot on target leading to the goal. Esson saved and it fell to James Fowler who netted with ease. Now I’m no goalkeeping expert but I did feel at the time that Esson could have held it. Video footage may prove me wrong however! Killie seemed to be playing the better football during the first quarter and were making the Caley Thistle defence work hard. A James Dayton shot from the edge of the box went just wide on the 25th minute as Caley Thistle struggled to get into the match. However, just before the half hour mark, Billy McKay netted the equaliser for Caley Thistle. Hayes' cross found Greg Tansey who’s shot rebounded to Richie Foran who passed to McKay who then slotted home. Caley Thistle then had the momentum. Within 6 minutes McKay doubled the Caley Thistle lead with another Hayes cross finding him before heading the ball across the line. With 5 minutes before half time, Hayes picked up his first booking for a challenge on James Fowler. It may have seemed slightly harsh but many referees will give a booking for that now adays. Caley Thistle went into the break at half time with the 2-1 lead and all the momentum after a great second part of the first half. Half Time 1-2 From the start of the second half, after various opportunities we could still not improve on our lead. I must say that there were no sitters and fault cannot be attributed to any player regarding missed chances. It was more to do with being genuinely unlucky. Greg Tansey had the first chance of the second half but Cammy Bell saved well. About 10 minutes into the second half, Hayes nearly got Caley Thistles third goal but went agonisingly wide. A string of chances then followed and the wood work saved Kilmarnock again. Everything was going Caley Thistles way and it looked like it was going to be only a matter of time before we scored a third goal. Hayes was having a great game until his moment of madness in the 58th minute. His rash challenge on Ben Gordon left the referee no other option but to show Hayes his second yellow and then red. From there, everything fell apart. Kilmarnock seemed to take a huge confidence boost from the loss of Hayes and attacked the Caley Thistle goal. Dean Shiels crossed in a wonderful corner that found the head of Michael Nelson as he all too easily scored Killies equaliser. Roman Golobart then came on for Aaran Doran who had a very impressive game. Unfortunately although it seemed sensible to shore up the defence, Caley Thistle were still unable to prevent Killie from scoring more. Shiels then put Kilmarnock into the lead on the 80th minute. His shot across the box didn’t look like it was going in however it was impossible for Graeme Shinnie to get out of the way and he turned the ball into his own net. Of course, Roman Golobart will be claiming it to add to his goal tally! Killie then went 4-2 up when William Gros passed to Shiels who slotted the ball past Esson. The brief introduction of Gregory Tade with a few minutes to go wasn’t enough to muster an equaliser but Caley Thistle came back into the game with 1 minute to play. Richie Foran crossed in and Steve Williams nudged the ball across the goal line. There was time for one final attack from Caley Thistle but we couldn’t get the break in front of goal. Overall, it was a very entertaining game where Caley Thistle looked set for victory until the red card. Another defeat, but no shame in the performance. However, the terribly sad events in the stand puts the game into perspective.

  20. yeah, thought of mentioning the Livi game, but in all honesty, didnt know whether to put that one in the good or bad category ..... The 4-0 part was obviously bad, but getting back to 4-3 and the game itself was amazing ("an equalising goal for Inverness would have been the cherry on top of the already tasty cake" or something like that was the descriuption from Bill Leckie) .... it was made even better for me by the fact that this spectacle of sport (both on the pitch, and with fans mingling) happened on the same weekend as the shame of Hugh Dallas getting the coin in the head in an OF game .....
  21. Funnily enough ... I blogged in part about this earlier in the week on my Toronto FC site ...... http://tfcpics.com/b...same-old-story/ Here's what I wrote
  22. We have enabled a feature that we hope will make life easier for our existing members and also maybe gain us a few new ones who perhaps cant be bothered registering and just want to sign in .... Facebook and Twitter integration. We already push our own articles (previews, reports etc) out directly to CaleyThistleOnline's Facebook and Twitter pages, but now you can sign in here using them too !!! There are three basic scenarios: If you are not registered, but you have a facebook or twitter account, you can now login using that ... just click the icon next to the sign in link at the top of the page ... this will take you to the page where you need to authorise our facebook or twitter app to log you in and after that it will just ask you a few questions needed to setup your account here ... If you already have an account here and your facebook or twitter account is registered to the same email address, then signing in with the same facebook or twitter button at the top of the page will link it to your existing account and you can use that to login in future if you wish. This might prove handy for those folk who sometimes forget their logins or who like things a little easier than having to remember multiple passwords. If your facebook or twitter account is not registered to the same email address as you use here, or you want to do it manually, you can also do this by editing your profile .... go to your "My Settings" page by clicking on your name up at the top of the page when logged in and selecting it in the dropdown. When the page loads, you will see a link to 'manage Facebook' and 'Manage Twitter' on the left side of the page. Once there, just follow the instructions to add Fb or Twitter to your account and synchronize it. Once facebook or Twitter is connected to your account you can login using either of them, or your normal forum login and you also have the option to push your CTO status out to either account or to import your facebook or twitter status in here ..... you can also promote new topics you create to your facebook page or twitter account and all sorts of other stuff ...... This is the first in a number of changes we are going to be making to the site in an effort to make it easier for users to interact with each other on the site here and with friends or fellow fans on social media As they say ... watch this space !
  23. "Grant, looks like Tommy didnt clear the pitch properly and there's a dog turd on your sock .... it's off to Dingwall for you ....."
  24. Of course, the other side to this coin is that less U19 players from outside the area, who may or may not be Scottish (accomodation costs are the same whether they are from Glasgow or Gloucester surely?) might actually mean more opportunity for local youths ........?
  25. 18/11/2000 for me ..... County 0-3 ICT and Alex Bone with not one, not two, but three Red Cards !!!! Some time later, I asked Charlie what he had said to Bone to make him lose the plot and punch him and although he wouldnt answer at the time, he revealed much later that it was quite mundane and he had just asked him the score Official Report from Ian Broadfoot: A classic Highland derby and a convincing win for Caley Thistle. County finished with nine men and were always chasing the game. The visitors’ goals came from a Dennis Wyness brace and one from man-of-the-match Mike Teasdale. The game was played at a furious pace and Caley Thistle nearly took the lead in 10 minutes. Martin Bavidge sent over a cross from the right and Wyness headed over the bar. From the corner Bobby Mann seemed to head home with Nicky Walker beaten but it was cleared off the line by Eddie Cunnington. Five minutes later at the other end Jim Calder tipped over a Brian Irvine header. Just after the half hour mark John Fraser ran in on Calder but his shot was blocked by the ‘keeper. In 35 minutes a Darren Henderson angled lob beat Calder but came back off the post and was cleared. A minute later David Bagan sent Teasdale clear down the right and he ran on before hitting a low ball into the box. Wyness swept it past Walker from 8 yards to give the visitors the lead. In 56 minutes Charlie Christie passed to Teasdale who this time ran down the left. From just inside the box he sent in a curling lob which deceived Walker totally and ended up in the back of the net. On the hour mark Caley Thistle got a fright when Calder completely missed a pass back and the ball slid past the post for a corner. In 63 minutes Darren Henderson followed through on Calder after the ‘keeper had saved the ball and he was sent off for a second yellow card. The third goal was again set up for Wyness by Teasdale. Wyness was closed down by two players but somehow squeezed the ball past Walker from 15 yards. In 74 minutes frustration in the County ranks surfaced when Alex Bone received a second yellow card after a foul on Christie. Words were exchanged and Bone seemed to punch Christie. Bone’s reaction led to a second red in the referee’s room after the match then incredibly he received a third for further protests. County were now down and out and it was only a question of whether Caley Thistle would score more. Wyness tried hard for his hat trick and had three good shots in the last 10 minutes – two over the bar and one well saved by Walker. A first-class performance by Caley Thistle and a well deserved win.
