IMPORTANT: Site Downtime in coming weeks
OK folks, as mentioned earlier in the season, we are going to be making some changes to the site over the summer and the first of these will happen in the week after the Dundee game. Our domain name of 'caleythistleonline.com' is currently registered with one company who we dont use for much any more so we are going to be moving it to our normal registrar. This should not take too long and it may cause no disruption at all but please be aware that there is a possibility that you might get some page not found errors or the site may not come up at some point when we do this. At worst any disruption should only last for 2 or 3 days, but at best it might be almost seamless - we have no way to predict which scenario will actually happen as it is out of both our control and also our registrar. As all email addresses ending @caleythistleonline.com are also tied in with the domain name our email will also be affected so if you send to us do make allowances for this !!!! Once we have transferred our domain name to our new registrar we will then be looking at updating the forums to the latest version (i think you will be impressed) and also the main site in preparation for next season. This will involve creating a test site and getting it ready then switching over to it when we are happy it is working properly. We may ask a few users to help us test it - we will PM you nearer the time. As mentioned earlier in the season, we will also be hosting this site with a different provider to see if it is quicker and shows less errors than we have experienced here over the season. When we do this switchover, we may also have a further couple of days of downtime as we need to tell the domain name to look for the site at <"NEW-HOST"> instead of <"OLD-HOST"> and again neither us or the host can do anything about the updating process as that takes time to percolate through the internet. We will try to give further updates about any (planned) downtime as soon as we can.

Griffiths charged by police, car seized
Like STV's little sting in the tail in the final paragraph ......... "Dundee missed out on promotion to the Scottish Premier League despite leading the First Division for most of the season. Inverness Caledonian Thistle clinched promotion last week."

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
They've only said that you can't come on during the game, and also that you need to get off the pitch before they will present the trophy. Precisely. AFTER the game it sounds like it will be tolerated, even expected, but DURING the game and it will not be tolerated. It doesnt matter if its 30 seconds and a couple of feet over the barriers or a full length run up the pitch with a swan dive in the centre circle it will get the club heavily sanctioned if it happens two weeks in a row. Not to mention the potential for an FBO that both I and Birdog have mentioned in this thread. At the end of the game perhaps but not for the two during the game. Bottom line from various emails I have exchanged with folk this week is that the club want everyone to enjoy the party, but they want them to do it responsibly. If fans respect the request then there will be no problems and everyone should be able to enjoy themselves without getting arrested (unless they do something silly). However, anyone stupid enough to invade the pitch during the actual match this week - after all these words of wisdom and warnings - can expect to be severely dealt with by club and/or the authorities. As Birdog mentioned just above .... do you want to risk getting chucked out and a potential banning order that prevents you from seeing the flag unfurled next season? I get the impression that the club pretty much expect a full scale invasion at the final whistle but if that happens, they would like it cleared quickly so they can get down to the final business of the day in presenting the trophy to the team in the centre circle. That wont go ahead until the pitch is cleared. So the message is clear .... during the game, celebrate in the stands by enjoying yourselves and singing/chanting to your heart's content. Once the game is over, and only when its over, then its party time.

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
club comment posted further up and they made it clear that pitch invasion was not wanted this week as there would be consequences. end of debate as far as I am concerned. ohhh ... and lets tone down the one or two personal tiffs that are starting ... we should be celebrating not bitching.

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
The statement would likely be 'come along, enjoy the party, and have a great time in the stands, but do not encroach onto the field of play'. Anything else - such as saying no action would be taken, or saying it was OK to do it at the end of the game is opening up way too big a can of worms for them as it could be regarded as tacit approval of a breach of the league rules (and therefore basically inviting a large fine) and also, in terms of action taken, it is the police not the club who would decide on that.

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
Fines should deter fans though ...... we are not rich enough that we can absorb a fine of 10K or more .... it will come out of the budget somewhere .... and at its most basic, as I posted above, could be the difference between retaining an exciting young prospect or having to let him go .....

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
I hear you, but unfortunately thats not the way they work ..... we will be lucky to get a slap for Ayr (and I agree thats what we should get at most, with Ayr having no sanction against them either), but if we do it again this week it will be more likely the equivalent of a hard kick in the nuts and we will deserve it.

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
The home club gets sanctioned (warning, fine or whatever) because it is their stadium and they are responsible for crowd control The away club gets sanctioned (if its their fans who do something) because they are regarded as being held accountable for the actions of their support. In my mind, neither option is correct as the clubs should not be held accountable for the actions of individuals but as the SFL/SFA cannot fine us as individuals, they do it to the club so the 'trickle-down effect' means everyone gets more harsh stewarding or less freedoms within the stadium. Its also a double-dunter nowadays because if the fan also gets arrested they are more than likely to get nailed with a FBO which may or may not be deserved !!!!

Pitch Invasion Repercussions
After the final whistle will not likely be a problem but during the game will have repercussions for the club given that we did it at Ayr too. Not sure if we will be fined for Ayr or not, but if we do it two weeks in a row I think a fine is guaranteed !!! Agree with what you say Chibber, but bottom line is that this is the SFA/SFL you are dealing with we all know that perspective is not something that is in the dictionary most times. Stay off the pitch until the game has ended (this time). I think a fine would be a tad harsh, for Ayr but if we do it again this week then we deserve it. For those thinking of doing it without considering the consequences think on this .... Even the most basic level of SFA fine could be the difference between offering one of our decent younger players a contract or not. We may be going back up to the SPL but that doesnt mean we have rakes of cash to throw about in consequence for others' actions. I said last week I would probably have been on the park at Ayr myself - and I would - but this week, we have to stay off it until the end. This is THE single most important post in this thread. Saturday is all about partying, whether you are at the TCS or somewhere else in the UK or over the globe. A wee pitch invasion may seem like "a good idea at the time" but please heed the warning above and the rumblings coming from the club that there could be consequences both for the club and the individuals .... Football Banning Orders are horrible things and I dont agree with them for anything but those cases where there is no option but up until now they have been handed out willy nilly whenever a supporter ends up in court for anything football related ... dont let yourself be excluded from SPL football for a quick 30 seconds on the pitch. wait until after the game for anything like this. Actually, I think you will find that the stewards will be trying to allow people to party and the club will be doing the same BUT any incursion onto the pitch during the game will have consequences. I dont have anything official - and I dont know if we will or not - but I get the feeling that the club may view a post-match mini-invasion as inevitable but they hope to get it cleared up quickly so the trophy can be presented to the team on the pitch. Lets heed the words of TB and show everyone we know how to behave and once the match is all over, how to party !!!!!

I have a similar problem on my camera .... the video is recorded uncompressed and is huge. I recommend WinX converter [ http://www.winxdvd.com/video-converter/ ] and convert to FLV with a size of 640x480 and bitrate around 1000 - should produce a decently compressed video at a decent quality that isnt too huge ....... unfortunately, its a win program not a Mac so you may be out of luck ... sure there is a mac equivalent though.

not sure, we've never actually used it for videos :021: you can give it a try (with a small one) and see what it does.

Hayes said in the papers last week that he was looking to pledge his long-term future to ICT ... I just hope we get him to sign a nice long contract as I have a feeling he will continue to improve and improve. Rooney is untried in the SPL but he too is improving rapidly and definitely worthy of an extension so we dont have any talk of a Bosman around Xmas time. 6 months ago people were bitching that he was a s*** striker, now he has 26 goals to his credit ..... he might have a slow start in the SPL but I feel he will come good too. I worried about losing Ross if we didnt make the SPL, especially given the comments that Pele gave me for my 500th appearance article [ quote: "I believe that if the club doesn?t win promotion this season he may look again at his career and think it is time for him to move on while he?s still at an age where he can make an impact. I certainly believe he is too good for the SFL"] but now that we have made it back up, I think he will stay (hope so anyway). Esson and Proctor both in the P&J wanting new deals at ICT: http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/1708455

home shirt for 10/11
true .... but its way better for our egos to wear some quality and spacious 2XL Adidas gear than some form fitting Italian stuff in 5 or 6XL :021: Seriously though - I bought a TFC top in the first season, and will buy the white one this season and the quality of the thing is light years ahead of any of the (Errea) ICT tops I have. I have no worries about the sizing of TFC tops as they are always the same ... a fact that cannot be said for ICT tops where they can vary from batch to batch and do vary between the home and away kits ! The point about other manufacturers is fairly moot though as we are obligated to Errea for a while yet (not sure how long we renewed for but CaleyD will likely confirm). However, when it comes to the next renewal, I would like to see us at least look around and see if any other manufacturer is interested in supplying our kit or not and what else they could bring to the table that might be better than our current supplier.

In preparation for this week's game, I have created a gallery for pictures/video/audio from this coming Saturday. http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...autocom=gallery Feel free to upload pictures and/or short videos once the game has been played. The only rules we have set are simple - no images copyrighted to someone else, and nothing that isnt suitable for all ages. with regards to videos - we are happy to show video of the celebrations and or the fans but please no 'match action' ... we have had that discussion and most folk know the score with that. If you have a particularly long video or have trouble uploading video, let myself or CaleyD know and we may be able to make other arrangements for you such as FTP upload which we can then add manually.

Our Season in a Nutshell
no worries about posting the link (it was a nice read), although we do have a blogging system on here if that interests you (doesnt have to be ICT - I sometimes wax lyrical about Toronto FC) .... also, as a "budding journalist", we are always looking for site members to provide things like reviews, reports, or any other types of articles if you were interested ..... if you are, speak to themann4thejob who by virtue of encouraging / press-ganging and generally browbeating members of our editorial team into supplying articles is pretty much our "editor in chief" these days

I am no fan of Errea. When it comes to the strips, I am not a fan of their sizing (sorry, if you need to produce a size like 4, 5 or 6XL then maybe it is the manufacturer and not (just) the wearer who has an issue), nor am I a fan of their quality. I do however like their polo tops .... I still have a wearable one that is at least 6 or 7 yrs old so it has done well. Toronto (and all of MLS) utilise Adidas and I have to say that the attention to detail - and basic all round quality - that goes into their strips is absolutely immense. I also fit into a 2XL !!! I would love for us to have Adidas but I guess we probably wouldnt fall into the 'sell enough' criteria. Toronto released a new white kit this year and I found this video on youtube .... it shows neat touches like the "established 2007" print on the inside of the shirt, the little waist tab with the Canada flag, and the overall look - I have to say that since seeing the top up close and personal now, the video does not even do it justice !!!! so are the real fans geting to hold the cup
I think someone just did ........ I thought I did well coming 4000 miles every so often and 'accidentally' working the dates out so that there were one or two games on when I visited ... but I got to hand it to the boys down under who make a trek that is 3 or 4 times longer than mine (each way) .... Jock Watt did it, so too did Gabby and from his post I assume Gerry has also done it ... of course, we cant forget Scarlet either who travelled from Vancouver to watch the mighty ICT. Point is, we all make an effort and we will all have stories to tell about sacrifices or efforts we have made to follow ICT and we are all absolutely wonderful fans :025: .... but my vote goes to Doresboy - sitting next to Uncle Albert does it !!! PS ... Guzz ... give the grumpy old sod my best
