[merged] Supporters Club Buses
Given that one person (not sure if they are a trust member /official or not) posted the information about the supporters club co-ordinator and a Trust member posted what is presumably a decision by the entire committee of the Trust to organise a bus .. then yes, co-incidental is probably a good word to choose birdog !!! I am sure they made this decision well before the post you refer to appeared and probably did so because there is a chance we could be winning a title at any one of the three matches we have left and therefore there is (or may be) a demand for additional buses. As for the other theory you seem to be embarking upon, I would urge you to stop as your deductions are quite wrong.

Getting lost in the maths
After tonights game ..... ICT - P33 - 64 pts - +30 GD. Possible maximum is 73pts DFC - P32 - 57pts - +14 GD. Possible maximum is 69pts RC. - P30 - 49pts. +5 GD. Possible maximum is 67pts. We need 3pts to beat County to the title - unless they increase their goal difference by +26. Another County draw would mean we need only 1 point and a County defeat puts them out of the race. We need 5 points to beat Dundee to the title - unless they increase their goal difference by +17. A Dundee draw or loss would leave us needing just 1 win in 3 games assuming they winn all the rest.

We do not have a problem with that if someone from the supporters club wants to supply the info every week. They can post it and we will most definitely 'sticky' it.

nahh, its simple ... forget everyone else, win the next two games and the last game is a party !!!!

Getting lost in the maths
We have P33 - 64 pts. Possible maximum is 73pts Dundee have P32 - 57 pts. Possible maximum is 69pts County have P29 - 48pts. Possible maximum is 69pts. All other tems cannot beat our current total. The simple math is that if we win 2 of our remaining 3 fixtures, neither County nor Dundee can catch us. If County or Dundee draw a match, the best they can get is 67 points and based on our goal difference they would have to have a victory of 18-0 or more in there to catch us on GD so we would only have to win 1 of our 3 games.

I apologise in advance for the number of quotes, but there was something I wished to comment on in nearly every post ! Having spent some time on the supporters club committee, I can definitely sympathise with Kath (and appreciate her efforts). It is a shame that she has decided to call it quits, but who knows, maybe now she can enjoy her away days in full !!! This has ALWAYS been the case even going back 10+ years. The ONLY event that ever seemed to draw any significant numbers was the end of season party that kind of trailed off after the players were no longer "obliged" to turn up. The website does not abuse anyone, it is an inanimate object. We have also rapped knuckles when people crossed the line between bitching about the actual service into bitching about the person. One other point though .... users might complain or raise issues via this particular website but in the absence of a dedicated supporters club site where else can users turn to to ask questions? We even setup the supporters club with an email address that has in the past forwarded mail to the personal accounts of various different officials of the supporters club so that the email address itself ([email protected]) could remain unchanged year after year. I think this is a question for the supporters club committee and not the supporters themselves. If the supporters club are unable or unwilling to continue organising busses to away games (and trust me, I could totally understand if they were) - which seems to have been their primary function for a number of years - then the question has to be asked whether there is a need for both them and for the Supporters Trust ... would some form of amalgamation not be a better idea where a "travel club" could be organised within the Trust organisation ? Why will you get flak for putting a valid subject on the website? Why so negative about the site? Are you deliberately trying to be antagonistic in order to get the very response you supposedly fear? We DO have a page on here about the supporters club - its in the main menu, and we also offered to have a separate forum for busses/travel info. I have been waiting since the start of season 2008/09 for requested updates to the information and application forms on the main site. This is not a dig at Kath or at anyone else, just pointing out that if we get any pertinent information from Club, Trust, Supporters Club or anyone else that is helpful to fans we will ALWAYS publish it. However we are neither psychic, nor do we have enough time to be going around chasing others for the info. So you dont want anyone to slag you off because you are not as thick skinned as Kath, but you find it quite acceptable to slag off Club staff and even call for a "red card" for one of them. Unbelievable display of double standards. It is advertised but I dont believe it is as well advertised as it could be. Again, we are happy to display any information the supporters club send us about this service or any other events (which Kath normally posts herself in the forum). This is probably the first statement I have agreed with !!! This is the second statement I agree with !!!

Where could I see the highlights of games?
I dont want to tempt fate, so will use the word "IF" ...... If we do get promoted to the SPL then the first thing we will do is request a copy of the current media guidelines for the SPL and see how we can work within those guidelines to provide footage. The rules for SPL - bearing in mind this was when Setanta existed - used to be as follows: highlights from Saturday games could be shown after midnight Sunday and highlights from other games could be shown from midnight on the day of the game. You could make use of the Setanta/STV highlights footage (with commentary) or use your own. You could show the games live outside the UK so long as it did not clash with a UEFA listed blackout period in that country but you must have suitable "geo-blocking" technology to prevent live broadcast to users in the UK. For matches covered live by the TV provider you were entitled to access their feed free of charge and were also able to access the OBs from broadcasters who were filming it for later use and streaming it back to their studios. Although the feeds are free to the club, any costs incurred in accessing these feeds (equipment etc) is borne by the clubs. Clubs can broadcast audio coverage - either their own or the BBC feed - via their website to any country worldwide. I cant see live video happening in the immediate future, but there is definitely a chance - if the rules are still the same - that we would try to see if the club could arrange the BBC audio commentary feed so that some games are not blocked.

I would think we would definitely be category 2 but might squeak into category 3. VIP seating could be accomplished in the main stand - these seats would not be in any season ticket package for any european game so they could workaround the requirement. Lighting might be a worry. I know we had to upgrade ours when we went to the SPL but I have no clue what the specs are .... TV studios could also be accomodated probably - there is the current press box, but some form of temporary structure could probably be erected if it needed to be - a bit like what happens when SKY broadcast. Alternatively, some of the boxes up top might be used or the media room at the front of the stadium? What I posted earlier were just the bullet points from Wikipedia ..... There are loads of other hoops to jump through regarding the stadia and I have a copy of the 2006 stadium criteria document from UEFA but no idea if that is still current. I assume that this document goes hand in hand with various aspects of the club licensing program that ICT had to undertake in the SPL. regulationsstadiuminfrastructure_e.pdf

Scottish Cup Final (merged)
On the one hand, I do congratulate County for their achievement. We all know how it felt to win THAT game in Glasgow and like "England 66" we have trotted out "Feb 8th 2000" as our crowning achievement ... hell we even released a DVD (Night to Remember), recently held a 10 year anniversary dinner and are releasing a 10 year commemorative video. Was it the most important result in our history, it certainly felt like it at the time, and it probably was, but I would argue that we have had bigger since that date - like promotion to the SPL, or actually reaching the semis of the cup twice. County went there and played out of their skins against a Celtic team that thought they just had to turn up to win it. That is very similar to our game in 2000. So for going there to play football and overcoming the odds to actually win it I do congratulate them wholeheartedly. It has put them on the map, maybe even moreso than it did us and they should be allowed to bask in their glory. I dont know how many times I answered the question "Who are Ross County?" when I was in the pub watching the Toronto game on Saturday night !!!! However, right now I can honestly say I care not a jot who actually wins it although I am leaning more in the direction of United !!! If County do actually win it, there will be a lot of rubbing our noses in it because they will qualify for Europe and they will be able to say they won the cup, both things that ICT have never done. Not sure I like that idea. I certainly could not go along and support them (or United) as I support only two teams - ICT and TFC and if they are not involved I am really not interested enough to splash the cash on a day out where I have no investment in hoping for a particular outcome. If some ICT fans want to go along as neutrals or even to support one or other of the teams then that is up to them. I will not be as presumptious as to call them better or worse fans than me or anyone else. It is their choice and that choice should be respected - just as mine should. At the end of the day, both teams have earned their places in the final and come the day, may the best team win ... even if it happens to be County (as much as that sticks in the throat :tonguecheek:).

Where could I see the highlights of games?
Although we are hosting the videos we are not logging any data. However, the club's provider should be able to let them know how many times the page was viewed when they give them their monthly stats for the complete site. I would be interested to know the number of pageviews for the videos but the club may keep that private.

Where could I see the highlights of games?
a quick point to note .... in the early videos, the video bitrate was "variable" (VBR) with a maximum of 1024 kbit/s but I have now pushed that up progressively to about 1400 kbit/s maximum as we seek that happy medium between quality and decent streaming with little or no buffering. For the non technical users, that means that the quality is better but there should still be no significant buffering (delays as the PC downloads more of the video) if you have a decent connection. 1400 kbit/s (or 1.4Mbit/s) is roughly equivalent to a VCD format. Not as good as DVD or standard TV but probably as good as we will get without causing buffering issues.

Derek Adams
I think County will lose Adams sooner rather than later although the presence of Adams Sr may make it a harder decision for him. Lets face it, no matter what Adams has done or does in the future, he now has legendary status at County (much like Pele did/does at ICT) so if/when he goes the decision is all going to be his. Having said that, if Brewster were to take his place I am confident he would win them a championship ....... The 2nd Division championship

Where could I see the highlights of games?
The video project is a collaboration between ICT FC, "ANDYCAM", and CTO. By virtue of CTO's involvement, CaleyD is involved in the project even if he doesnt currently take an active role in handling the actual footage. We discussed this (currently passive) involvement with the club openly when they asked me to continue the work that Donald had started and as it met with no objections on their side we all continued to the point where we are today. Andy has loads of ideas about what he would like to do in terms of footage and hopes to discuss this with the club in coming weeks so hopefully, between us all - including posters on here some of whose suggestions have already been incorporated into the footage - we can continue to build the service into one that makes us all happy

Where could I see the highlights of games?
As I have said before - please dont give the plaudits to me .... I appreciate the thanks received, but my involvement is very much a selfish act !!! I want to see the highlights as much as everyone else and anything I can do to help get them online is as much for my own benefit as everyone else's .... The whole video thing is truly a collaborative effort between the club and volunteers and in terms of quantity of work, ANDYCAM deserves the lion's share of the praise. He gets himself to games, records the whole thing and then pores through the 90 minutes to cut it down to 3. Anyone with any experience of editing videos will know that this is an huge task and every video he has sent has been excellent, especially considering he usually makes it available to me within 12-24 hours of a game. I just add the graphics and titling and then upload the finished article to our hosting area and send the club the updated page code with the links which the club then publish. I know the club have received a lot of comments at the stadium, and we have received a lot on here and virtually all have been enormously positive and thankful. To me, those comments, and being able to show the club that there are enormous potential benefits or PR opportunities if they open up a little and allow people to work with them for the benefit of us all is the ultimate reward. Hopefully the video 'experiment' will make it easier for us all to work collaboratively with the club in other areas.

Ritchie Foran goal v Morton
You do realise that you are in breach of the SFL copyright and they will now hunt you down like a dog ..... ????? seriously though, its on the official highlights which we worked so hard to get the club to go along with so I would request you remove the footage from youtube as there is a chance that either the club, or more likely the SFL will complain to youtube about you posting copyrighted material (ie. match footage) and you may find that future uploads are restricted by youtube.

Where could I see the highlights of games?
:( me too, me too, it's like crack, but i'll be patient, as if it was me, you could expect them a month next friday! Actually, i'm really amazed how it's done. I mean, home and away, getting main stand centre position, with a big camera, plus editing, etc...how did these guys pull it off?? It's a mammoth achievement in terms of orgainsation and logistics sorry for the delay folks - my fault - I had a lot on this weekend so have only just picked up the highlights from Andy. Not likely to be online tonight (will see how it goes) but will do my very best tomorrow morning (my time)

Toronto FC scarf
Toronto FC give us a new scarf every year as part of our season ticket package. It is classed as our ticket to game1 and has a ticket attached to it. I thought this year's one might interest a few of our ex-jaggie fans out there [ps - I know it looks black (bad lighting), but the dark colour is actually a very dark grey]

can we stick to the thread please .... personal discussions and discussions about other posters should be taken to the PM system.

Scottish Cup Final (merged)
To get back to the subject of the thread .... I congratulate Ross County on their great result today. They have, for the first time in the senior history, done something before ICT in getting to the final of the Cup, and possibly into Europe. Reading the reports and listening to various interviews, it sounds very reminiscent of our result against Celtic in 2000. The big team underestimated the wee team and on the day of the game only one team went out there with the determination and effort designed to win it whereas the big team thought they just had to turn up to win it. Whether our result was bigger than today's result will be debated long and hard, but personally, I think today's may be .... County are in the final and if they end up playing Dundee United, they will also have qualified for Europe. That is HUGE and may just eclipse ours. To answer the question though ... Would I support County in the Cup by going to Hampden ? The answer to that is an emphatic NO. Even if I still lived in Scotland, I could not go along to Hampden and pretend I was supporting them. I would consider going as a neutral to watch the spectacle of a game of football but not sure I would bother goiing to that expense for a day out in Glasgow where the end result wouldnt bother me much. As a sidenote to this thread: It is a good thread but like the other that was closed down earlier today, it is in danger of having the same fate if the personal slagging that is permeating throughout it continues. Please stick to the discussion without lowering the tone and slagging off other posters or I will close it down. This is the first and only warning about this.

QOS -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
Well the man on the radio is wrong then ..... County have played 4 games less than us (12pts) and are 13points behind us. If they win them all (unlikely) they would be a point behind us so 1 slip up from us and they could win it ........
