Well Done Marc
Absolutely not !!!!!! ...... just joking ! As CD says, stick a link in your signature when the time comes, and if we can, we may also add a wee graphic to the front page somewhere or add it to the site calendar so it pops up as an event. We have no problem whatsoever advertising things our established site members do for recognised charities ... the site member should just give us a shout on email or PM or drop it in a relevant forum discussion ......

Match Worn Tops?
I dont think it happens now, but "match worn" tops used to get given to Player Sponsors at the end of the season .... I eventually (in 2002) got two Celtic -V- ICT ones from the Feb 8th 2000 game after they buggered up the order for my shirt at the end of the 1999/2000 season (they gave it to someone else by mistake). The quirky thing about those tops however, and what probably makes them worth more (although they will always be priceless to me, and never sold), is that they were also worn against Hearts in the 1-3 victory at Tynecastle and just had a 'SHARP' sponsor name ironed on over the top of the Scotrail one. We wore those shirts at the last minute as our own top was deemed to clash with the Hearts tops on TV .....

Dunfermline -V- ICT : Report
Inverness Nick a point Nick Ross scored a 73rd minute leveller to snatch a vital point at East End Park to maintain the eight point gap between the sides. Joe Cardle had opened the scoring on the stroke of half time after a Martin Hardie free kick came back off the bar, against the run of play. A draw was probably the fairest result, and considering that all four previous encounters this season had ended all square after ninety minutes then it was no surprise that the points were shared. David Proctor found himself starting ahead of Ross Tokely in the absence of Steve Williams and Kenny Gillet partnered him in central defence with Graeme Shinnie at left back. What became evident from the start was that we were playing with no out-and-out strikers with Shane Sutherland asked to plough the lone furrow and Winnall and McKay warming the bench. Capital Caley will spill the beans when he gets back home............and here he is. It’s difficult to report on a match that had few flash points. Most Caley Thistle fans were wanting a win before the game. By full time, I think that we were happy to take the point. We were close to getting nothing at all. As usual, the Elizabethan had a number of Caley Thistle fans congregated pre-match. There were even more Caley Thistle fans in the bar at the stadium hopeful of a win. Caley Thistle started brightly and were pressing towards the Pars goal for most of the first half. They could not get past the stuffy Pars defence and were limited to long range shots. However, even then, Caley Thistles first shot on goal came on the 20th minute. Claude Gnakpa's shot from the edge of the box trickled well wide of goal. Ten minutes later, and Shane Sutherland tried an almost identical shot to Gnakpa, again going painfully wide. Both teams were struggling to cope and for every pass that a Caley Thistle player would intercept, a Dunfermline player would then re-intercept. This certainly wasn’t a game of silky passing football. Out of the blue, the Pars were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Caley Thistle box right on the stroke of half time. From where the Caley Thistle fans were located, it looked like a clear dive from Joe Cardle from a Kenny Gillet tackle. Of course, I don’t hide the fact that I have red and blue tinted glasses on but I’ll have to look at the replay again to be sure. Martin Hardie's free kick rattled the cross bar and with the Caley Thistle defence sleeping, Joe Cardle lost his man and slotted the ball into the net. It was a cruel set back as Caley Thistle had most of the possession in the first period and Dunfermline had no other chances. Dunfermline nearly doubled their advantage just after half time when Patrick Boyle out jumped the Caley Thistle defence but his header went wide of goal. The Pars appeared to have the upper hand at the start of the second half. Andy Kirk's shot on the hour mark had Esson diving but it was a weak shot and Esson saved well. Soon after, and Terry Butcher made a substitution. Clauide Gnakpa came off for Billy Mckay. Claude had worked hard all match but his inability to pass or shoot at the right moment let him down. Foran was his usual commanding self and gave his heart and soul into the quest for an equaliser. Moments after MacKay came on, and it looked like the substitution was an effective one. He crossed over to Shane Sutherland who headed it but yet again, it went nowhere near goal. Shane Sutherland was then replaced with Owain Tudur-Jones, shortly before Joe Cardle was replaced by Paul Burns. On the 73rd minute we got the equaliser. Jonny Hayes collected the ball, ran along parallel to the sideline and crossed over to Nick Ross, who powered the ball into the top corner. There was a huge sense of relief within the Caley thistle support. We had struggled to create anything in the second half and the support did not want Pars first home victory of the season to come against us. Martin Hardie was then replaced by Liam Buchanan shortly after the goal. The goal seemed to give us the push that we needed and there was faint optimism that we could now go on and win the game. We had a fair amount of possession in the last 15 minutes but the final touch was letting Caley Thistle down badly. They looked disjointed and weary of the Pars counter attack. On the 80th minute, Ryan Thomson came on for Gary Mason as the Pars made their final change. Caley Thistle won a couple of corners towards the end as they looked to snatch victory. Unfortunately, Hayes corners were very weak and did not trouble the Dunfermline defence. Then it was time for the Caley Thistle support to really panic. A very late flurry by Dunfermline saw them awarded a corner. Paul Burns crossed in and Liam Buacanan's header should have found the target but somehow it went wide. It was a let off for Caley Thistle. For all Caley Thistles first half possession, they lost control of the ball far too many times. Too many crosses going wide. Too many passes intercepted. Too many shots going out for near throw ins! It was a bad day at the office, but could have been worse. However, I’m sure Terry Butcher will be happier with the point more than Jim McIntyre is. One thing is for sure though, Terry Butcher will not be happy with the performance. My MotM goes to Richie Foran. Not his best game, but his leadership qualities and sheer effort was impressive. Lets look at the bright side. There’s still 8 points between Caley Thistle and Dunfermline. We came out of that game after a hard fought scrap. We got a point, now it’s time to move on. We need to improve next week if we’re to beat relegation threatened Rangers. Butcher has a big job to do. 18th Feb 2012 Scottish Premier League East End Park, Dunfermline Dunfermline 1 - Cardle (45) /media/images/club_badges/dunfermline.png TEAM: Smith, McMillan, Rutkiewicz, Keddie, Boyle, Cardle (Burns 72), Hardie (Buchanan 74), Mason (Thomson 80), Hutton, Graham, Kirk. Barry Robson off to Canada
not excited to see him play .... excited to give him a hard time Doesnt take much for the TFC fans to get on the case of an opposing player, especially Vancouver or Montreal, so plant a few seeds in the minds and it will be priceless to see him turn on the gurn when he gets dogs abuse !

Rangers clearout?
Will leave it to Terry/Mo on this one ! We all know he (they) can spot a decent younger player, he's proven that several times by cherry picking some of our current players from England. He is also well aware of what stage contract talks with our own players are at and might have an inkling which players may or may not renew contracts ..... if he sees an opportunity, and its not going to cause us a financial headache then go for it ... if not, then it will be the usual summer merry go round ... where a lot of these players may still be available if they just sign on with a team until end of season.

Barry Robson off to Canada
Was reading the official announcement on MLS website a few minutes ago and it seems he is coming over as a "designated player" ..... This means he will be earning at least $335,000 per year as that is what is charged against the salary cap for DPs (and there is no point designating someone if they earn less than that). Current DPs include David Beckham ($6.5m p/yr), Thierry Henry ($5.6m), Rafa Marquez ($4.6m), Robbie Keane ($3.4m), Torsten Frings ($1.1m), Danny Koevermans ($1.4m). Cant see Robson getting that kind of money, but Vancouver's other DP - Eric Hassli - is on just shy of $1m per year so maybe in that ball park. (all figures US$ even if playing in Canada) Interestingly enough, Kris Boyd will also be a DP this year, for the Portland Timbers (who are managed by former Rangers player John Spencer) And for the nosey amongst us ... which is probably all of us, wait a couple of months into the season and the players association will publish a list of all player salaries so we will know how much Robson and Boyd are getting paid !

Lost money from Rangers game
If the game has yet to take place, and Rangers (or the administrators) cannot give assurances that the receipts for sales for this future fixture will be paid for then I say we should declare all tickets for the south stand void, reprint them on bright green paper (perhaps with white stripes) and sell them ourselves (or via the Portland Club) .... anyone turning up with original tickets gets turned away. simple. (in theory at least) the ticket money is not Rangers' money, it is ICT money which I think Rangers take a commission from for selling them, and which Rangers (and Celtic) requested to sell so they could control who got them amongst their support. If they are not going to pay for them, then the tickets are as good as frauds or forgeries and should be treated as such ....

Scottish Cup and replays
Aberdeen score 92nd minute winner ... Hearts get a 95th minute penalty and score to equalise. ....
-
Scottish Cup and replays
even weirder ...... Elgin beating Peterhead 4-0 ...... and Peterhead have scored 3 own goals ???????
-
Scottish Cup and replays
County losing 1-2 so far, St Mirren down to 10 men though .... and if you view the SkySports livescore page, Grant Munro is still Golly in disguise, in an old ICT shirt ! (not to mention most of the rest coming up as playing for other teams or 'undefined' )

Rangers go into administration
At a guess ... if they owe ICT money it will likely be for damages or ticket sales ... or both If seats are broken/ripped out or other damage done in the away end of a stadium, the home team routinely sends the visiting team a bill .... When it comes to ticket sales, quite often away tickets for an all ticket match are sold by the away team (eg. you had to buy your Celtic tickets for last weekend from ICT ... Pretty sure its the same when Rangers/Celtic come here and we send the tickets down the road.)

GordyfromSneck
It is with extreme sadness that I post this thread to let everyone know of news that reached me a few minutes ago that a formerly prolific poster on the site passed away over the weekend from a heart attack. Gordon Urquhart, known as "GordyfromSneck" on here was in his fifties and most recently had been living in Zambia. He was also enrolled at UHI on a PG course in Interpretation and had assisted many of the museums in the Highlands. Seems like Gordy took his love of Caley Thistle with him to Zambia, where a blogger friend of his wrote this little bio below a poem he had submitted to the site .... "Gordon Urquhart is a Scoattish Heelander living in Zambia, where his short attention span attracts less attention. He likes making wee films about animals, portmanteau electronic music, his children, Inverness Caley Thistle, history and the bittersweet prospect of the death of capitalism. Though she gets irritated by his sarcasm, he loves his wife. He thinks he isn't nearly sarcastic enough." On a personal level, the news stunned me even more as I had been thinking of him just this morning after reading the "where are they now?" thread and noting that someone had mentioned Africa. I remember my last conversation with him, where he was trying to figure out how he could get radio coverage of ICT games from abroad and was picking my brains for the info. On behalf of the website, and from me personally, our thoughts, best wishes, and deepest condolences go out to his family, and to those who knew him well whether on here or in real life. As a mark of respect to Gordy, we shall be 'retiring' his username so no-one can use it in the future. RIP Gordy.

Rangers go into administration
If they get punished like Livingston then nothing will happen. The SPL did not deduct any points from Livi, it was the SFL which added the punitive 'demotion' punishment after they were relegated from the SPL and when they could not guarantee to fulfill fixtures .... The SPL put rules in place after the Motherwell, Dundee and Livi administrations so that future teams going into administration were fined 10 points, hence the reason Gretna had that sanction placed on them, and like Livi, the punitive additional sanctions were only added after they had left the SPL through relegation and dropped into the SFL. If however, they get punished like Livingstone then malaria and dysentry may indeed be the end of them !!!
-
Rangers go into administration
There's another reason they wont fall completely .... a "new" Rangers. ie. a new team taking over the registration of the other immediately becomes ineligible to play in Europe for three years ... Whilst some leagues, and even UEFA accept transfer of ownership, name and such like, the membership of UEFA is not transferable and the team gets classed as a new member. Under club licensing rules, you have to be a member for 3 years before becoming eligible for European competition.
-
Rangers go into administration
ok, guys, pissing contest over (myself included). Lets agree one thing ... the SPL have, in the past made some decisions that could possibly be called "absurd" ... and if they need to again, they probably will. However, I tend to agree with the other posters who suggest this is all a matter of timing and strategy based on league position and cup status, and it will not come to a full closure or re-birth of the club. They (Rangers) will suffer nothing more than the now mandated 10 point penalty, and they will still finish second. They will pay off their creditors at a few pence in the pound, come out of administration before next season and still be eligible to play in Europe ......

Is John Terry a good man ?
no. this is John Good Man
