Tokely's 500th Appearance
This is not acceptable. We are suffering a bit from topic drift, but I do agree with you 100% !!! I commented on this very thing on another thread somewhere but the excuse trotted out is that "we do not know what division we will be in next season" ...... funny that, neither do Ross County and they have now got something like 9 or 10 of their first team signed up on extended deals ...... Garry Wood being the latest. Its simple really, offer the guys you want to keep a decent deal (within our wage structure) and include a promotion/relegation clause that allows the club and player to negotiate/agree to a wage rise/drop (or even a release) based on the division we are in come the end of the season. Its not f****** rocket science !!!

A little help winding up a new County fan.
The old ones are always the best ... so you could remind him that Dingwall's claim to fame is that they invented the toothbrush there ......... anywhere else and it would have been called a teethbrush !

Tokely's 500th Appearance
It was in the days where you only listed 3 subs so no sub GK. As there was no sub, Ross went in goal and had to wear Fridge's top so we can legitimately say he has worn the #1 strip He had a clean sheet too !!!! Incidentally, Robbo was playing for Livi that day but went off before he had a chance to test Tokes. REPORT FROM THE GAME: SAT 27th FEBRUARY 1999 CALEDONIAN STADIUM LEAGUE DIVISION 2 INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE 3 (McLean 24, Wilson 31, Shearer 70) LIVINGSTON 1 (McCormick 8) INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE ? Fridge, Tokely, Hastings, Teasdale, Mann, McCulloch, Wilson (Robson 88), Shearer (Glancy 80), McLean (Cherry 73), Christie, Sheerin LIVINGSTON ? Alexander, Boyle (McPhee 64), Deas, McManus, Watson, Millar, King, Conway (Harvey 55), Robertson (Feroz 81), McCormick, Fleming REFEREE ? J Rowbotham (Kirkcaldy) ATTENDANCE - 3279 SENT OFF ? Fridge (ICT), Deas (Livingston) MAN OF THE MATCH ? Les Fridge (ICT) REPORT ? Heavy rain and a snow blizzard put the game in severe doubt but at 2 pm the pitch was declared playable. Livingston pressed hard from the kick off and in the second minute Les Fridge saved a John Robertson drive. Two minutes later at the other end Neil Alexander dropped a Barry Wilson cross but Duncan Shearer hit the post. Livingston took the lead in 8 minutes when Mark McCormick pounced on a bad clearance and hit it past Fridge from just inside the area. Caley Thistle took control and equalised in 24 minutes. Ross Tokely crossed from the right, it went through Alexander?s hands and Scott McLean tapped it home. Alexander redeemed himself 4 minutes later when he tipped over a Barry Wilson free kick. ICT took the lead in 31 minutes when a Shearer drive deflected off a defender and Wilson hit it past Alexander. On the 44 minute mark Fridge tipped a Frank Conway header onto the bar then Scott Mclean hit it past the post on the whistle at the other end. The second half was a re-run of the first with Caley Thistle pressing and Livingston hitting on the break. In 53 minutes Shearer set up Wilson on the edge of the box but his return pass was blocked. In 59 minutes the home defence failed to clear but Paul Harvey hit it past. Livingston?s best chance to equalise fell to John Robertson in 66 minutes ? he took a McCormick cross and hit it hard only to see Fridge make a great stop. The points were sealed in 70 minutes. Barry Wilson set up Ross Tokely who ran into the area and sent across a low ball - Alexander tipped it into the path of Shearer and he knocked it home. It should have been 4-1 in 72 minutes when Barry Wilson was just outside the box heading towards goal when he was brought down by Paul Deas. The red card was inevitable. Both sides had chances after that but the defences held firm. With 5 minutes left Les Fridge was unlucky to be sent off when he tackled Brian McPhee outside the box. Contact was minimal but McPhee went down and Fridge was shown the red card. Ross Tokely took over in goal. The score remained 3-1 and Caley Thistle now lie 4 points adrift.

here's hoping that this weekend Terry lets him wear number 9 (the only number he has not worn) and obviously makes him captain for the day

Dunfermline Thrown Out Of Cup
nothing against the Pars and I know they were way ahead when the ineligible player came on but that was only one of a litany of mistakes, any one of which would get you tossed out of a competition at the amateur level .... Fielded ineligible player Submitted an inaccurate team line Altered a named substitute on the team line Did not register two outfield under-21 players. farcical really but hey-ho, its the SFA so not entirely unexpected.

January signings
this thread is not actually a rumour, it is a wishlist and as stated in the Rumour Mill header "These are not rumours, they are opinions about players with no current connection to ICT so should go to the NON-ICT forum" this is why it has been moved.

Clach in administration
I think Richard did mean Inverness City but Inverness United do (or did) exist as a welfare or Amateur side .... It may be an urban myth but supposedly the fact that Inverness Utd was registered as a team name with the SFA (and the fact Clach didnt join the merger) was one of the reasons our team was not called Inverness Utd when it was formed ! Perhaps Mr Bannerman might know more? Incidentally, I believe Caledonian FC is (or was) also a registered name with the SFA for some time after the pre-merger club ceased to exist. Again, it was resurrected in the Amatuer or Welfare ranks.

Imrie
End of Season http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.a...569351?UserKey= "Imrie does not expect to be offered a contract extension this month but would be willing to stay with Caley Thistle. He said: ?I am out of contract in the summer but no one has spoken about contracts. I am happy enough to stay here but I would like to play a lot more games. Hopefully, I will get a few more games under my belt and kick on from there, if not I will keep working hard. In this day and age it is hard for clubs to offer players contracts. Contracts are running out and I think we only have four players signed for next season so far. Everyone is in the same situation as myself, even the manager and Maurice Malpas."

Imrie
Maybe from the North Stand but Paul Ritchie used to get dogs abuse from the main stand, mainly from a few older guys behind us. It got so ridiculous that eventually myself, Calum and Big Stew started applauding him and cheering him when he got things right (more often than he got them wrong) ... in the end it shut these old chaps up !!! :( :) :clapping03: - totally agree. Whether you like them or not, while they are in an ICT shirt and you are an ICT supporter, you support them not abuse them. Nothing wrong with getting frustrated if they have a bad game or do something stupid but the systemic and systematic abuse that some players seem to be generating is bang out of order. Please distinguish between "this site" and abuse handed out at the match. Whilst there can be dodgy and unwarranted posts on here from a minority of posters, I very much doubt that the people in question were typing abuse on the site then holding up their laptops to show the abuse to the players in the stadium so this site has nothing to do with their actions !!! We are talking about the actions of people at the match here and reading this thread I seem to see many more who are annoyed or disgusted at the actions of the minority than those backing it.

with all the perceived negativity surrounding ICT at the moment and rumours of severe financial woes that may be close to or even wide of the mark, I am just happy to bask in the feeling of a great result against a good SPL side.

If there is any online coverage it will be limited to UK only anyway as the Scottish Cup is always UK only. I cant verify if openallmics or anything else is working as I am behind a company firewall that blocks streaming audio/video and the iPhone doesnt do Flash
