  1. I can see them doing it at Ayr if Dundee dont win in midweek ... they may figure this is less of a security risk .... at the TCS we would be getting a trophy that the opposition and their fans thought would be theirs and the possibility of tension or trouble might be heightened ..... having said that .... it HAS to be done at the TCS as far as I am concerned
  2. Scotty replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Definitely time to start talks and I would expect that to begin immediately ....
  3. The other Mo wouldnt get a nice present :allhail: http://www.thestar.com/sports/soccer/mls/t...c-s-mo-johnston http://tfcpics.com/index.php?option=com_wo...0&Itemid=42
  4. we havent technically won it yet ... so if Dundee win in midweek we wont go into the Ayr game as champs and therefore I wouldnt expect to see us presented with the trophy. I really hope that the SFL look to the Dundee game for presentation of the trophy (after we win the Ayr game).
  5. Most of the posters on here???? Actually, I think the majority have been pro-Butcher for most of the time ... yes there were a few casting nasturtiums (:)) but a lot of us - and i include myself in that number - have posted frequently that he must be given time to get it right and to look at his record at Motherwell which is the only other club where TB/MM were a partnership rather than Brentford or Australia or other clubs.
  6. Heilandee started a thread to congratulate ICT and as we know this site is read by many at the club I thought I would start a similar thread to congratulate Terry, Maurice, every single one of our players in our team (whether you rate them or not) and the entire backroom and office staff. As an ICT fan, May of 2009 was an extreme low point for us all but thanks to the teamwork of all concerned, April and May of 2010 will bring us nothing but good things as we cement our return to the SPL and celebrate a team who barely 3 months ago looked like they had blown it. We watched almost unbelieving as they picked themseves up by the bootstraps and went on an amazing unbeaten run that will bring the title back to Inverness. Some of us waited for the inevitable sting in the tail - and mathematically it is possible it could still arrive - but Terry and the boys have done us proud and put smiles on faces in all corners of the globe. Everyone ..... THANK YOU VERY MUCH from a delighted ICT fan PS - This thread is for positive comments and messages of congratulations only - anything else will be deleted from this thread.
  7. thanks Heilandee ..... appreciate your sincerity
  8. That will be so sweet !!! considering they were gonna skoosh it !
  9. championeees :) TB & MM :allhail:

  12. Incidentally - and this may only interest Latviaman - TFC now have a couple of Latvian defenders on the team, well one Latvian and one Russian who has played in Latvia for a while. Maxim Usanov, formerly of Skonto Riga & FK Riga Raivis Hscanovics, formerly of Skonto Riga ICT better get the decent Latvians signed up now ... looks like MLS have discovered there is some talent there !
  13. Not sure if anyone is interested, but Toronto FC played their first home game of the season last night against league newcomers Philadelphia Union. In the close season, Toronto basically assembled a new team and most players (and the coach - Preki) were experiencing the atmosphere of BMO Field for the first time. In the close season, TFC spent more than $5 million on tearing up the artificial surface and installing real grass along with a sophisticated undersoil heating and drainage system. They also built a 4th stand, well a half-stand really at the North End of the ground. Despite the best efforts of referee Baldomero Toledo - a ref who has had to have a police escort off the TFC pitch twice in previous seasons due to his bad decisions - TFC ran out 2-1 winners with Dwayne De Rosario scoring both goals. Pictures from the game and some pre-match video of TFC fans on their regular "march" to the ground can be seen at another site we look after at http://tfcpics.com. One of my friends over here also writes a blog about following TFC which is an interesting read !
  14. It smacks a bit of cutting off their nose to spite their face if they do not work to reach a solution. OK, so they have to write off some debt, BUT in the future they will have a guarantee of income which will not happen if clach are allowed to be wound up. Maybe there is a compromise in there somewhere where AS could pay a portion of the debt and the council could waive the rest
  15. Rosscoe is the vice-captain so I would imagine he will be captain for the day. If not him then Russell Duncan for me. I think Foran might be a better choice, but I like the idea of the captain being further back on the pitch so he can hopefully see whats going on around him
  16. Probably because the SFL dont care ? We are simply working within the rules given to us by them ... Partick have been down here longer and maybe know more of what they can get away with
  17. As noted on last weeks matchday thread we are now going to have a "post-match thread" after every game. When the game is over, we will close the matchday thread - where we allow people to talk about ALL games going on that day - and open an ICT post-match one. The very first post of the post-match thread has links to various things - stats, tables, match report and the video highlights page on ictfc.co.uk.
  18. Interesting to note that Bryan Prunty and Rory McAllister are up for D2 and Liam Fox for D3 ...... Could ICT players or former players win all the SFL awards ? McAllister has got to be a shoe-in for D2 and although I havent been paying attention to D3, it wouldnt be much of a leap to expect the winner to come from the champions of that division ....
  19. I miss some aspects of it ... games against the biggest sides in the land, audio commentary of the full 90 minutes, video highlights (although we are now covered on that front), and the fact that when other TFC fans or work colleagues ask me about my team I can say, yes we play in the SPL, yes we have beaten Celtic/Rangers/Other I dont miss the fact that we can never win it, or that some games - and the league in general - may not be as competitive as the SFL, nor do I miss the constant fear of relegation and being a perpetual bottom six team ..... I will however enjoy seeing us back in there if we can finish the season on top.
  20. I know :tonguecheek: just trying to be obtuse though.
  21. I like this thread .. there are so many different variations and computations that you can throw out there but I hope TB & MM have only a single game plan in mind ... to win the next three games and go up as champions on the back of a 21 game unbeaten streak in the league that includes 9 wins on the trot !!! That would be impressive and just shy of equalling our best ever streak of 11 consecutive league wins (16/11/96 - 15/02/97 - SFL3) and 22 league games unbeaten (02/11/96 - 19/04/97 - SFL3) Incidentally - If Rooney can score in the next couple of games he will also equal Stewart, Xausa, Wyness (twice), and Richie in scoring in 5 consecutive games ... record holder is Dargo (7). http://caleythistleonline.com/team-info/stats-a-facts
  22. To the OP: Football is all about decisions and no manager will always get it right. However, I would wager that TB has made a fair few more correct ones than MM this season (thats Mark McGhee not Maurice Malpas). His best decision - or so it would seem - is his decision to commit himself to the ICT cause for at least another season and I am sure your manager reckons his worst was going to the Dons in the first place !
  23. not quite. If Dundee lose (or draw) on Saturday, their possible maximum points goes down from 69 to 66 (or 67 if they draw). We are currently on 64 so if we lost too then we could still be caught by both County and Dundee. The perfect scenario for us on Saturday is for us to win against the Pars (no easy task) and to hope that Dundee lose or draw against Morton. If that happens we can only be equalled on points and no-one will catch us on GD.
  24. The suggestion I like best is for us just to win all three of our games then no-one can catch us and we dont have to worry about maths .... just beer
  25. If we beat Dunfermline we can't be caught by County - regardless of their result - unless they improve their goal difference by 26 !
